“Uh,” He hesitates. It wasn’t something he was often asked about, and he doesn’t have a fast response. Strangely, he has to think about it. “Its...bigger.” Another pause that almost seems like he’s going to leave it there. “You have cities on Earth. Like that, I guess. At least where I lived."

He shrugs, looking off to the side. There was probably a more romantic way to describe Meridian City than ‘big’. It was the capital of an entire galaxy, renowned for its beauty, more diverse in sentient life than the entire planet earth, a microcosm of cultural cohesion in a galaxy with ten thousands years of species converging into a coherent, singular society. But he couldn’t really find the words.

“I don’t know, it’s hard to describe a whole galaxy? Maybe someone else could really paint a picture but, I don’t know. It sounds stupid, but….bigger really is the best I can say. I mean, physically, of course, but...it’s all within reach. Distance was a concept conquered by technology a long time ago. It’s….diverse. I could spend all day listing off planets, their native inhabitants, the unique atmospheric conditions, the plants, animals...it still would barely scratch the surface.”

He sighs, a little bit more wistfully than he’d intended, looking back her way.

“I miss that. I grew up a small world, without access to it. It’s the part that I care about, anyway. Being able to go places, you know?”
