open;
Who: Peter and you.
When: 15-20th
Where: Lounge/Mess/Hallways
What: Peter avoids dealing with life via games, TV, and being an annoyance
Warnings: Will update as needed.
Lounge;
[For several days, Peter takes control of the TV in the lounge. At first it was trying to learn the games that BB had left him, but after talking to Wanda its become his way to stop thinking about his conversation with Wanda. It's hard to think about the death of his alternate dimension self when playing Mario Cart.
Maybe he invited you over to play a few rounds. Maybe you catch him watching 90s comedy shows at four in the morning. Maybe you just want to yell at the kid who's been hogging the TV all day and has the volume turned up way too loud on Duck Hunt.]
Mess Hall and Cafe;
[What's another great way to avoid feelings? Eating.
Peter has commandeered a table to himself and has gathered a huge mess from the sheer amount he's packing away. He looks like the food has personally offended him, glaring down at every bite and stabbing everything viciously with his fork. Someone's moved into the anger portion of the process.
You could approach, but that glare says you might not like what happens when you do.]
Hallways;
[And now he's moved into follow someone around and annoy them part of the process.]
I'm just saying, if you work for a family like that, you don't get away with being dicks to them. No rich person is putting up with that.
[He's spent the past few minutes explaining the plot of 'Fresh Prince' to you. Engage?]

[Does Peter look a little outraged? Because he is. He thought hearing Ed's story was bad.]
Took prisoners? Dude, what was the issue that your were fighting over?
Right. Africa. [One of those places he's only sort of aware exists. He's got a lot to thank the US education system for.]
It's not complacency, it's just seeing this place as better to the alternative. [He shrugs.] We'll find out what they're up to eventually. And if it's bad? Well, more of us than them.

[Sure, he was fighting even before that, but the second he'd escaped from his handlers as a kid he was doing things for himself and no one else.]
...Everything? We weren't exactly a bunch of ideologues at the time. We were mostly angry at something or other, and that's what we decided to do about it, essentially.
I guess. [Liquid's dead. It is absolutely one hundred percent better than the alternative for him.] I'd still rather keep an eye out even if we'll find out eventually. Best to find out early on than to discover things when it's too late.

Which all sounds like a lot of work. [And exactly like what Al had been trying to goad him into doing.] I think I'll leave that to people like you to deal with.

But all that's far behind me.
[He can totally understand not wanting to to a lot of work, though. He's usually pretty big on getting things done, but sometimes it's a lot and he'd rather just not. Usually when paperwork is involved.]
And that's perfectly viable. Still, nothing wrong with at least being a little alert, just in case. Not that you'd have to waste any amount of time on it.

[He doesn't look at all convinced, but he's willing to let it go.]
My idea of wasting time probably isn't anything like your's. [His concept of time is different, for one.] But it's not like I'm staying blind. Just not doing anything about it.
no subject
Well, at least there's that, then.
So how about we get to the punching instead? [He gestures towards the TV.]
no subject
Yeah. Sounds like a plan, dude.

I'm known for plans. Glad to see I'm still good at it.

[Aaaand commence video game times.]
