What: Directly after this. Peter really screwed up and now he's hanging out in the medbay until he recovers. Later he hangs out in the hold. Wanda's around to feild all your questions about how stupid her twin is.

You did have a choice. You made the choice. I can't say whether it was the right one or not. I wasn't in your shoes.

[ And that's why she really can't make judgment calls. In the moment, Peter felt cornered, and she'll be honest: if she had been in his shoes, she might have just tried to murder Rinzler too. It's really all she knows to do now. And if he had gone after her or someone she cared for-- Well, perhaps she should be grateful that she's kept her distance from people.

Her frown is obvious, tense at his response. ]

But he could have.

[ And she realizes, dimly, that this would have hurt her too. ]

People...knew what he was doing before now, and they've done nothing? Not even the captains? Don't they care?

A choice between doing something and letting someone I care about get hurt, isn't a choice.

[He couldn't see any other path beyond the two extremes, stuck in the flawed thinking of a teenager who'd never face a real threat or real consequences before.]

Almost did. [He shrugs. He can't say it didn't scare him, at the time. The pain and the feeling of his own morality slipping through his fingers. But it hadn't happened, he'd somehow lived. And whatever. It's not like he wanted to die, he liked living and being here. But he knew now it was a possibility if he kept trying to look after his own and he could make peace with that.]

I don't think the captains care much about us outside of the free labor. They're still pulling the whole 'don't know how you got here' thing with the Ingress so maybe they really don't want us around in the first place.
