You...you think I would hurt you? [She'd rather rip out her own heart.] I couldn't. Never you.

Look try whatever you need to. But if it's some trick...
[He trails off, sure she understands what he's getting at. Even trying to placate, he's wary.]

[If Peter can't believe her after this, there's nothing more she can do.
Wanda raises her hand again, higher this time, releases a stream of the red light. The Moira wavers, shifts: this is Sokovia now. There are flashes of little Pietro and Wanda before everything goes wrong. They were truly happy once, after all. But then it all goes wrong when the shell crashes into their dinner table. Pietro, fast even without his powers, saves Wanda and they huddle under the bed, terrified of the unexploded shell three feet from their faces.
The images shift through their lives faster now, only slowing down around the experiments. Wanda's unsure and Pietro has to talk her into it. They grow into their powers together, learn how to work around and with each other, eventually challenge the Avengers.
But everything goes wrong again - Wanda lets him see most of it, only cutting it off after she tells Pietro to go. The vision fades and she steps back, waiting, watching.]
Do you understand now?
((ooc: assume he can know anything from the movie up to the point when Pietro leaves Wanda with the key))

He takes a deep, shaking breath as it fades; he tries to keep his knees from buckling. There's an urge in the pit of his stomach, to reach out and hug the woman in front of him, the way he did when the little one woke up with a bad dream, the way he did when they had been kids and his Wanda had questions about a father that their mother couldn't answer. The urge to comfort; that big brother instinct. Peter holds it in, lets the expression on his face do the talking on that front.
Another shaking breath. Peter rubs at his temple, across his eyes briefly.]
Not a trick. [He gives her a tight smile, tests her name. His voice is small, emotional from the onslaught.] I understand, some. Still have some questions. If you, you know.
[Strangely, he feels even more out of his element now than he did before. Does he apologize? For being an ass, for not being that brother? He rubs the back of his neck, shifting awkwardly.]

Small steps, then: she holds out both her hands for his.]
Of course. Anything you need.

So. How does this work? Alternate dimensions or something?
no subject
I think so. There are many different 'Earths' and other worlds. [Tiny smile.] At least we don't have two of the same person yet.
no subject
Right. Okay. Is it bad if I say out loud this is weird, because it kind of is? I mean, usually my twin is my age and doesn't have powers and stays in her room all day complaining about our sister touching her stuff. Shit. You don't have our little sister, do you? Wait, should I explain stuff about you from my place? I'm not sure what the rules are on this.
no subject
[She squeezes his hand again, attempting to be a grounding influence.] I think you can explain it...if you can't, the rest of us are in trouble. We already have.

If you want to talk I want to listen. I know this is hard.

Wanda back home doesn't have powers. Our sister doesn't either. Just me. I was born with it. Mutant. In the dna, courtesy of the disappearing dad. Probably. Or maybe it's just a freak accident. Universe just wanted me to be cool and powerful.
no subject
Or at least, Wanda would flatten anyone who tried to hurt her or a certain someone else.]
...would this be a bad time to tell you that you also have a future nephew here?
no subject
It's hard to imagine not having one. Even before she came along I had, well, you. The other you. You'd love her. [And he didn't need her memories to feel sure of that. His tone is burst with pride, but a little wistful.] Back home, that you and her argue a lot. You days she takes your stuff and she says you won't play dolls with her anymore, but you're family.
[A pause. He frowns, shrugs.]
Your's or another alternate universe?
no subject
[She follows along, probes the surface of those memories. Her expression goes soft - yes, she would like them. Very much. Might need to put her makeup on a higher shelf, though.]
Family is family. I would love to meet them if there is a safe way. Maybe if they ever fix the Ingress.
I think Billy is from another version of our world. We are the same age here, so it's easier to act like I have another brother.
[Two younger brothers, both somewhere on the reckless side. They're going to be the death of her.]
no subject
Bring them here or go back to mine? 'Cause people with powers don't always get the warmest welcome back home. [He may have only met people like himself recently, he may ignore all the rumors that flew around about the freaks and the fear. Peter never let it show if the outrage bothered him. But it was different if that anger could be focused at family.]
Never had a brother. It's always just been a bunch of girls in the house. Might be nice.
no subject
[She smiles, though her expression turns sympathetic. Wanda didn't look as deeply in his head as she showed him, so there are a lot of important details about his world she completely missed.]
People are afraid of things they don't understand. But no one is going to hurt you here, I promise.
no subject
I'm not worried about that. Too fast to be caught, right? I've always been just fine. Just saying, if you went there. I use my powers and the human eye can't even keep up. People brush it off like they're going crazy. But with your power, out in the open. Don't want you getting- I wouldn't want something to happen.
[It doesn't matter what memories she's shown him, that he knows she more than capable of taking care of herself. It's built in his DNA to worry about his sisters.]
