Suppose it is. People must be busy with other things. I didn't see any reason to wait.
[And so he poured himself a drink.]
Care for a glass?

Kinda prefer it this way, mate. Bar tenders need way too much attention. I'm Force, what's your name? [Its delivered in the same monotone, like he wasn't completely interested but part of him was required to ask.]
no subject
Ocelot.
[It's as much his real name as Force is probably the other man's.]
no subject
Ocelot? Turns out you're my buddy, mate. Now that's bloody convenient i'n't it? [He watches him over the rim of his pint glass, the expression might look amicable enough but what Ade was really doing wasn't too friendly- he was slowly sizing up the stranger.]
no subject
Your buddy? We just met.
[And there's something about the look Ade is giving him that tells Ocelot he's being evaluated. Call it a hunch, or maybe he knows because he does it so often to others.]
no subject
Mate... ain't saying I'm your friend or nothing. You're my buddy. Its some bullshit by Militus Wesell. [Because of course Ade paid attention to ranking titles. He puts the glass down and activates his MID, going into his messages to find one from Zam stating that there was a buddy program and Ade had been paired up with Ocelot. He's going to ignore the fact that the message clearly states Adrian Clark, too.]
I'm your welcoming committee.
no subject
Oh, well in that case, thanks for the welcome.
[He lifts his glass at that to have a drink.]
So, you got a fruit basket or something?
[That was meant to be a joke, but Ocelot wasn't really sure what the welcoming committee had in mind, otherwise.]
no subject
A fruit basket, mate? No. You're lucky you're even getting a conversation... ain't like I came here to find you, just came to find some booze.
[Because it was mostly just coincidence that actually brought him here. Especially considering the fact that he'd received the message and laughed dryly about the very idea of buddies.]
no subject
[There's a mixture of amusement and sarcasm there.]
You're a shitty welcoming committee. Here's to unlawful captivity.
[Ocelot tops off the drink in his glass. He thinks he's going to need more booze.]
no subject
I am mate, yeah. I'm actually the post man- that's my proper job. But I ain't exactly the most friendly of blokes, I can admit it. I'm just here to answer your questions if I need to and get myself drunk at the same time. This whole thing is more for me than you anyway.
no subject
[That would actually be kind of weird. How was anyone from their own world or time supposed to contact them, anyway?]
Thanks, but I'm not really sure what to ask. Still kinda soaking it in.
no subject
[He makes a scoffing noise.] Usually it just fucks things up but yeah.
no subject
And who the hell would mail us stuff out here? Does anyone even know I'm here?
no subject
I've had some bloody weird crap delivered to me, too... some of it weren't even mine. [Like the christ-forsaken purring blanket.]
no subject
[But he thinks he'll have to get used to weird around here. Well, Adrian is at least a little helpful with some information, even if he's not exactly good at his welcoming job.]

[And he really will, too. Good thing this ship has a fully stocked bar. Ocelot thinks he'll be spending a lot of time here.]
no subject
Mate gotta be the one to tell you... you're probably gonna find a lot of reasons to drink out here.
