When: 15th to early 18th in the medbay, late 18 to the 23rd in the hold
Where: Medbay and the Hold
What: Directly after this. Peter really screwed up and now he's hanging out in the medbay until he recovers. Later he hangs out in the hold. Wanda's around to feild all your questions about how stupid her twin is.

"Oh." The word drops like an overripe apple. (So much for a budding love story.) "Nevermind: if he brought it up, then it was probably all about fighting." Fighting was what he did. It could stand as its own explanation.

Peter's disgust is like rain over parched soil, or it would be if they'd been antagonizing him on purpose. As it is Chara's face is a darkening red, and they're trying very hard not to look as embarrassed as they are.

"Of course it was about fighting. No one would have ever though otherwise." When he gets out he really should try to find some real love stories for the kid. Ones with less murder and more normal relationships.

But he also feels a little bad beyond the disturbed because Chara looks embarrassed about it. "Look, we don't ever have to bring this up again. Alright? This conversation never had to happen, if you want."

And Peter himself wouldn't mind trying to forget anyone suggested he was dating his teacher or that the murderous program he'd tried to kill was in love with him.

[heart_breaking]

"Fine," Chara says shortly. There's a mutinous look in their eye, but it's not nearly strong enough for them to defend their assumptions. Knowing him, he'd probably just shoot right back that 'manga' and 'classic literature' aren't good arguments. (What an illiterate prick.)

"The rest of this conversation's trash, too. I point out the obvious, you reject it, both of us start over... It's pointless, and I'm leaving."

If Peter hadn't just said he was willing to drop the conversation, he'd point out nothing about assuming a romance between him and Alice or Rinzler was obvious. Instead, he rolls his eyes, patience thinning again.

"Go on, then. This isn't a place for a kid anyway." He'll dutifully ignore that Chara has been here before. It was hot and there was a murderer around. Peter would rather the child be someplace better instead of around this anyway. "Go do whatever you do and let me serve my time by napping."

[heart_breaking]

"Of course," they snarl. "Wouldn't want to interrupt your beauty sleep." Did he somehow forget that Chara's been in these cells longer than Peter has? Anger burns in their chest, and they take a moment to relish it in sheer spite.

Chara turns. "I hope you get screaming nightmares," they throw back, storming to the hall's exit. There's no way to get at him now without being expelled from the Hold, but maybe if they can come up with a better plan for later... Yeah, that might work.

[takeitslow]

"Always nice to see you too Chara!" He yells after the kid, heat coloring his tone. Peter sighs, bangs his hand against the wall. As much as he wants to like the child, his frustration is getting the better of him again. It really was for the best to drive Chara off.

Still he looks down the hall and watched the child leave the best he can. Just in case. Chara does have to pass Rinzler's cell. It's not like he's worried about the little twerp or anything, it's just a mild precaution. And if he looks a little relieved when the child finally exits the area, well. It's not like anyone's around to see it.
