How is your hand going to keep me from being bored?

[Scoffing, she takes the prosthetic and finds somewhere safe to place it. She'll keep an eye on it for him and stab anyone that tries taking it, whether it's medical personnel or not.

Since he's drugged, she figures it's okay to tease him, since it might keep him from whining. Her eyebrows arch, almost suggestively, and she smirks.]

If I get restless, I'll just climb into bed with you. [And then, a beat later,] Or fall asleep in the chair.

[Because he's drugged, he's far easier to fluster than usual. Years of working with the other pilots have gotten him used to lewd jokes, but he's not really functioning at full strength, just now. His cheeks color slightly.]

I- I... [He laughs, and then wheezes, realizing very late in the game that Cassandra is teasing him. What else could she possibly be getting at.] Stop- stop making me laugh, it hurts.

[It hurts a lot, actually; there might be tears in his eyes. But he doesn't mind, if it means Cassandra is in a good enough mood to joke again.]

[Rolling her eyes, she moves to sit on the edge of his bed. It's close enough that she can turn and lean down to kiss him, something quick and entirely meant to fluster him even more.]

Stop whining!

[Still, she's worried he's hurting himself, so she reaches out and puts a gentle but firm hand to his shoulder in a silent command for him to sit still.]

[And Luke just blushes more, but he's so happy that she seems happy, he hardly cares. He reaches gingerly for her hand, attempting very gently and ineffectively to keep her there. He turns his head to kiss the hand on his shoulder, ignoring the pain this much movement is causing him.]

I'm glad you're here, I really am.

[She's taken by surprise with the affection he shows her, and it makes her look a little bewildered as she tries to sort out what it's making her feel. Unable to put an appropriate label on it, she just leans back in to kiss him once again. This time she allows it to be drawn out, so she can put an action to her affection since she can't figure out the words.]

I am too.

[She whispers as she breaks away, sitting upright once again to make sure she isn't hurting him.]

Even if you scared the hell out of me. I'm glad I came.

[Luke stays still for the entirety of the kiss, completely unsure what to do with it. He hadn't expected that, and he doesn't mind, but improvising is a little too much to ask for in his current state. Still, when Cassandra pulls away, he's left looking up at her like she's the only person in the galaxy of any importance. Luke doesn't have the words for it, either.]

Did I scare you...? I didn't mean to, I swear.

No, you didn't.

[She's quick to answer him, even if she doesn't elaborate right away. She shakes her head, and smiles as she glances down at him.]

I'm just not used to men treating me the way you do. Like I'm important. I don't feel like I deserve it.

[She knows he's likely to argue, so she keeps her words sounding as detached as possible while still being honest. This is entirely too honest and open for her to be saying to him, but the fact that he has a concussion and clearly is a little out of it makes it easier for her to do it. Maybe he won't remember it later.]

[He might not remember any of this (which means losing his first non-incest kiss, he has awesome luck) but in the moment, it's the most important thing he's ever heard. He grips her hand tighter, tugs on it a bit-- he doesn't have the strength to pull her closer, but that's clearly what he wants.]

You're the most important. [Luke has never been eloquent, but this is a new low.] You're precious. I promise.

[She stares at him for a few prolonged moments, trying to figure out if his words are sincere or caused by a combination of medication and the concussion. There's a quick decision that he means what he says, he just is currently awful at the delivery.

So she moves in closer as he's attempting to guide her into doing, so that he stops tugging and won't hurt himself further. ]

I can't be the most important.

[She mumbles it, feeling uncomfortable with the idea that someone would be able to care for her that much.]

You have family back home, and friends.

[Talking sense to someone in his condition is probably a waste, so she just stays in close to him and stops trying to say anything.]

[Even without a concussion, Luke doesn't rate the importance of his friends and family. Until he's forced to choose, everyone is incredibly important, incredibly precious, fantastical people. However, he knows not to say that, normally, and if he did end up saying it, he'd be able to explain it.]

[But now isn't normal. He rests his head on her shoulder.] You're important to me. You know that, right?

[She feels her heart racing, and wishes she wasn't shit at this kind of thing. She should know what to say, know how to act. She would if this was back with Tobias, and she was living as Sunshine and Luke was just some random guy.

