"I feel liberated when I'm doing it, and I want other people to feel liberated through it."
☄ ENJOY YOUR STAY ... IN PRISON Those who choose to go to Del Pascia will find themselves greeted by D-E-L. It has already agreed to terms with the Captains, allowing crew to strip nonessential supplies that aren’t needed since the station’s crew and prisoners were relocated due to funding cuts. The only condition placed upon this agreement is that any crew wishing to explore must undergo a mandatory decontamination before proceeding through the rest of Del Pascia. This process takes only minutes and is guaranteed to cause no physical side effects. Following this simple procedure, exploration is open with only warnings to be careful about damaging key systems. It is important to note that there are various security cameras located throughout the correctional facility, and it is not uncommon for D-E-L to comment or show concern for those exploring parts of Del Pascia. ☄ DEATH BECOMES YOU There is salvage to be found in all parts of the facility, including the cell blocks and infirmaries of the prison wings. However, there is something odd about these sectors, a strange charge in the air that follows you as you search for anything useful to bring back to the Moira. Perhaps it is the eyes of D-E-L watching? But then, after an indiscernible amount of time, it's like a switch is flipped. Suddenly, you are wearing your sins where anyone but you can see. For however much death you have wrought or committed, there will be blood on your hands—perhaps even further than that. This bizarre occurrence will appear as an almost digital skin and will not vanish until outside the cell blocks. If exploring the infirmaries for supplies, any and all health stats throughout your life will be visible and easy to read by anyone who happens to take an interest. ☄ WHAT WAS THAT SOUND? Del Pascia is a very large station and has been abandoned for quite some time. D-E-L will regretfully inform anyone who asks that some nonessential areas have fallen into disrepair. It will warn that exploring these areas can be risky as it has no knowledge of what damage these sections have taken. Regardless of that, if you venture in, you’ll find that these sections are in rather bad shape. Exposed wiring sparks in the walls, a great variety of broken tools are thrown about, and it seems that every camera has been purposely broken. Venturing in further will yield valuable components for salvage, and yet... as before, you suspect you aren’t alone. It isn’t often, but sometimes, you might hear a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents. Every time you go to investigate... whatever made the noise is gone. |
Asriel Dreemurr | ota | Undertale spoilers
[As Asriel takes his first few steps into the prison with everyone else, he's immediately not a fan of the place. Out of all the planets he's seen so far, this probably ranks as the gloomiest one he's been to.]
This place seems really creepy... are we really going to look for parts to salvage in here?
[Prison Cells]
[This place made Asriel want to turn around and run back to the safety of the Moira. He'd gotten pretty far in his search for salvaging, and he wanted to help - getting scared and running back wasn't an option. The whole building was dark and gloomy, and he didn't really want to go near the jail cells out of fear that he'd get locked inside one. Each trip he made inside of a cell was brief, glancing around and grabbing whatever looked small and easy to carry.
Some comfort was knowing that there were plenty of other crew members exploring too. It was really the only reason he hadn't turned back yet.
At some point though, anyone who comes across Asriel will notice a thick layer of dust covering his body, from his face and ears to all over his clothing. And if they look directly at his hands, they're covered in a thick, red liquid.
Asriel doesn't seem to notice, greeting whoever he comes across with a slightly nervous smile.]
H-howdy! Were you looking for something in here? You can go in first if you want.
[Infirmary]
[Really, Asriel was only stopping by just to look for some extra supplies. And he thinks maybe he should leave this room alone - people needed it more than he did. But curiosity gets the better of him, and he finds himself looking around and rummaging through various medical supplies. He holds up a syringe while trying to figure out what it's for.
As he's looking, he doesn't see his health stats appear behind him. It has his basic information: Name: Asriel, Species: Monster, Age: 10... but then it starts listing off his deaths.
And boy there's a lot of them. Two in particular stand out:
Cause of death: Multiple wounds from human attacks.
Cause of death: Energy blasts from Sans.]
Prison Cells
Mettaton finds himself in the company of the small monster as he's switching to a quieter cell, and he quickly raises a brow when he notices a very important fact; it's a boss monster! How very curious! He'd regard them with an unguarded response too, if not for one thing.
That dust...it was a little eerie, even he had to admit. Moreso when paired with the blood, which he knew well enough. Even without succeeding in killing Frisk, he'd seen them bleed, and his inquisitive nature on all things human had led to him studying it once the monsters were liberated.
