"There will be no prison which can hold our movement down."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar.

Yet, unlike most new crew arrivals, this one is in the middle of chaos.

Despite more recent events, the planet of Emiri is not as peaceful as it once was. Frederick Link is still missing, and the authorities of Emiri have yet to lift the interplanetary ban they have placed on all space crafts docked at the aerospace. The captains previous held a meeting asking crew for any and all information that might help them locate the Komai, a mysterious group determined to undermine Link'd Inc's work providing flourishing matches across the universe by causing random acts of violence and protest across the three main cities: Harashan, Avelle, and St. Murtel. These things have led to mass arrests as well as an unsettling atmosphere spreading across the planet, and since a previous broadcast, things are beginning to escalate.

A downward spiral of these events begins as soon as new arrivals start to leave the Ingress—an unmarked box arrives in the cargo bay addressed to the inhabitants of the Moira. As per his job, Niko Bellic is the one to discover this box and open it. For some, the contents may be particularly gruesome. Link’s body is inside, clothed in a simple white button-down and pants (no shoes), and it looks as if letters have begun to bleed through the material. Anyone with expert knowledge of torture may note that Link was, in fact, tortured for information, and those letters? The writing itself spells out the name St. Murtel.

The captains, having been alerted of this, make an attempt to contact those at Link’d Inc. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done.

☄ First: MISCOMMUNICATION
Somehow, whether intentional or not, the Komai have once again hacked public systems and networks to brand those of the Moira as the ones behind these terroristic acts. They still use their own name, but the images are different, focusing on familiar faces wearing the ship’s uniforms and traveling to the Aerospace to return to the Moira. Not only that, there are short recordings of Link’s final words that mention a very recognizable name: Captain Thán. The Komai have redirected the blame to the Moira and its crew for their own means, and in response, any and all crew who are captured by authorities will immediately be detained and shipped out to unknown locations. The Captains send a message via MID and request everyone return to the ship to prevent this from happening. Yet, not all messages will be delivered depending on how far away they are.

With everyone’s safety hanging in the balance, the Captains have decided to take things into their own hands and find a way to lift the block on the Moira so they can leave Emiri’s orbit and avoid further repercussions regardless of whether or not any one of the crew wants to stay.

☄ Second: DECOY & DISTRACT
After learning that Benjamin Link, son of recently deceased Frederick Link, knows how to unlock the ship so they can leave, the captains ask for volunteers to act as decoys on a mission to the Aerospace in Harashan. Their job is to distract guards and Emiri citizens, leaving the path clear for Benjamin to get to the computers. The captains reiterate that they are to use nonfatal methods as they don’t want a repeat of the events on Caducus Primary. Without his help, the ship won’t be able to leave, making this mission critical and extremely time sensitive.

☄ Third: RESCUE
During the mission, Benjamin informs the crew that the Komai aren’t incorrect in their claims that Link’d Inc uses unforgivable means to obtain information in order to make their matches perfect. The children the crew dreamed about are just two of many—the offspring of Emirian citizens who had gone missing. It has long been suspected that Link’d Inc was involved in their disappearances, but only recently has the Komai done anything to shed light on these gruesome rumors. Benjamin, after successfully unlocking the ship, disables the security systems in St. Murtel, which will allow the children a chance to escape. They’ll need assistance in getting out of St. Murtel and to a pre-designated area in Avelle where a group of Komai and Emirians will be waiting for them.

But be careful. If anyone is recognized as part of the crew, they will be placed under arrest for treason and possibly never heard from again.

☄ Fourth: BREAKING OUT
Now that the computer systems in Harashan’s Aerospace have been used to release the Moira, the entire crew are being called back via MID for an expedient exit from Emiri. Crew will be asked to assist other Moirans in getting back to the ship as quickly as possible via transporters or other small crafts as leaving is their only option at this point. In the escape, Emiri launches an attack on the Moira in an attempt to stop them. The ship’s previously unused defense systems activate, and those assigned to those positions are required to man their posts. Perhaps even those who don’t have the clearance are needed. Either way, it’s time to leave.

