I've Been Down With A Broken Heart

Who: Rogue, and you
When: Month of January
Where: On the station
What: Denial is a hell of a drug, and the hangovers are worse.
Warnings: CW for inevitable mentions of torture and murder.

The Devil Gave Me A Crooked Soul- girl talk with ka
Rogue went from the arena straight back to the station, stopping only to exchange a few gems for a large bottle of what she was told was alcoholic. Things had already been hard this month, with the Professor and Logan both gone, but finally recognizing Erik for who he was? That easily topped it.

She'd been so stupid- it was right there in front of her. Logan had made a few comments, the Professor had called Magneto Erik around her, but she hadn't wanted it to be true. Unfortunately she couldn't pretend anymore.

So she was just going to ignore her emotions for a little while. What better way to do it than with a drink?

Hoping against hope that Kelly Ann was in her room, Rogue made her way there, before knocking on the door a bit loudly. "Kelly Ann? It's Rogue- can I come in?" She was going to come in anyway, like it or not.

When He Gave Me Crooked Feet- general mopiness.
The next few days, Rogue is scarce. She keeps to her room, and when she's not there, she's in the gym. She's running laps, lifting weights, or her personal favorite: beating up a punching bag. She's been training long enough that she's confident in her ability at the gym, but she's been there a bit too much lately, pushing herself harder.

Logan, she hopes, would be proud.

But he's not even here, which makes this whole thing worse. There's no one from her time here, among their kind. Laura was from her future, Peter and Kurt her past. No one she could talk to who knew where she was coming from. She'd gone to Kelly Ann, sure, but that was mostly out of need for a drinking partner.

Apart from that, she won't bring the issue at hand to anyone's attention. It's none of their business, why she's so upset with Erik (Magneto, she reminds herself), and what happened to her. She'd had enough memory sharing for one life time here, and she didn't intend to do anymore.

But Gabriel Done Came To Me- meditation in the garden
Truthfully, the only reason right now that Rogue bothers to come to the garden is that she's got shin splints from all the running she's been doing. Which means it's time to take a few days off of cardio and lifting.

Meditation is something she'd been doing with the Professor, trying to get to the bottom of her powers, of her as a person. She'd never really come to enjoy it, but it was as good an excuse for a change of scenery as any. So Rogue takes to the garden, setting out a mat. She starts with yoga, first, before moving into the actual meditation bit.

Closing her eyes, she lays her gloved hands on her knees and sits cross-legged.

How people do this regularly, she has no freaking clue.

And Kissed Me In My Sleep- wild card!

Kelly Ann hears the knock so she knows it's not Peter. Which is good, that means she gets Pino for a little bit longer. "Oh, hey, come on in! Are you hungry? I grabbed some fruit on the planet and I've just been cutting it up and seeing what it tastes like."

Probably not the best way to explore, but she has an epipen ready and Medbay on speed dial on her ACE in case things go haywire.

But when she looks up and sees the expression on Rogue's face, she knows something is Up.

"Did something happen?"

Kelly Ann's eyebrows raise at Rogue's explanation. "Sure."

She grabs a couple beakers-turned-glasses from the kitchenette. "I have more time anyway now that the Professor's gone." She frowns a little. All the other mutant kids were pretty close with the guy. And Logan, who's also gone. All that's left is that super intense Magneto guy, who doesn't strike Kelly Ann as particularly like, paternal or mentory or... nice. "Kinda sucks, though. He was pretty cool."

The shot Rogue pours is generous but Kelly Ann just goes with it. "The upside is that with the Professor gone I don't have any more lit reading to do. So more free time for shit like this, right?" She toasts and then swallows it. It burns and tastes faintly of cherry.

"If he wanted to have a say in what you do, he should have stayed," she says. A sentiment that had been used to justify a lot of things she shouldn't have done in her life and definitely not a decision-making process she's going to examine now. "Why would he think you're an idiot? Are you not supposed to miss him or something?"

"There's always a fucking bright side," Kelly Ann says with all the gallows humor of somebody raised by the tender care of the California state foster care system. "And I'm real good at finding them."

Everything Rogue says gets worse and worse. But Kelly Ann is still stunned at the name.

She blinks, brain catching up. "What that like. Super fucking intense dude?" She pauses and processes this a bit more. "Whoa."

It isn't all that surprising. Or at least, it shouldn't be. People seem to be brought here at random. Lavellan definitely orchestrated the assassination of some kind of royal lady. It stands to reason that some of them would have pasts that were murky to the point of being straight-up criminals.

It's still pretty surprising.

"Holy shit. Does everybody know about this? Shouldn't we do something?"

Rogue's descriptions of this guy just sound crazier and crazier. Kelly Ann kept her distance because he kind of weirded her out but this was more than she expected.

"Are you sure he's not some kind of cult leader or some shit? I mean, you're from... their future, aren't you? Wouldn't you be able to tell if he had changed something big like that?"

Seriously what the fuck.