So...the small child was covered in blood and dust. A child. What an implication.]
I wasn't looking for anything at the moment.
[It's a statement devoid the usual enthusiasm Mettaton's known for. Even he's aware.]
Ah, go on then, darling! I'm taking a small break, so it's all yours!
[There, that's better. It certainly sounds less standoffish.]
no subject
Asriel smiles back nervously - but not out of guilt or fear, it's just a little daunting to be in the presence of a celebrity. He doesn't notice the dust or blood on him at all as he glances towards the cell.]
A-are you sure? I don't mind sharing.
[He pauses.]
Um... you're... you're Mettaton, right?
no subject
It's just...wasn't the king's son dead? Is that why he's covered in dust? That doesn't really explain the blood though. Mettaton isn't sure what's so creepy about a dust-covered boss monster child who had been dead for a long time.
Actually, that's a lie. He knows exactly what's creepy about that.
Buuut, he chooses to ignore that in favor of the child knowing who he was.]
Yes, that's right! You know of me~? Of course, who in the Underground doesn't, right? Well, dear, if it's no difference to you, I'm taking a break. So I assure you, you're alright to peruse to your little soul's content!
[Although he's not expressing how put off he is by seeing Asriel this way, he still isn't in full, flamboyant form at the moment. Hopefully it's not too apparent. And thankfully, he's got a clean conscience, so he's not going to be freaking out Asriel in turn.]
no subject
Still, he'd seen the posters, caught glimpses of his show in barely-working television sets. Flowey wasn't a fan, but it was still pretty cool to finally see Mettaton in person.]
Uh-huh, I've seen you on TV and in posters and everything! I-it's really nice to meet you in person!
[Does he sound too nervous he hopes he hopes he doesn't sound to nervous. But now that he has the approval to go on ahead, he hesitates a little. He really doesn't like exploring this prison, but he steps inside and starts looking through all the discarded junk left behind.]
Oof, it's really dirty in here.
no subject
[Why lie? Why even question why the son of Dreemurr was here? After all, Frisk had told him already that time could be suspended while they were here. Why wouldn't the Ingress be capable of pulling from earlier than Mettaton could remember?
At any rate, although he's not interested in picking through more trash (or time nonsense), the robot doesn't have a problem accompanying a child, especially such an adorable little fan.]
It is, isn't it? I would say I didn't volunteer for this manual labor but alas! A star needs to keep up his rapport with the public! No matter how dirty the task!!
[He fake-swoons against the nearest wall, ever the actor.]
Prison cells
No, his unease comes from the ordered levels. Rows on rows of narrow cells, structural circuitry lighting the area in dim shades of red and yellow. It's too familiar, too close, enough to send sharp/wrong memories seething underneath his damaged filters. It's hard to tell whether more nausea comes from the reprimand that follows, or the fragments that trickle up between the gaps.
Any distraction is welcome. The light footsteps ahead are easy to track down, and Rinzler paces forwards, pausing as he comes into sight of the small monster. Asriel is easily recognized, the hesitation in the beta's voice just as familiar as his outline. But the glittering fragments that coat the monster... voxels? No, not quite. Too fine, like code ground down to user sand. It's striking enough to stare at, though. Enough to pause, noise skipping with surprise. The question is ignored.
Rinzler's perception isn't the only one shifted. Asriel will see spatters of blood coating the program's hands and arms, sizzling faintly against the circuitry beneath... and trailing behind Rinzler? An unbroken stream of program code. The shattered fragments are only a little larger than its dust, but far more varied in their colors: blues and greens glittering among the mass of white from derezzed ISOs. Even some that seems to match his own red-orange glow. Voxels drip from the program's hands, fall from his disks, scattering dully with every twitch and step of movement, only to dim and fade away. It's mesmerizing, as corpse collections go.]

The blood is something he does recognize, and it takes priority over the colorful trails of broken codes. The alarm is clear on his face as he takes a sudden step back.]
Rinzler! Are you okay? What happened?!
no subject
Alarm. Fear. The nonverbals are familiar, and easy to detect, but what happened is exactly what Rinzler wants to know. It takes effort not to reach for a weapon, but if there's a threat in range, he can't detect it, and if Asriel's panicked enough to run, that's all the more reason he needs answers. The enforcer reaches for his MID, fingers flashing quickly across the keys.]
