[closed] I'm not the man I used to be

Who: Liquid and Venom Snake
When: 5th March onwards
Where: The Training Room
What: Venom meets up with Liquid to discuss possible family issues. Possible punching session might ensue.
Warnings: Anger, violence, possibly angst, lots of Snakes.

There were a lot of questions regarding Venom Snake and his identity right now. A man known as Liquid Snake aka. Eli presumed he was his father. It was proved on Mother Base that the boy didn't bare any biological resemblance to him, due to evidence from a DNA test. Yet, years later, this grown man seemed to harbour a grudge against Venom, even though he wasn't actually his father. Perhaps, Eli didn't know the results proved negative. It now came down to Snake standing in the centre of the Training Room aboard the ship just pondering. He needed to speak to Eli to clear the air more than anything else. Would he want to lay a few punched at his "dad"? Who knew.

All he did know was that he'd be ready for it.

How bizarre would it be if Liquid managed to kill Venom when he actually wasn't trying to? Now that'd be something. Still, this time he actually wanted his opponent alive.

Imagine telling that to his kid self.

"Good. Wouldn't want to tire you out already, old man." His hands spread out in a dramatic, taunting gesture. "Well, come on then."

what is this... 'being nice'...

"Well, there isn't anyone else in here, is there?" He still wished he had a knife, even if he wouldn't be using it in this fight anyway. It was kind of a comfort thing, in a way.

Liquid anticipated the movement, figuring out the best time to turn and dodge. He was a little off, though, and while he didn't get grabbed, he did get hit. Still, he didn't let that dissuade him, deciding to go the direct route with a punch towards the gut.

Re: such a disappointment, Liquid...

"Afraid to have other people watch you lose?" Liquid had grown up, yes. And maybe even matured a little. But only a little.

Missing his punch happened all too fast, and Liquid had to take a moment to balance himself. "Shit!" he hissed, trying to move out of the way, but Venom had managed to grab his leg. Okay, okay, so he had to work on a few things. He was a little taller than he'd slowly gotten used to being (Ocelot's body was a hell of a lot different from his own, after all), and that had disoriented him a bit. Just a body discrepancy, no big deal. Grunting, he aimed to kick Venom with his ungrabbed leg.

"Is that what you're calling it?" Even when he didn't have the upper hand, Liquid wasn't going to stop taunting people. It was just the way he was. And, really, he didn't want to admit he didn't have the upper hand.

Even when he was going down.

In an instant Venom spun him around and he found himself pinned to the ground. "Get off!" he shouted, thrashing around, trying to get a blow in any way possible.

Liquid did all he could to get out of Venom's grip, but it was clear all his dramatics and theatrics couldn't get him out of this embarrassing loss. He let out one wordless shout of anger, in a final effort to tear himself away, but Venom ended up getting up anyway.

Quality time, right.

Glaring, he stood up, angry as ever. "Would've done better if I hadn't just finished getting used to being Ocelot," he muttered. Liquid was not a graceful loser. In fact... despite looking like he was done, he suddenly ran towards Venom, looking to tackle him.

"Oh, shut up." It really was true, though, that he was having trouble adjusting to his own body. It'd be fine in due time, but right now it was making fighting kind of hard. Didn't mean he wasn't trying, though.

He thought maybe he'd have the element of surprise on his side, but Ahab managed to dodge and it took all Liquid could do to stay upright. He dodged the kick but ended up taking the elbow anyway, grunting. Again, he tried to rush towards Venom.

He didn't like to give up.

It wasn't like he was spending time thinking up comebacks.

Liquid was fast, but also getting way too reckless now, and Venom managed to grab him. Still, he put up as big a fight as he could, trying to kick and elbow his way out of his grip. Anything he could do to get away and retaliate, he'd try.

Had it been any other situation, Liquid probably would have been better focused, less wild, less reckless. Not massively so, but enough for more precision. But anger was high, he was indeed frustrated, and he was beyond thinking ahead now.

"I don't need your advice!" he shouted, trying to tear himself out of Venom's grip. Yeah, he wasn't doing so great.

Liquid gritted his teeth, but maybe stopped struggling so much. He was an adult. He wasn't that hotheaded kid he used to be. He was... a hotheaded adult, but, well, he was supposed to be grown. Not thrashing around throwing a goddamn tantrum.

Or maybe he was just planning on biding his time for now. Who knew? "I am calm," he insisted, sneering.

"Am not." Liquid's first instinct (beyond, of course, the fighting instinct), was to argue. Even if what he said was true (and, well, it was), Liquid didn't want to admit it. "I'm still getting used to myself." Excuses.

The sorest loser, that was Liquid Snake. But he was also goddamn persistent. Unfortunately he was also getting kind of tired of all his flailing around, so his attempts weren't so good this time around.

Tired and frustrated and on a constant crusade to never give up, Liquid ended up getting caught in the hold anyway. And it was useless, in the end; why keep up the flailing? Wasn't like it was an important fight to not lose. It was just supposed to be training, anyway. He sighed. "This never happened," he muttered.