☄ Fifth: REFUGEES
Now that the ship has finally escaped Emiri’s orbit, the crew will notice a group of stragglers in the main hall. During the crew’s quick exit, about fifty Emirians have taken refuge aboard the Moira, and the captains have agreed to take them to the closest planet so they may start again or live a life free of Link’d Inc “rule”. The captains ask the crew to help get them clothes and food for their short stay, no longer than a day at most, and to occupy them as best they can. Tell jokes, sing songs, bring up the kittens so that everyone can attempt to wind down after this series of unfortunate events. Light entertainment won’t be provided, but on request, some crew members may do just that.

No! [ He's quick to say it, mostly because he finds it weird to even entertain the idea. Foggy is meant for law, not science, and even then Bruce is heavily lauded, he's sure, and Foggy is just starting up a law firm with his best-friend-and-vigilante.

..It would be cool to kind of chill with Bruce. Or Tony. But he'll keep that to himself and never ever say it out loud because that would destroy what precious little reputation he has. It's time not to be the plucky comic relief, dammit. ]

I've just heard about you. A lot, from where I come from. You and Tony Stark pretty much run anything with the words 'energy' or 'physics.' It's sort of like meeting a celebri--did you know Patsy is here?
hyperkinesia: (It's not you I don't trust.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-11 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ Bruce almost startles at that, eyebrows raising, though mostly he looks amused. And a little self-conscious, admittedly. It's not every day he gets people treating him like he's famous in any way at all. Recognizing him for his work is one thing, but that's usually in very specific circles.

Besides, at his point in time, he and Tony had just recently met - they certainly hadn't been working together long enough to get any sort of reputation, though he's aware by now that that's in his future.

The mention of that name has him frowning briefly, then he nods. ]
Trish. Yes, I've met her. [ He smiles a little. ] To be honest, I didn't even know she was a celebrity.

Sure. [ It's agreeing, a little hum in Foggy's throat, and he assumes that Bruce was probably playing with chess sets or doing other weird nerd stuff when he grew up instead of watching a stupid child-friendly sitcom.

He falls into silence for a few moments--granted, Foggy's version of 'a few moments of silence' is only a few seconds or so--and he offers a smile. Try to appeal to people not as outgoing as you, Foggy, will you? ]

It's kind of crazy, actually. I mean, I understand why you're here, you're responsible for a lot of cool things in New York, just-- [ Trish? Trish even makes more sense than someone like him. ]

--You've been here for a while?
hyperkinesia: (He really grows on you doesn't he?)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-22 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well, considering he was well in his twenties when Trish's sitcom was airing, he was doing more than just playing with chess sets, but yes. Definitely not his kind of show.

For what it's worth, Bruce is pretty used to outgoing people by now. His best friend is Tony Stark after all, so anything else is a step down from that. Not that Bruce minds, obviously. ]

Really? Well, it's good to know there's a reason why I should be here. [ Delivered a little dryly, though he knows what Foggy means. But he'll soon learn that there are all kinds of people on board, some of them making even less sense than Foggy himself. ]

Four months now. [ He answers after a moment's thought. ] It feels longer, sometimes.
foggybear: <user name=easystreet> (I'm gonna turn the "mayoral office")

[personal profile] foggybear 2016-02-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Four months.

[ He's giving himself props that he doesn't raise his voice Home Alone style, though that's very much what he wants to do. He knows people have been here for a while, but never actually heard it quantified before.

It leaves his ears ringing, for some reason, and he presses his lips into a thin line. ]

How do you not go straight-jacket crazy?
hyperkinesia: (So he's building another portal.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-23 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A few have been here longer, actually, even if only for a month or two. Four months really isn't much, in the grander scheme of things, but he does get Foggy's point of view. Some days he feels like he's been here for twice that, while other times it's as if no time has gone by at all.

His eyes lift just so at the question, hands held together, looking much like he's considering the question before he answers. ]

I have a lot of hobbies.

[ No, he's not even trying to sound serious there. ]
foggybear: (pic#9972534)

[personal profile] foggybear 2016-03-01 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[ Foggy's smile lifts into a grin. All it takes is one slightly joking remark and he knows he can slide in, and he already feels more confident than he has before. He's always been confident, of course, but to be as delusional as to think he's on par with someone like Bruce Banner? Absolutely not. This, though, this is nice. ]

Are you telling me you didn't get that killer body from scribbling scientific theories on chalkboards all day?