No damage. Situation unknown.
Require data. Threats active? Current status?
no subject
[Because clearly it's from being hurt? He hopes - he really hopes. Did Rinzler get in a fight? The concern is written all over his face.]
I-I'm all right. I haven't seen any threats around here.

Infirmary ayooooo
Asriel! Hello! How have you...?
[He trails out, looking confused, as the stats behind his back scroll on, listing the many, many ways Asriel's been the unluckiest creature in the underground for a very long time.
Papyrus's own stats aren't that much of a surprise.
HP: 680
ATK: 20
DEF: 20
Forgettable.
Following that, his own impossibly long list of deaths is the same. An attack from either Flowey or a name that changes constantly, stopping for a fraction of a second on Frisk or Chara before flickering to say something different.]
no subject
Howdy, Papyrus! I was just looking for...
[And now it's Asriel's turn to trail off. The stats weren't surprising, but Papyrus stats are out there for him to see. And it had all of his deaths listed on it, by the looks of it, from every timeline Papyrus has existed in.
He feels his chest tighten when he sees Flowey's name on there, but that's not surprising. He knew he hurt Papyrus. Chara and Frisk on the other hand...
No. No that wasn't right. It wasn't.]
Um, Papyrus. I don't know if you can see it but um...
...
Your stats are showing.
no subject
Yes... I think you're right.
Yours are, too.
[And he's starting to think they're wrong. They must be. Sans? His Sans? That lazybones sometimes doesn't even bother getting out of bed in the morning, and Asriel died so long ago, so how could any of this possibly be true?]
no subject
Still, a sick feeling grows in his stomach. What does it say? What did Papyrus know about him now? He swallows, and a nervous laugh shakes out of his throat.]
Aha ha, um... I-I think maybe there's a few mistakes...

Prison Cells
[Resettling their bag on their shoulder, Frisk is just about to answer Asriel when they get a good look at him and freeze in sudden shock. That--the blood, and so much dust--!]
[They rush forward and take his arm to try and dust it off, and after a few passes they realize there...isn't anything there?]
Wh--what's going on?!
Re: Prison Cells
Frisk?! What's wrong?
no subject
[Frisk tries again to brush it away, but the image doesn't even flicker.]
Why can't I touch it?!
no subject
[The word comes out horrified and disgusted, and Asriel quickly reaches up to brush himself off frantically-
-there's nothing there?]
...Frisk, are you sure?

It's a relief to find another person. It looks like this one isn't human either, but everything about his voice and stature promises him to be a young child. She smiles brightly in return, her cheerful expression providing an eerie contrast to the red liquid that seems to have dyed her entire body. Her body is so drenched with it that she might have just been bathed in it. The red liquid, coming in several shades, is rubbed across her skin, dying her white blouse and adding color to her black clothes, mixed all throughout her dark blue hair.
It doesn't seem like she's noticed yet. The dust on him registers, but she doesn't immediately comment, deciding it better to try and offer him support first,]
Why don't we go in together? I can carry all the heavy stuff!
no subject
You need to go the Medbay right now!
no subject
Th-the Medbay? Is there something wrong with me? Is it my face? Is there something on my face?
[She does, at the very least, seem appropriately distressed by the situation.]
entrance
It probably helped a lot Asriel was just a kid, and Raiden found it difficult to not want to sidle up to him a protectively. It wasn't hard to pick up on the little waver in his voice. This place was creepy as hell.]
...I guess we have too, if it's part of the mission.
[Or even if it wasn't, Raiden thought classifying it as one would help drive him to do it even if he'd rather not. It's not like he hasn't dealt with a lot of weird things on those either.]
You're not scared, are you?
[There's an air of a teasing tone; either to cover up his own discomfort in this situation or genuinely to see how the kid would react.]
entrance
No, I'm not scared! I'm just... observing the situation.
[That makes him sound like he's not scared right??]
no subject
Okay then. I'll go first.
[It's not just the bravado at work, the katana-like sword slung over his back is drawn in front of him, pointed into the dark air.]
I'll keep you safe.
no subject
...Thank you.
[The katana gets Asriel's attention, and his eyes widen at the weapon. But it's not out of fear.]
Is that your sword? It looks really cool!
