"Big things have small beginnings."
☄ DECONTAMINATION #2 ( 04.14 - 04.17 ) On the Moira, crew come and go without much hassle. They take a transporter to planets and moons and back again without any fuss... Until today. All crew that try to reboard the Moira coming back from Del Pascia will be denied access, a warning flashing on their MID - Decontamination Required for Entry. It’s a protocol that hasn’t been enacted before, and the MID offers no explanation as to why it is now. The transporter will seal and then be permitted to dock in the Cargo Bay, where the procedure will begin. All crew on the transporter have to dispose of their clothing by placing it inside hazardous waste bags located in a compartment near the front of the craft. After all clothing is stored, a gas-like substance will fill the transporter, breathable yet tasteless, and once it dissipates, crew will be free to go. ☄ D.ON'T E.VER L.EAVE ( 04.18 - 04.23 ) After the decontamination procedures for the Moira go off, the captains issue a ship-wide alert to let the crew know that the ship is picking up on something inside each person that boarded the space station. It is speculated that the crew came in contact with an unknown biological contaminant either during the station’s decontamination procedure or sometime after. At this point, they aren’t aware of what will happen to those that are carrying the contaminant, and the captains ask for anybody with experience to head to the Medbay to begin testing. Crew don’t appear to be in any danger, so they are allowed to continue gathering materials and supplies on board the space station at their discretion. (Every time they come and go, they will be made to go through the procedure described above). ☄ FEAR ME, LOVE ME, DO AS I SAY ( 04.24 - 04.28 ) Like most unfortunate things, it seems everything happens all at once. The noises you heard, a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents, become louder. You can’t place where they are coming from at first. You turn, you follow, but the search yields no results. And then, without any warning, it’s crystal clear as “they” begin to creep and move from within the shadows and ruined sections of Del Pascia: the prisoners and workers said to have been relocated by D-E-L. Their voice is one, regardless of how many gather, and they tell you, “You can be happy here” and “I can make you better” shortly after. As always, fearing for the safety of the crew (and despite the disrepair of the Moira from events prior), the captains ask for all those capable to assist with extracting those aboard Del Pascia as quickly as possible before D-E-L tries to lock them inside. Running, after all, is better than dying, and it’s certainly something everyone aboard the Moira has gotten quite good at. |
Andrew Detmer | ota | cw; violence, crushing mutated things because pent up anger
[The mutated prisoners were unsettling, sure, but as far as Andrew was concerned they posed no threat. He stared for a moment as they had creeped out from the shadows, and more than one went to grab at his arm he pushed them back - created an invisible bubble around him to keep them at bay.
Andrew decided to let off some steam.
He can be found standing in the middle of a crowd of them, his camera floating off to the side, somewhere high enough to be safe, sweeping his arms, making hand movements, all while one mutated prisoner after another gets flung against the wall, or into each other. It started off at him blowing off steam because of everything that happened since he arrived here, but the more they spoke of 'no longer being alone' and 'no longer being hurt' it almost sounded like mocking to him. He goes from throwing them around to snapping their limbs with a crushing motion of his hand. More and more come out of the shadows and Andrew just continues his tirade, wondering why they didn't seem to be dying.]
Now to encourage shitty behaviour...
Hahaha~!! Not bad!
[he's using Model W again. He hadn't expected to, but well... Here he was. And it was with no small amount of delight that he found out that these things were susceptible to fire. Yet imagine his surprise when he comes across a young boy breaking limbs with what looks like telekinesis. Though...]
But they'll just keep coming back if you only break their limbs. [he proceeds to slice one of the prisoners to pieces, kicking away the remains that are in his way] Their master's got a pretty decent regeneration ability... And I don't think D-E-L will let them or us go willingly.
YES. also SO sorry for the delay. It was a slow month ;;
He watches as the things get sliced to pieces, creating an invisible barrier around himself so they can't hurt him as he watches the demonstration. Ah, that explains why they weren't dying.]
Oh...um, I didn't know that.
[He turns to another mutant, appearing to contemplate something. UHHH he's not really...well maybe if he just...
He lifts his hand and makes turning motion with it, rotating his wrist. As he does so one of the mutant's head starts to turn until it snaps. There's obvious as Andrew's eyes narrow, lips purse a little...theeen POP goes the mutant head, falling to the floor.
Well, that was his first time doing that! If he looks a little proud of himself that's because he is.]
They're like, I don't know, zombies then?
nah, I feel you! I keep... having to retype this because what is free time?
[he brings the butt end of his scythe down through the skull of the decapitated mutant with enough force that he breaks through the jaw joint easily. Ah, the joys of being a machine]
You'll wear yourself out if you expend too much energy on something like that. Think... Smaller movements.
[he doesn't turn his head, though his eyes shift to his left slightly before his purple armour suddenly shifts to being red instead and what looks like a lance shoots up from the ground to gut a creature crawling towards him. As the 'lance' disappears, Prometheus' own armour shifts back to it's original purple colour as well]
So... telekinesis? [he spins his weapon leisurely; it's just a warning for the time being and no body parts go flying this time. A chuckle] Gotta confirm first. I'd hate to give the wrong advice to someone who shows such promise.
that thing that doesn't exist
Uh, yeah. [He turns his attention to yet another mutant, this time trying something else. He holds out his hands, inching them closer and close to each other until they slap together. The mutant's head is crushed - that actually took less energy. But HEY he's still learning...]
What...is it your armor or...?
[Like dude wtf are you?]
no subject
Learning when to attack, how to attack, how to handle a weapon and the like? That's all experience. The fun little extras that make this easier?
[he raises his free hand in front of him, palm facing upwards and empty. Then a purple flame lights up in his hand for a moment before he crushes it to emphasize:] That's part and parcel with this.
... Though I guess I should mention that experience tends to make everything a little easier to do. Don't you agree?
no subject
Uh, yeah, I guess that applies to everything though.
[Definitely including his own powers.]
no subject
It's always good to be self-motivated.
...
[he looks over at one mutant with a grin on his face. It's missing legs from an earlier attack... Though it probably wouldn't be able to leave anyway, D-E-L probably wouldn't let them. But it's a great target]
Hey, you seem like you're about that age... How was your biology score in school? [he tilts his head towards Andrew] Unless you're in a rush to get back to the ship.
no subject
Not really. [The mutants didn't bother him enough to send him running back to the ship, honestly.] Uh, it was okay? I wasn't like, a straight A student or anything. Why?
no subject
[they could be fought off and D-E-L ignored, but the way he says it... Mocking with a hint of self-deprecation. Like he's speaking from experience (wouldn't he be dead if that were the case?)
But he's watching Andrew carefully. That nervousness, the boy's build... He wonders if this kid desires power and decides to continu]
Bone's pretty tough - [he points at his own neck, despite not being human] - but if you target the gaps between the bones, you can get the same effect but with less strain. Though... [his head tilts to regard Andrew] At the rate you're going, I get the feeling that you're going to be one hell of a powerhouse in the future.
