Who: Eggsy
commontype & Gregor
lets_see_what_happens
When: Backdated just a few days
Where: The Kvortira
What: Talking about stuff
Warnings: Kissing and general fooling around
Eggsy had needed some time. It didn't have anything to do with Gregor, he'd just needed to get his shit together.
He'd be lying if he didn't admit that the rejection had stung, though he was the type to bounce back, but it was more than that. It left him feeling like he had no fucking idea what he was doing. Eggsy was good at reading people, at least in a general sense, and he never asked anyone out that he wasn't positive they'd say yes.
That's what had got to him. He'd read it so wrong. He'd thought Gregor liked him, would want to go out with him, and when he'd said no, Eggsy felt off balance. Like something was different about himself and he couldn't read situations the way he used to. He thought that it might be because he's in space or that he'd died or all of it, but he'd assumed wrong and embarrassed them both.
Harry had helped. He'd told him to man up and given him a glass of whiskey. Then he'd shared a bit of information about a book, some coincidental names, and it didn't take Eggsy long to figure it out. Gregor was an emperor, which he was still wrapping his head around, and there was a small thread of hope that maybe that had something to do with why he'd turned Eggsy down. He wasn't sure, but he wouldn't know unless he asked. He also wanted to promise that he wasn't a snitch, just so he wouldn't worry. Especially now that Miles knew that Eggsy knew.
First things first. He knocks on the door, this time, and waits for Gregor to answer.

First things first. He knocks on the door, this time, and waits for Gregor to answer.

"Eggsy," he says, his voice mild but his eyes searching, intent on Eggsy's face. After the mortifying hash he'd made of Eggsy's request for a date, Gregor doesn't assume Eggsy is here to talk to him. "Miles and Ivan are both out, at present--is there something I can do for you?"
no subject
"I ain't here to see Miles or Ivan. Came here to see you."
He shrugs, then shuffles forward, turning to the side at the last moment to slip past Gregor. His elbow brushes Gregor's chest on the dismount, and he sucks in, turning when he's well past and in the room.
"Don't mean to be invitin' myself in, manners and all that, but we need to talk."
no subject
"No--no, it's fine. You're welcome here." He controls his expression with an effort and nods, resisting the temptation to swallow hard.
"What did you want to talk about?"
no subject
He raises both brows, lifting his shoulders in a soft shrug that falls slowly, awkwardly. Eggsy shoves his hands into his pockets, rocking on his heels.
"Uh, someone told me bout this book. It had all sorts of names and stuff in it, and it didn't really take me long to figure out that the man in the book was your father."
Eggsy smiles then, all the surprise he'd bottled up spilling out, tugging his hands out of his pocket to gesture at Gregor.
"How'd you even manage that? Bein' an emperor. It must've been hard."
no subject
"I see," he says instead, his voice very tightly controlled and his expression quickly compressed to a flat, unreadable blankness. "Can you please tell me where this book is right now?"
no subject
Eggsy's smile falters, shoulders falling a little, and even though he thought this might be a possibility as something that could come up, he hadn't been ready for it.
"Ivan's got it. Told Miles that he did, so I'm sure it's taken care of, yeah?"
He's trying really hard not to slip right back out of the room, to back out now before that expression on Gregor's face, which Eggsy doesn't like, turns to something even worse. The tone, too, it makes him uncomfortable, like he's done something wrong. Which is weird, cause when someone's pissed at Eggsy they usually yell and swing a fist, not go all blank and distant.
It's unsettling and he hates it.
no subject
"Thank you," he says, still polite, watching Eggsy slump slightly in place. He swallows, and his voice is very neutral when he speaks again.
"How did you find out, if the book is in Ivan's possession? And--and when?"
no subject
"Someone I know had it show up in the post. They gave it to Ivan after."
He clears his throat, shuffling his feet.
"After Pepper's Valentine's party. After I left."
no subject
"If you aren't telling me, it's because you trust whoever it is, I'm assuming. Never mind. I don't--" Gregor stops as that second piece of information penetrates the cover-blown panic clouding him. He looks almost startled.
"Wait--you asked me out before you knew?"
no subject
Eggsy raises a brow, nodding slowly, trying to insinuate that Gregor knows who it is. He can't tell him who it is, but there's only so many people that Eggsy trusts.
"Course, Greg. What's you bein' an emperor got to do wit- oh."
He'd thought of that, briefly. Miles had explained why he thought Gregor would have turned him down, but had admitted that he wasn't sure of Gregor's reasons. Eggsy tries to keep the hopeful look off his face, failing miserably.
