Lounge;

[For several days, Peter takes control of the TV in the lounge. At first it was trying to learn the games that BB had left him, but after talking to Wanda its become his way to stop thinking about his conversation with Wanda. It's hard to think about the death of his alternate dimension self when playing Mario Cart.

Maybe he invited you over to play a few rounds. Maybe you catch him watching 90s comedy shows at four in the morning. Maybe you just want to yell at the kid who's been hogging the TV all day and has the volume turned up way too loud on Duck Hunt.]

Mess Hall and Cafe;

[What's another great way to avoid feelings? Eating.

Peter has commandeered a table to himself and has gathered a huge mess from the sheer amount he's packing away. He looks like the food has personally offended him, glaring down at every bite and stabbing everything viciously with his fork. Someone's moved into the anger portion of the process.

You could approach, but that glare says you might not like what happens when you do.]

Hallways;

[And now he's moved into follow someone around and annoy them part of the process.]

I'm just saying, if you work for a family like that, you don't get away with being dicks to them. No rich person is putting up with that.

[He's spent the past few minutes explaining the plot of 'Fresh Prince' to you. Engage?]

Yeah, I'm pretty new. [Not a newbie as such but he's still green to the place.]

Fine. I've met some of my comrades from my home here. They've been helping me settle in.

[takeitslow]

Yeah? A bunch come in from your world? Lucky you. I've only seen that a few times.

[Just the monsters, the robots and Wanda's team, as far as he knew. But they were also the only one's he'd asked.]

Ocelot and Kazuhira Miller from my world. [The closest friends anyone could have in his opinion.]

My body double and step-sons are here too; Big Boss, Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. Heard of them?

[takeitslow]

Step-sons, huh? Yeah, I've met Liquid recently. Nice guy. That you apparently let join the army way young. [There's something pointed in his voice. Not quite judgment, but still sharp.]

[cardboard_boss]

I didn't have anything to do with him growing up, since for nine years I was in a coma. [Yeah, he felt sort of helpless at that.]

I'm not his biological father either; Big Boss is.

[takeitslow]

Coma?

Wait. I thought you said Big Boss was your stepson? How are they both your stepsons? Did you marry the mother of your kid's kid?

[cardboard_boss]

No. You're getting confused.

[He sighed.]

Big Boss is the same man as me. I'm his double. We're both around the same age. Solid and Liquid Snake our my step-sons and Big Boss's real sons. [Get that, Peter?]

[takeitslow]

[He's just going to stare for a moment, eyes narrowing.]

So you married your double? What's a double?

[cardboard_boss]

[You've got the wrong end of the stick, Peter.]

I never married anyone. It's complicated. I'm a double of Big Boss, created to be a decoy for him. [Which he didn't even know about until last month.]

I woke up from a nine year coma believing I was Big Boss.

[takeitslow]

Created. Like a clone?

[It's not quite sinking in for Peter.]

Did they brainwash you into it? Did you mean to be like him? What's up with that?

[cardboard_boss]

You could say that yeah. [Snake still found it hard to believe that for nine years he was being brainwashed, or rather, hypnotised to believe he was Big Boss.]

Hypnotised when I was in the coma. A guy named Zero planned the whole thing from the start. Got my friends involved too. It was a cover up to make sure the real Big Boss got away safely.

[takeitslow]

That's kind of freaky man.

[Says the kid who's recently found out there are at least two other versions of himself out in the multiverse.]

Like, really heavy kind of shit. Must make it pretty weird for you, even if it was for a good cause.

[cardboard_boss]

[Freaky? Yeah. Just a bit.]

When I woke up I had no idea who I was or what was going on. The hospital got attacked by armed men and a bandaged stranger helped get me out. [Big Boss.]

[takeitslow]

Yeah? [He keeps staring, obviously interested in the story.] And then what happened?

[cardboard_boss]

After the bandaged guy got me out we faced a burning man. He was on fire and could absorb any attack thrown at him. Bullets, RPGS, helicopter Vulcan gun bullets. Anything. Just threw it back at them in stronger force.

[Yeah. Snake remembered that. All of it.]

[takeitslow]

He was on fire. And it wasn't killing him. [The disbelief, confusion, must be rich coming from a mutant.] What was he some kind of superhuman?

[cardboard_boss]

No. The fire seemed to surround him, as if it were feeding his rage. This guy was all rage. [He seemed pretty angry to Ahab anyway.]

Yeah, you could say that. Big damn man on fire with nothing to stop him.

[takeitslow]

Sounds like some kind of mutation to me.

[Because meeting all of three others in his lifetime makes him an expert, clearly.]

How did you stop him?

[cardboard_boss]

We didn't, or I didn't. No one could stop him. I got picked up in an ambulance driven by the bandaged guy then we crashed. [After that he blacked out and Ishmael had gone.]

Ocelot picked me up on horseback after I blacked out. Pulled me from the ambulance.

[takeitslow]

So you just left him out there to set fire to stuff.

[Which, fair enough. It's what Peter would have done, on all honesty.]

Ocelot?

[cardboard_boss]

Couldn't exactly do much since I was pumped full of drugs so I could walk. The guy was unstoppable. Already tried slamming a whole clip into him with no effect.

[So leaving him? Probably the best thing.]

The guy who looks like a cowboy aboard the ship. He's my close friend. Lover.

[takeitslow]

Hey. No judgement. If I saw a guy on fire, I'd be taking off in the first millisecond.

[Peter only engages in fights on the behalf of his sisters, everything else is just a god excuse to use his powers to leave.]

I think I've seen him around, but can't say I've spoken to him.

[cardboard_boss]

Yeah. This guy was insane. [As in seriously psychotic.]

He's an interrogation specialist. Spends most of his time in sick bay when he's at work.

[takeitslow]

I haven't spent much time around there so I guess that's why.

[Other than when Alice had taken him there and even then he'd mostly stuck to her side.]

But hey, good for you. Seems like you've got a lot of your people around.

[cardboard_boss]

Yeah. Having Kaz and Ocelot here has helped a lot. [He'd be pretty lost otherwise. Emotionally more than anything else. Having Big Boss here without hearing the Truth would have blown his mind.]

Ever think you're going mad aboard this place? I've felt that happen to me a couple of times.
