What: Team meeting for "who goes where", and probably a goodbye or two.

The last time the gang split up, resulting in death mazes, fainting spells and Hunk swearing. So, when the station began to tilt into shutdown, and there came talk of branching out, of finding the necessary resources, it was time for a meeting. Time to put everyone on the same page, make sure everyone was okay, and they had a plan.

They're not the only ones here ensuring the success or failure of the station, but they're still a team. Time to start functioning like one again.

He'll ping everyone's device. And hope the life support to their section of the Suites lasts long enough to get this done.

I had a feeling you wouldn't be. Honestly, I'm glad you're not. It's just...

[He sighs and runs a hand through his hair.]

It shouldn't feel so...normal. Why does this have to feel normal for you?

[He finds himself looking at his hands.]

For all of my power, I can't even make you guys happy. You're all granted a brief respite from the war and I can't do anything.

[Because we're soldiers now. He thinks. He thinks and shoves it aside. As true as it is, it's not the best answer.]

Defenders of the universe don't get days off, man. Just... how things go.

[No days off, no telling which mission will be the last. Or if you're ever going to see your friends or family... again.]

That's wrong. You can be heroes without losing your sense of...self? Sense of what's normal. Thinking like that is what prepares people to die and that...shouldn't be the norm. This...isn't how it should be.

And I know it's not my job. But someone has to take care of you guys because you're so bad at doing it yourselves!

Just another reason to end the war... then everyone gets a vacation.

[They'd had a respite though, hadn't they? If only for a little while, they'd had something close to a normal life, back in that house.]

So do that by staying here. Making sure people get to safe rooms in one piece. One less thing for us to worry about.

Meanwhile, I worry about you. And Pidge. And Hunk. And Allura and her father.

With all due respect, Shiro, don't you think those kids deserve something nice? A break? Even if it's for a day.

When you come back from this...when you and Alfor come back, we're getting together to figure out what we can do to take some of the stress off. A day planetside, something.

Just because we don't have a house doesn't mean everything is changed.

[He doesn't raise his voice. If anything, it's quieter than usual. Somehow more steel than usual.]

I... did everything I could -- to give them a normal life. I still think they deserve it.

We just... can't afford to give it to each other right now.

Hey. Hey. None of that. No blame game. If there's anything I've learned, it's that casting blame, even on yourself, solves nothing.

You know I'm just saying this to give you some perspective, right? I'm trying to do things for the group, little by little. Trying to go on some fun adventures. Make some good memories.

You deserve to be a part of that too.

[He's caught, for a second, between shoving his hand through his hair, and jamming his helmet on. Whichever means he doesn't have to look anyone in the eye while he gets his composure back.]

I wish I could think about that right now.

Maybe that's your job, while we're gone. Figure out the next move.