"I ain't tryin' to get all hopeful, but is that why? Cause you's royalty and you couldn't tell me that you are?"
no subject
"I thought it would be... unfair. To have a relationship with anyone and not tell them something so important--so integral to myself. I know it sounds stupid all the way out here, but it's been who I am since I was four. It is not... divisible. But at the same time, if I did tell someone, not only does it become an automatic security risk--regardless of their own individual integrity--" he flips a hand palm-out at Eggsy, placating, "--it also makes it difficult to be... sure. Why someone would want--well. I assumed people would fall into the categories of 'too interested' and 'running howling in the other direction, quite sensibly'. But... you asked before you knew. And now you're here.
"I admit, I am a bit at a loss. I was not laboring under the impression that 'royalty' was really your style."
no subject
Eggsy's eyes flick down, narrowed but unfocused as he mulls it all over.
"Why would someone want you." He rolls his eyes, huffing out a breath and taking another step closer. That was fucking ridiculous, in his opinion. "I get the security risk, that it'd be hard to know if someone only wanted ya because of that. I even get not wantin' to scare people away, but."
He shrugs his shoulders, hands flipped up and out, brows raised.
"Royalty ain't my style. That shit don't matter to me. It's about this, us. Whatever it is." Christ, Gregor, don't let him flounder here. "I liked ya before, and I like ya now."
no subject
"I've never, er. Actually... done this before. To be honest." He swallows, struggling to meet Eggsy's eyes. "I suppose I've never really been allowed. But I'm fond of you, too. I mean, I--hmm." He clears his throat. "Things are... different, here."
no subject
Eggsy's a little breathless all of the sudden, his eyes widening as he steps towards Gregor.
"Like ya like that." He gestures towards Gregor's cheeks, the blush there. "Never dated someone before or never gone out with a man?" He's assuming probably both, considering Gregor's role back in his home.
"Then if we're both fond of each other, and things can be different here, why don't you let me take you out. Come to my room or somethin', watch one of my films with me."
no subject
He shakes his head a little. "Neither," he admits, turning a hand palm-out, his mouth tilting to one side. "Not really. But I--I'd like that, I think. Very much."
no subject
"Well, I ain't got nothin' to do right now, so let's hang out."
Eggsy's still not quite as confident as normal, trying to show some restraint so he doesn't scare Gregor off again. He places a hand on Gregor's shoulder, resting it there with a questioning quirk of his brow.
no subject
"Sounds good," he murmurs, lips still close before he draws back again, his hazel eyes bright as they search Eggsy's face.
no subject
"Greg."
He pulls back enough to be sure, just to give the man time to really pull away if he didn't want this. Eggsy was one for taking risks, to giving something all he had, and after a few seconds pass, he tips his head and kisses Gregor again, lips parted and his body pressed flush.
no subject
"Oh," Gregor says stupidly when Eggsy draws back, winding his own arms tighter around Eggsy, one hand curling at the nape of Eggsy's neck as he leans down again, pressing into the kiss with intent now. Their mouths slide together for a long moment, Gregor's movements slow and deliberate even to the careful press of his palm at the base of Eggsy's spine to keep him close as he drags himself back again, looking somehow dazed and intensely focused at the same time.
"Is this what you meant by 'hang out?" he asks, a low thrum of amusement in his voice and his face still close to Eggsy's, his eyes very bright.
no subject
"Nah, but ain't gonna hear me complainin' if this is the kind of hangin' out we're doing."
His mouth curves up in a lazy grin, and his eyes flick down to Gregor's mouth, then back up again to meet those dark eyes.
"But if we was gonna hang out like this, I'd rather it be somewhere more private."
no subject
"What did you initially have in mind, then?" he asks, curiosity piqued. "Do bear in mind I've not actually dated anyone before. And even if I had, it wouldn't have been much like this."
no subject
"Nothin' specific. Just us doin' somethin'."
Eggsy drops down off his tiptoes, but keeps close, arms loose around Gregor's shoulders.
"What would it have been like? Datin' back home."
no subject
no subject
"Why didn't ya let it? If I can ask that."
He's not sure how he would feel about an arranged marriage, suffocated maybe, but if he had to and it was for a good reason, he probably would.
no subject
"There are... a lot of reasons," Gregor admits. "And some of them are political, and some of them are extremely private. But a lot of it was that everyone who asked me to be Empress mostly seemed interested in being Empress. It's not a job that should go to someone who wants it too badly, however else they felt about marrying me."
no subject
Eggsy lets his eyes fall shut and grows silent, pressing another soft kiss, and another, further down Gregor's throat. He doesn't realize until the fourth or fifth time he's done it, that Greg's talking to him and he can't seem to keep his hands to himself. With a sigh, he slides his hands up to Gregor's chest, leveraging himself backwards to look at him, but not actually putting any space between them.
"Don't seem right that they wasn't tryin' to marry you for you."
He swallows once, eyes flicking down to Gregor's mouth, and then sighs again.
