Er-- as much attention as possible?
( he's totally down for carrying her, though, that won't be a problem. )
no subject
[She turns and looks back at him. Thank God he's mostly dressed now.]
It's easy. Just like firing a noisemaking dart down a dummy hallway.
no subject
That wasn't covered in the Academy. You get that sort of training in ImpSec, just ask Miles. ( but that's not a no, and ivan curses himself and everyone involved. why does this sort of thing always happen to him? ) Alright. Whenever you're ready.

I'm a lucky man if I found someone as beautiful as you in need of help. ( ok, look. he just can't help himself. ) You good?
no subject
And I'm a lucky woman to have someone as handsome as you find me. [She knows, Ivan. She knows.] Alright, let's do this.
[She goes convincingly slack in his arms.
Now's another good time for cleavage appreciation, too.] Just don't smack my head into any doorframes...no subject
( he is going to take that chance glance at her cleavage, please and thank you, although he doesn't get as distracted by it as before. just a little. )
Hey! ( he says, as soon as he gets them through a door -- he hates this, hates drawing attention to himself, and his grip on elizabeth gets tighter. ) Someone-- hey! A bit of help here?
( the confusion and pleading in his voice is as real as ivan can make it, which is pretty damn impressive. )
no subject
'What happened?'
no subject
( he bets not, and the flurry of activity asking for one might be a good distraction of its own. )
no subject
[Well... nice guess Ivan, you're half right? A couple guards scramble away, presumably to go find a phone. The one who seems to be in charge watches them go.]
'Here, I'll take her to my office in the meantime.' [He reaches out to relieve Ivan of Elizabeth, and she tenses in his arms. She doesn't want some stranger manhandling her, but if Ivan's going to give her up she'll have to get over it very quickly or risk exposing them.]
no subject
I can carry her, she's not that heavy. And anyway ( he continues, grip tightening on her protectively that can easily be read as possessiveness by those watching ) I want be around when she wakes up. Maybe she'll feel generous towards her hero, huh?
( please work, ivan thinks. it's the sort of thing miles would do. maybe. except he'd talk three rings around them and get them on his side before anyone knew what was going on. ivan just can't do that sort of thing. )
no subject
'Sure buddy, if you think she's going to be generous, you keep thinking that. She looks like an ice queen from here.'
[If there are any telepaths around, the sound of outrage Elizabeth is making in her head is impressively loud.]
'Still, we should get her someplace comfortable. Follow me.'
no subject
She's anything but cold. ( he responds smoothly, with a slight jostle of her to punctuate the sly -- well, ivan hopes it's sly -- remark. ) Sure, lead the way.
( they're going to need to draw more attention to themselves, though. maybe if she started wailing? he's not sure how to ask her about that, though. )
no subject
[The guard gives him a world-weary look and turns to lead Ivan to his office.]
'Yeah, she's going to be thrilled to realize she's been rescued by someone enjoying her body heat.'
[This is so embarrassing. The most embarrassing infiltration ever.]
no subject
( back off, buddy.
ivan spends most of this conversation internally running in circles trying to find a way out of this for the both of them as quickly as possible, with as little humiliation as possible.
it doesn't seem to be working. )
no subject
[Eventually the jerky head guard opens the door to his office wide to let Ivan in with Elizabeth.]
'Put her down on the couch, I'll let Kowalski know to send the medic up here.'
no subject
ivan maneuvers them both in, depositing her on the couch but not letting her go completely under the guise of checking her pulse. )
I'll wait here with her, just in case she comes around.
( please go. )
no subject
'Suit yourself-- get me Kramer.' [He says into the phone. Elizabeth opens her eyes and looks right at Ivan. There's some creative and strained looks, completely with eyebrow raising in the direction of the guard. 'Do something Ivan.']
no subject
ivan reluctantly gives her a nod and a squeeze of the hand before he leaves her, ambling over to the desk as if he's interested in whatever the guard is doing. only he gently steps on the power cord for the phone -- neatly and quietly cutting off the phone conversation. he's on the other side of the guard, so that if he looks up at him for an explanation, his back will be to elizabeth. )
What's up?
( he asks, as if he's inquiring about the status of a doctor. )
no subject
'Would you watch where you're stepping?'
[Elizabeth, from her position on the couch, pulls her tranquilizer gun from her waistband and hits him square in the back. The guard yelps in surprise, but then drops the phone as he passes out. Elizabeth leaps to her feet.]
Quick, hang up the phone!
no subject
That's enough excitement for me for the next year.
( he says, knowing that they're not done yet. )
no subject
Here-- [She rolls the chair with the guard towards the wall, away from the desk. Once that's taken care of, she starts going through the desk.]
Look for something on protocols. There must be a way to evacuate this place without drawing suspicion or attention.
no subject
Not a fire. ( he says, pulling the top drawer open and flipping through the back part of it first in the hopes that this man's system of filing resembles his own. ) Although we could probably swing an unannounced test of some sort of emergency evacuation. That way we don't have to scramble to create the scenario in the first place.
no subject
[Elizabeth bites her lip and watches Ivan go to the cabinet with a little intrigued smile. Then she remembers to rifle through the drawers, pulling out what appears to be some kind of employee manual (at least, there are smiling, excited people on the cover, pictured mid-jump in the uniform Ivan is currently sporting. How embarrassing).]
That's it! A drill! Children to fire drills at school, surely a facility like this would have an evacuation plan in place and would occasionally remind everyone how to do it. [She starts flipping through the manual, hopping up to sit on the desk.] Ah-hah! Seismic Activity Evac Procedures! [Elizabeth scans the page.] Perfect, units gather together outside and away from the building, and are given the all-clear by the Security General.
[Elizabeth looks up and back at the man in the chair, fast asleep. His patch says 'Sec. Gen. Kravitz'-- lucky break there.]
Anything over there on how to operate the PA system?
no subject
what he does know, is, where someone stashes the manual. pulling out the bottom drawer and reaching into the back, ivan resurfaces with a stack of official looking guides to equipment. )
Sure is. ( he says, handing it off. ) Everyone in Ops always stores stuff like this in the same place.
