"I feel liberated when I'm doing it, and I want other people to feel liberated through it."
☄ ENJOY YOUR STAY ... IN PRISON Those who choose to go to Del Pascia will find themselves greeted by D-E-L. It has already agreed to terms with the Captains, allowing crew to strip nonessential supplies that aren’t needed since the station’s crew and prisoners were relocated due to funding cuts. The only condition placed upon this agreement is that any crew wishing to explore must undergo a mandatory decontamination before proceeding through the rest of Del Pascia. This process takes only minutes and is guaranteed to cause no physical side effects. Following this simple procedure, exploration is open with only warnings to be careful about damaging key systems. It is important to note that there are various security cameras located throughout the correctional facility, and it is not uncommon for D-E-L to comment or show concern for those exploring parts of Del Pascia. ☄ DEATH BECOMES YOU There is salvage to be found in all parts of the facility, including the cell blocks and infirmaries of the prison wings. However, there is something odd about these sectors, a strange charge in the air that follows you as you search for anything useful to bring back to the Moira. Perhaps it is the eyes of D-E-L watching? But then, after an indiscernible amount of time, it's like a switch is flipped. Suddenly, you are wearing your sins where anyone but you can see. For however much death you have wrought or committed, there will be blood on your hands—perhaps even further than that. This bizarre occurrence will appear as an almost digital skin and will not vanish until outside the cell blocks. If exploring the infirmaries for supplies, any and all health stats throughout your life will be visible and easy to read by anyone who happens to take an interest. ☄ WHAT WAS THAT SOUND? Del Pascia is a very large station and has been abandoned for quite some time. D-E-L will regretfully inform anyone who asks that some nonessential areas have fallen into disrepair. It will warn that exploring these areas can be risky as it has no knowledge of what damage these sections have taken. Regardless of that, if you venture in, you’ll find that these sections are in rather bad shape. Exposed wiring sparks in the walls, a great variety of broken tools are thrown about, and it seems that every camera has been purposely broken. Venturing in further will yield valuable components for salvage, and yet... as before, you suspect you aren’t alone. It isn’t often, but sometimes, you might hear a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents. Every time you go to investigate... whatever made the noise is gone. |

You know, like most of Fushimi's life, at this point. ]
Be more aware of your surroundings, Misaki. [ He's trying to sound lofty and condescending, but his voice is too tight to really manage that. He's banking on the fact that if he gets under Yata's skin enough, Yata won't notice anything weird. Because things are definitely weird. And Fushimi doesn't like that, so he's stepping a little closer to Yata, because -- even if Fushimi is still trying to keep up the lie, Yata is safe. ]
no subject
You be more aware! Why are you sneaking up on people anyway?!
[ Yata, at least, doesn't notice anything weird because he also shuffles a little closer to Fushimi, reflexively turning to glance around the hall solely to disguise the way he shuffles closer. ]
What are you doing all the way in here, anyway?
no subject
Fushimi doesn't move closer to Yata again, but he doesn't move further away, either. If pressed, he'd just say it's because Yata's afraid of ghosts, of course. Not Fushimi. ]
I was exploring, the same as you.
no subject
[ Yata's protest comes quickly, so much so that Fushimi wouldn't be incorrect in assuming that Yata spoke without thinking (again). He's definitely exploring, but 'exploring' sounds too dumb and childish so he's not about to just admit to it. ]
I was looking for stuff to salvage. Like we're supposed to.
[ There, that sounds like way less of a kid thing to do. Surely there's no fault Fushimi can find in that answer. ]
... this place is dangerous, though. The whole station seems like it's gonna fall apart if you breathe on it wrong.
no subject
We're both exploring. But -- [ Fushimi looks around, just a hint of unease in his body language, and he tongue clicks. ] I don't know if there's really that much worthwhile to scavenge. Especially with everyone else working.
They don't need us. [ They could totally go back now, right? Fushimi would like to go back now and drink coffee in Allison's cafe and not be terrified of some weird space horror. ]
no subject
Fushimi makes a good point, even if Yata is gonna keep glaring at him about it. He's not about to admit that he's both scared and extraneous being out here, but he can assent to one thing without risking any damage to his pride: ]
It's not like there's anything useful in this part of the ship anyway.
[ He takes a step forward, shouldering past Fushimi and slouching back in the direction he first came from. ]
There's gonna be more useful stuff in the areas that aren't falling to pieces.
no subject
The entire place is abandoned.
[ And then, a hint of a suggestion -- he tries to make it flippant and easy, like he's not looking for a way out. ]
We could leave.
no subject
[ He shoots Fushimi an agitated but resigned look, like he's not even remotely surprised Fushimi considered actually getting familiar with the station to be beneath him. ]
There's all sorts of areas that are in better shape. I helped Peter move a ping pong table out of one.
[ So at least something useful came out of this ship, right? The suggestion that they leave is a pretty tempting one, however, and Yata can't quite bring himself to dismiss it outright. ]
... Maybe. You really think there's nothing left to find?
no subject
that's a lie, he wants to be back in his Scepter 4 uniform, drinking his coffee and not having to worry about whether or not he's lying to Misaki properly, or if they're going to die in a weird freak space circumstance, or, like, about mutants.
His life has gotten more complicated just when he thought it'd get easier. ]
Who's Peter? [ He's not jealous of Yata making friends, he's NOT--
-- he's totally jealous. anyway, it's a more familiar feeling, so he'll latch onto it, instead of actually answering Yata's question. He doesn't know what there is to find, but he doesn't know if he wants to find whatever he gets the feeling is hiding. ]
no subject
[ Near as Yata can tell, however, the end result is the same: weird powers. ]
He can run really fast, too fast to even follow. He and I are both guards for the captains.
[ Different captains, but still. Either way, while Yata isn't quite gushing about Peter it's clear that he thinks pretty well of him. He's definitely firmly in the 'friend' category, if nothing else. ]
no subject
What a dumb power for a Strain to have. [ Sure, it'd be hard to catch him, but he's still pretty sure that on the scale of powers, that ranks somewhere around "being a horse that can transform magically into a Pegasus" and way below "being a psychic baby that can levitate everything".
Anna's definitely still at the top, though. ]
... does anyone ever attack the captains.
no subject
[ Yata shoots Fushimi a withering look for his disparaging comment, because in his mind Peter's powers are super neat and anything Fushimi has to say about them to the contrary is wrong and stupid.
... He does raise a good point, however, and Yata shrugs. ]
Dunno. The one I'm guarding never even leaves the ship.
no subject
[ and then, because even if they're sort of enemies again -- as far as Yata is concerned -- Fushimi ventures a little further; voices a few of his own concerns that he's been mulling over. They're not partners anymore, and it's hard to share the information, but Yata is all Fushimi has, here. ]
There's a lot the captains aren't telling us. I thought you might have picked something up.
no subject
It's not like they talk to me anymore than the rest of us. Definitely not about anything important.
no subject
Like how there's a coffee shop on board. That was a pleasant surprise. ]
They wouldn't be careless, would they. [ that would clearly be too easy. ]