"Unless you're in the mood for a good snog, we should probably decide what we wanna do and go do it."
no subject
He shivers and sighs, tipping his head back as Eggsy tracks kisses down his throat. His chin comes back down as Eggsy draws away again, visibly attempting some self-control even as his eyes drag down to Gregor's mouth again. Gregor watches him, almost fascinated, one hand slipping up to stroke delicate fingertips down Eggsy's cheek, lingering at the corner of his mouth.
"I'm open to suggestions," he says, his own eyes dragging up from Eggsy's mouth, bright and intent.
no subject
As much as Eggsy was trying to control himself, to dial back what he thought was a case of some pretty intense attraction, it wasn't really worth it. Not when Gregor was looking at him like that, touching his face, fingers close to his mouth. Not when it was pretty obvious to Eggsy that Gregor wouldn't be against a good snog, and who was he to deny a man like Gregor anything that he wants. Especially when Eggsy wanted it, too.
"Hope you're as strong as you look."
It's about as much warning as Eggsy gives before he tugs Gregor down and forward by his lapels, pressing their mouths together. In a rather fluid movement, he gets his arms back Greg's shoulders, and pushes them both backwards towards the bed.
no subject
"I suppose rescuing kidnapped children counts as a first date," he murmurs, then kisses Eggsy again, just a soft brush of lips.
no subject
He straddles Gregor, breathless for a moment as he settles on top of the other man, his head tipping into Gregor's hand.
"What a wild first date, yeah?" And he leans down to return the kiss, pressing another one before drawing back slightly. "I like that." He reaches up, and traces the corner of Gregor's mouth, fingers brushing his temple.
"When ya look at me that way. S' nice."
no subject
"Look at you what way?" he asks, his free arm settling snugly around Eggsy's waist.
no subject
He doesn't lean in to kiss Gregor again, instead his eyes flick down and outline the man's features. Chin, lips, cheeks, eyebrows, as Eggsy's brows crinkle and his face scrunches up in concentration.
"Ain't nobody ever looked at me that way."
no subject
Gregor's focus sharpens again, intent on Eggsy's face. He reaches up to touch, his fingers tracing the arch of one eyebrow, along his hairline, the curve of his cheekbone down to the corner of his mouth, as though he's trying to memorize Eggsy's face by touch.
"You are special, Eggsy. I don't know how to tell you how much. I--" He takes a shaky breath, then lets it out on a sigh. "You're the first person I've ever known to know what--to know who I really am and to not treat me different than you would anyone else." His brow furrows, searching for words and coming up empty.
"I don't begrudge anyone else their behavior, I truly don't, but--do you know how amazing that is? It's something I value more than I know how to say. It's... incredible. You're incredible."
no subject
"Oh."
His face flushes, both hands coming up to rest on either side of Gregor's face, letting his body fall forward gently to press up against him. It brings Eggsy even closer, his breath coming out in shallow gasps against Gregor's chin.
"You can't just say stuff like that."
He has absolutely no idea what to say, how to express how much that means to him. Nobody's ever said anything like that to Eggsy before, and he's reveling in it, caught unaware and moved by it all.
"I'm gonna kiss you now." And he hopes that Gregor understands, that he gets why Eggsy doesn't know what to say, how much he feels about everything Gregor just told him. Eggsy tips Gregor's chin down, scoots up, and presses their mouths together, looping his arms around Gregor's head so that he can play with his hair while they kiss.
no subject
"Sorry," he says, his fingers curling against the nape of Eggsy's neck. "I think. But I meant it. I--oh." But then Eggsy is kissing him again, soft and warm, and Gregor melts into it and closes his eyes, his own hands wandering lazily.
no subject
"Didn't really mean that, yeah? Guess I don't know how to take a compliment."
He sighs softly, and then he can't maintain the eye contact anymore, so he makes a huffing sound and drops his head down to the bed just over Gregor's shoulder. He tucks his face in, voice low and muffled.
"S' the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."
no subject
"Oh," he says again softly, not quite knowing how to respond to that except to tighten his grip, one hand sliding to stroke along the nape of Eggsy's neck.
no subject
He stays there a moment longer, breathing in deeply, enjoying how comfortable this all feels, and then he turns his face into Gregor's neck and kisses him. Soft, light kisses that curve up towards his ear and then down his jaw.
no subject
"They should," Gregor says, so relaxed he sounds almost drowsy, one hand smoothing down Eggsy's back then back up. "You are."
no subject
It's not his fault, at all, but Gregor's, when his body responds to it. It's not super sudden, but fast enough that Eggsy doesn't quite manage to pull his body away. Maybe Gregor won't say anything. Eggsy stops moving, shifting up further on his knees, cheeks flushed. He pushes up on his palms and abruptly rolls off Gregor, throwing an arm over his face to cover his eyes.
"For fuck's sake. Me body's actin' like it's fifteen again," he says, a touch dramatic to hide the fact that he's a little ashamed that he actually isn't as embarrassed by it as he should be.
