Who: River Tam and you!
When: throughout the month
Where: All over including: flight deck, library and rec room
What: River getting her ship set up, wandering around the Moira, generally being a weirdo
Warnings: none yet
[A - Flight Deck]
[ Since finding out that the Ingress had spat out a smaller version of a firefly class ship, River has been spending a lot of time inspecting her new craft and learning its quirks and all its hidden places. The main bay door stays open while she works on it. It's a pretty little ship but it arrived used. She's no mechanic like Kaylee but River does her best. Sometimes that requires trial and error. Sometimes it means that smoke comes out of the engine for several minutes before she finds what went wrong. More than once she steps outside with soot covering her face except for a space shaped like the goggles she's wearing atop her head.
If anyone is watching during one of these incidents, River shrugs. ]
There were problems.
[B - Flight Deck]
[ Eventually the incidents of smoke subside and the small engine glows softly when she tests it. With the technicaly issues (mostly) solved she's moved on to the most important part of owning a ship. Naming it. Anyone passing by might notice River dangling off the side of her ship, ten feet off the ground in a makeshift harness. She's been painting a name on the side in bright yellow paint. It reads THE LANTERN with several small stylized lanterns surrounding it.
There are a few splatters of paint on the deck but River doesn't seem too inclined to worry about it. ]
[C - Library]
[ The library is, as always, a peaceful place to look around for something to read. Maybe you're browsing through trying to find something new to read to fill the time. Everything seems to be normal until a foot can be spotted danging from the top of the bookshelf. River is stretched out atop the shelf, staring at a book with a confused expression. ]
...I'm not sure this is anatomically possible.
[ The cover of said book reads as "The Passion of the Tentacles". The cover is as one might expect. ]
[D - Rec area]
[ River usually takes time in the rec area either early in the morning or late at night when it's less likely to be occupied by too many people. Since she woke up from cryo with months and months of new memories she's been more willing to trust herself. That trust starts with her becoming willing to trust her body and make it stronger without fear of losing herself.
She stands, wearing thin flats that let her grip the floor and holding two weighted sticks in her hands. She starts out with careful steps but slowly picks up speed. Her moves are halfway between combat and dance. The routine takes her across the floor as she pushes herself, by the end she's breathing heavily as she feels the strain in her muscles and welcomes it. Do you interrupt? Or offer to spar with her? ]
[F - Wildcard]
[ Nothing appeal? Create your own scenario! ]

Ship he could follow. Kipos and the candles were unknowns. Adrien considered for a moment, before curiosity got the better of him on the last one. ]
Candles?
[ She mentioned quiet. He was always interested in quiet. ]
no subject
[ She visits it often enough, lighting a few candles each time for the people that were lost. But it was quiet down there and sometimes she would take a book and read for a while by the wavering light. ]
Not many people visit it. But it's there. Waiting to be seen.
no subject
[ From his tone, it is probably quite obvious that he has not visited. A fact he'll confirm with his next words. ]
I really need to try to see more of this ship.

[ Of course... her idea of getting to know a ship also involves exploring the vents. Not everyone is into that. ]
The gardens are nice, it's green. Helps you forget where you are.

However, her comment does strike home and he gives a small nod. ]
Fair point. I suspect Courser would like to go somewhere other than Medbay and my barracks. [ There was a small pause before his next words and though he didn't smile, his lips did twitch into an expression that could be considered fond. ]
He'd like the gardens, they'd probably remind him of his grandmother.
I'll make an effort to search them out.

[ After all, the ship is full of terribly interesting places. But she knows some folk are more comfortable in a routine than others. ]
There's other places, too. You might have fun if you look around.
