[it's worrying that every time he looks for bee he's nowhere to be found.

riptide was never actually sure if bee was brought back in from space. everything is blurring together and sometimes he's not even sure if most of it is real. he could ask, sure, but eventually everything gets the better of him and he accidentally naps for over 100 hours. inconvenient. he's not entirely sure if that happened, either.

when he finally wakes up, he stumbles to the observation deck, vaguely wondering if they're finally in a place where he'll recognise the stars.

they're not, but he recognises bee sitting in a corner, picking at a package. riptide knows he's probably not a welcome sight, so he doesn't approach. he pings bee's mid and waves instead.]

How do they get into Protoforms? Does somebot put them there?

[knaval]

Yeah, for forged bots they're put into a natural body as well. Cold constructed bots like me had their sparks frozen from the Matrix and put into a pre-built body. That's how they kept up production during the war.

[riptide snorts.]

And is also kinda private, so don't ask anyone if they're forged or CC. You might get a slap in response.

[heelys]

Oh... Sorry. [He looks a little apologetic, placing the shards back in the box they came in carefully.]

When the Allspark shattered, the energy went all over Detroit and into some Earth vehicles, giving them Sparks. It's weird, like Sari's key. It's infused with energy from the Allspark, and she can use it to do... Well, pretty much anything. She's saved a lot of us with it.

[There's a small pauses as he glances back at the painting, leaning against Riptide.] Man, why are so many bots from your universe here? Would it kill the Ingress to bring in somebot I know?

[knaval]

[riptide shrugs.]

Don't be. I told you myself, it's not like you asked. [then shakes his head.] Why is it always Earth? Our war ended on Earth, too. I've never even been but that's where Optimus and the rest of high command always seem to be hanging out...

I have no idea. Ours seems to be the worst so far, I hope someone from your universe shows up. I kinda want to meet your Prowl.

[heelys]

Always Earth? We crash landed! And almost got arrested for even being on an organic planet! It's not something you're really allowed to do back home.

[Bumblebee leans against Riptide companionably, letting a vent escape him.] Hah. He's super annoying. [He's smiling though.] Talks about being still and quiet all the time and I'm just like-- You can't be still and quiet all the time in battle! My whole thing is being loud and fast! He totally doesn't get me.

[knaval]

He can't be worse than our Prowl. He's kind of... a really bad person. Like, a lot of people have died because of him and he doesn't seem to care? He's a jerk.

Who else was on your team?

[heelys]

My Prowl is kind of a selfish jerk... but I'm pretty sure he hasn't caused anybot to die.

[He hates how Grimdark your timeline is. Yeesh.]

Optimus, Ratchet, Bulkhead and me! And Sari. She's been a part of team Prime since we got to Earth.

[knaval]

I think he just stopped caring. I've never met him, thankfully.

[though if he did he would probably ask prowl to sign something. autograph from the devil!]

Optimus? You're on his team? What's he like? Is his voice as deep as the legends say?

[heelys]

[Bumblebee laughs at that.] What? No. Optimus... he's a good Prime. I mean, sometimes he says really stupid stuff and I just ignore him, but I know his spark's in the right place after we cool off. [There's a pause.] But he's one pit of a buzzkill! Totally doesn't know how to have fun, which is what I'm all about! So we argue a lot. But if anyone tried to hurt him, I'd be there protecting him! He's a buzzkill, but he's our buzzkill, y'know?

[He snorts, looking up at Riptide.]

What kind of legends do you guys have?

[knaval]

I heard he once punched a mountain to death. I've met Orion Pax, you know. I don't doubt it. He was an angry bugger before he became Optimus. Friggin' .1%ers, man.

I also heard he once made Fat Tankor cry just by glaring at him, and that if you make him disappointed he devours your soul. That last one is obviously fake.

[heelys]

I dunno who Orion Pax is, but Optimus isn't angry. I dunno if he ever punched a mountain to death either... before we went to Earth all he did was watch war-time vids and be a nerd.

[He's laughing though.] It feels like he devours your soul when you disappoint him. Mostly I just think it's funny to make him mad. His engines get all revvy and huffy and he shakes and shouts and stomps his Prime feet.

[knaval]

Oh nooooooo that's... adorable...

[riptide is now imagining optimus with little steam blasts coming out his head.]

Gosh. I've never seen him in person. I wonder what he's like... other than a huffy baby. Kinda weird considering I was made to fight for him, huh?

[heelys]

[That would be an accurate imagination.]

Oh man, he's totally a huffy baby. It's so easy to make him mad. [He pauses when he realises what Riptide actually said, leaning against him.] That's so weird. Optimus never fought in the war where I'm from. I'm pretty sure Megatron can't even remember his name--he just hisses and calls us Autobotssss.

What did he do where you're from? Why were you fighting for him?

[knaval]

[riptide laughs, putting on a Golem Voice]

Can't let the Autobotses get too far!!

[stupid.]

Optimus was the guy who led us through the entire war. I was fighting for him because I was made as an Autobot, but I think if I had the option I would've gone with them anyway. The Decepticons kinda went off the rails really quickly.

[heelys]

[That pulls a genuine laughing fit out of Bumblebee, and he has to suck in a few deep vents to cool his engines, grinning widely.]

He sounds just like that, man. It's like he's here. 'Cept there's gotta also be Starscream trying to take over the Decepticons and Lugnut praying to his lord and savior Lord Megatron. And Blitzbrain having a conversation with himself.

[Even though they were his enemies, they were at least predictable. Here, it's hard to know who's actually capable of murdering things.]

Huh! That's so weird. The war was long over when Optimus was a cadet, let alone a Prime.

[knaval]

Jeez! That sounds more like a circus than Decepticons.

[though lugnut sounds disturbingly like tarn. riptide doesn't think too hard about it.]

Different timelines, huh? Our Optimus was Orion Pax before, he only became Optimus when he got the Matrix. I think Primes just really like "mus" names.

[heelys]

[He grins a little.] Different timelines.

I never heard the name Orion Pax before. There's no mateix where I'm from either, Magnus selects Primes. We have a whole bunch right now? I think? [He pauses to think.] Optimus, Sentinel and Rodiums are all Primes I know of. And I guess, Longarm Prime... But, he turned out do be a Decepticon infiltrator called Shockwave so he doesn't count.

[knaval]

Magnus selecting Primes... jeez, if he ever shows up you should tell him. His head might explode.

[riptide rests his chin on his hand.]

I'm glad I'm not in politics.

Ugh, me too. It sounds really boring. I'm just a superhero instead.