...Does this place even have chalkboards? Is that a thing here?
hyperkinesia: (We shouldn't be focusing on Loki.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-03-01 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Bruce really is just a normal guy. Well, if one ignores the big green problem, but that's something else entirely. If anything he's never really been a part of the 'cool kids' club, the Avengers is as close as he got to that, actually. Like he's sitting in the popular table now, and he has no idea what to do with himself. ]

Please, stop. You'll make me blush.

[ Delivered flatly as ever, eyebrow raising in a dry kind of amusement. ]

Not chalkboards so much as holographic screens. If anything, you might see a whiteboard or two somewhere.
foggybear: (pic#9972534)

[personal profile] foggybear 2016-03-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ And to Foggy, he'll always be the awkward Star Trek nerd that skips the cafeteria altogether and just has lunch by his locker. He can relate, Bruce. At least you've got super strength and a cool temper. ]

Whatever happened to aesthetic? [ He spreads his arms wide, a sort of 'kids these days' gesture, and presses onwards: ]

How many other people around here are from our New York, do you think?
hyperkinesia: (Why don't we do this the easy way?)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-03-07 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Not sure he'd call it a 'cool' temper, but that's nice. He does like Star Trek a lot, though. ]

Say that in front of Tony and you'll be excluded from his immediate circle. Just saying. [ The man loves his holograms. Besides, it's a whole other kind of aesthetic, one has to learn to embrace change like that. ]

I'm not sure how many on board are from our universe, but that I know of, and from around our point in time, there's me, Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts— there's Wanda Maximoff too, but she's from a little farther ahead than me. A guy called Scott Lang? There's a Sif who might be from the same universe, although she also might be from a parallel reality. [ Of course he has no idea that 'Sif' is actually Loki in disguise. ] Then there's Trish, and... well, you.

I'm good. I don't have a magic hammer or crazy suits of armor or an alarming amount of intelligence-- I wasn't in there to begin with.

[ Yeah, he's okay with being normal, sometimes. Idly, he wonders if Matt would ever approach them. Maybe, maybe not, but he'd be a better fit. As it is Matt's too busy micromanaging a 10 block radius in Manhattan. Some names are familiar and some aren't, but the biggest one that steps out? ]

Wow, Captain America's here? Shield and all? Like, does he physically have the shield? That thing is cool.
hyperkinesia: (The model's locked.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-03-10 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ Bruce smiles briefly, nodding. Honestly, he almost envies people who are... well, normal, as Foggy would put it. Nothing to do with his intelligence, he does like that he's as smart as he is, but he'd have gladly gone without the other part of him.

Then again, if not for his intelligence then he wouldn't have ever gotten that part to begin with. But Bruce isn't one for 'what if's, so he neatly puts those thoughts away in some drawer in the basement of his mind and keeps on going. ]

Shield and all, yes. The whole package. [ Wait, that sounded less weird in his head. ANYWAY. ] I'm sure you'll see him around soon enough.
foggybear: (pic#9972567)

[personal profile] foggybear 2016-03-13 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
[ He whistles, impressed. The actual Captain America here... ]

I guess if they're all here, it explains why they're not helping New York clean up. Unless there's weird multiple dimensions--you're smart, is that even possible? You mentioned it earlier.

[ Wait, hang on. Foggy's mind is going a mile a minute, and he frowns. ]

If we're here, then who's in new york? Do we just disappear?
hyperkinesia: (bruce104)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-03-13 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Think of it more as... pressing pause.

[ He's flipped this over in his head more than enough times that this is what makes most sense to him. ]

From what I can tell so far, we're taken from a point in time, and when we're put back we go to the same point in time. Either that, or despite being from the same universe, we're all from alternate timelines in that same universe. Which means that what happens to me isn't going to affect that'll happen to Steve, or you. But I'm more inclined towards that first theory.

[ He tilts his head a little. ] You're from after New York? The... Chitauri, I mean. [ He hasn't met anyone from that far back yet, or anywhere close in terms of points in time. If that's even what Foggy's talking about. ]