But he's not just some random guy, he means something to her now. And it scares the hell out of her. So she's quiet for a while instead of answering, and leans her head over to rest it against his.]

I do now.

[She finally answers him, voice quiet.]

Thank you for telling me.

[And Luke can wait. He's flailed and whined long enough that he's getting tired, and at the moment it seems like the most natural thing in the world to doze off with his head on her shoulder. But he's not asleep yet. He pets her hand with his, utterly fond in that moment.]

Good. I thought you knew, or I would have said sooner.

We've just started...whatever this is. You're still important to me too, though.

[She can feel him relaxing up against her, and a fond smile crosses over her face as she thinks he might fall asleep. She's a little exhausted herself, after being so busy and not getting enough rest most nights, so she's more than willing to hang around and take a nap.

The hand petting thing is something that makes her want to laugh, because she wonders if he realizes he's doing it. She almost comments on it, but decides to not ruin the moment.]

Time doesn't change anything. [The relative poignancy of those words is somewhat undercut by his words being somewhat slurred by sleep.]

Your hair smells nice.

[Girls: they smell nice.]

Go to sleep, Luke.

[She commands on a laugh, shifting so they can both be a little more comfortable. He's so out of it, he needs to rest. And since she's feeling safe and cozy, it doesn't take her long to start to doze of too.

Whenever he wakes up, she's curled up at his side ~~probably snoring lbr.~~]

[Luke sleeps for several hours, because he honestly needs it. When he wakes up, Cassandra is there, and she's absolutely beautiful in sleep, free from the normal concern that colors her face. Her snoring is also, presumably, beautiful. Luke is not the most unbiased of parties, here.]

[He watches her sleep for a while, before realizing that might be kind of creepy, and instead tries to wake her. He has a few questions, like why she's here, why he's in the infirmary, and where his prosthetic went. He'd be worried, but if she's here, he can't be in too much danger.]

[He kisses her forehead.] Cassandra.

[She's startled awake, hand moving as if she'd be stabbing the person beside her if she had a knife in her hand. Her brain catches up with the situation quickly at least, and she remembers she's with Luke and she's safe. So she relaxes, and drops her hand to her side, smiling over at him.]

Hey.

[Hopefully the slight movement she had made upon waking up just looked like general surprise and not attempted murder. That would be an awkward apology. At least her voice sounds appropriately thick with drowsiness, and she looks happy to be waking up next to him.]

Feeling better?

[Luke wouldn't notice it, if he were anyone else. As it is, he feels the fear and confusion through the Force, and reacts in kind. He holds her close, waiting for her to calm; he doesn't have to wait long.]

It's alright. [He's smiling placidly.] I'm fine. Maybe a little sore. I guess I made it to the infirmary?

[Oh good, he sounds coherent now. That's a step in the right direction.]

I think you have some broken ribs and a concussion, so that could explain the soreness.

[Careful not to shift too much, she rests her head against the edge of his shoulder.}

You don't remember posting on your MID about giant droids and how the nurses won't let you talk to anyone?

That would make sense, after- [Wait.] I did what?

[Luke just kind of stares. Please save him from himself, Cassandra.]

You posted where everyone can see. And I think you tried escaping before I got here, too.

[She laughs as she says it, lifting her head so she can look up at him. She wants to see what his embarrassment looks like.]

It's a good thing I stayed here with you, who knows what else you would've said or done.

[Luke's embarrassment looks like putting his head in his remaining hand and sighing quietly to himself.] How bad was I? [How much does he need to apologize for?]

[She laughs, one of those devious kind of giggles that someone gives when they've got a story to tell but aren't going to fully share it.]

You weren't bad, [She promises, laughing some more.] You were just...out of it. I think you pet me at one point after I kissed you.

I pet you? [You kissed me? But he doesn't say that, though he's rather curious about it. Would he even be any good at kissing? Probably not, so maybe it's good he doesn't remember.]

[...He kind of wishes he remembered.]

[But that's not the point, even if it does take him a good few seconds to stop thinking about it.] Just tell me if I did anything really embarrassing.

I can't tell you if you embarrassed yourself in front of anyone else. But we're good.

[She can honestly tell him that, at least.]

You really don't remember anything?

[It's a little disappointing he doesn't remember the kiss, but that just means he'll get a chance to initiate something himself another time.]
