[Another Charles Xavier who hadn't failed early on, unparalyzed by fear in involving others in some "damned fool idealistic crusade." Within the house, it's a hushed term, rarely used unless it's to leverage something Hank wanted...usually. Few who walked in ever knew about it, students included, and it hadn't ever come to pass.

Except, apparently, it has. A failure on top of a long history of falling short. Charles isn't even sure where to start in regards to that. So...he doesn't. Not yet, anyway. She is, after all, the one stipulating a new start.]

A fresh start sounds terrific. [Really.] And what powers would those be?

[While there wouldn't be much reason for her to be awkward around a younger Charles since she was on good terms with him in her world, it seems as though new world, new start was a good enough suggestion to her. She had a semi-awkward first encounter with Erik here, in that she wasn't sure at first what his motives or viewpoints were, so she'd rather avoid accidentally walking into something like that again as a general rule.

As for his question, it won't be an unfamiliar power to Charles, but she doesn't preface it with that. She'll be the one to not start that line.] Ah, I'm basically a giant magnet; I can control magnetism, metal. [The other giant magnet -- because why have one when you can have two right??] It's pretty cool. Dramatic, but. [Dramatic is literally in her genes, Charles.]

In my experience, "dramatic" is rather a tame way of putting it. [There's a laugh there, the kind that used to surface all those years ago when this was still new. He hasn't seen quite enough in his experience to theorize on how mutations pass generationally, or if they even do (let alone how literal the translation of their manifestation might be if so), but it is enough to keep his interest very piqued.]

That's very interesting. In my experience, it's rare to see our mutations overlap with one another much. At a very basic, primary level, perhaps, yes, but--

No, I can't say I've met many who can do the same. Telepathy and telekinesis are pretty popular mutant abilities where I'm from, and people who have one usually have the other. [A few exceptions, sure.
