Who: Doc Yewll | OTA
When: After this log where Jasper attacked her.
Where: Med Bay
What: Being stuck in bed
Warnings: Aftermath of Violence, probably Doc being rude, possibly sci-fi war stuff.
[She still aches from head to toe, and while she has no intention to leave Med Bay while she's recovering, Doc Yewll hates having only the pain and being pissed off to think about while she's recovering. So she's in bed either reading, or working on some small invention, or dismantling flowers for particular parts to go into a centrifuge.]
[Whatever she has on hand? She's doing it. Because she doesn't want to think about it because she'll just get mad all over again. As it is she's mess of bandages and foul expression.]
[Every minor crash is making her flinch; too much glass lately. She's going to have to concentrate on partitioning that once she's focusing less on just healing. But for someone stabbed through the shoulder and shaken like a twenty scrip cocktail she's not doing so bad. Thank god for protoform healing up pretty good.]
[Distractions though, those would be lovely.]

[The voice comes from the door to the med bay, a tall, black-haired woman stands there with a small stack of books under her arm. She hadn't heard of the good doctor's fight against Jasper or anything like that - she'd just stopped by the medical wing to see one of her favorite adults on the ship.
Her expression is serious and concerned, as she steps toward the scaled woman on the hospital bed.]
What happened?
no subject
[She knew the ship had been causing some age issues. Nothing she could make sense of, because when the hell do people usually change times with their selves, but hell, what is it to her.]
Robin?
[She squints, looking at her tiredly as she puts down the flower she was stripping of its petals.]
no subject
[She can't help but admit, she's a little relieved that the doctor can recognize her. With so many people having gotten younger, she'd been worried that some of the important people to her wouldn't be able to tell who she was.]
It's been a long time, Doctor. From my perspective, at least.
[Enough with the pleasantries, though. She walks up to the bed, and sets her books down on a small table next to it.]
Are you okay now?
no subject
You recognize me. With the way things have been going, I didn't expect you to.
[She gestures for her to come over.] I feel like hell but I'll be okay. Lucky me, I heal fast. Woo.
[All stated in her usual bland, dry tone.] You look good. [And she looks down towards Robin's feet.]
no subject
As if I could ever forget you, Meh.
[She steps closer when the doctor beckons her. Look, Doc, she's all grown up now - aren't you proud?]
Well, I'm glad you're going to get better, at least. I was hoping you could take a look at something for me, but it can wait.
[Meh isn't the only one who lost a fight recently, as it turns out. She's also not the only fast healer.
As for her feet... There are most certainly two of them. Two left ones, of course - it seems that isn't something that's magically gotten better with age.]
I'm glad you think so, though.
no subject
Let me see, otherwise I'm just sitting here listening to the breeze flow between my ears. I hate it.
[She gestures towards the books.] You manage to keep doing your mom's work?
no subject
I... don't know what kind of influence you were on me. But you gave me support in a time when I really needed it. Regardless of the kind of path I ended up going down... you should know that you did right by me.
[And that's something that she'll never forget.]
As for my mother's work... yes, I've been continuing it. I even found someone to help fund my latest expedition.
[She pulls the hem of her shirt up a little bit, revealing a plain, bare stomach. Or, at least, that's how it appears at first - in an instant, though, the immaculate top layer of skin she's grown fades away to nothing, revealing a nasty-looking puncture wound in her gut. The wound that Crocodile gave her, after her betrayal.
It's partially healed over, not actively bleeding or anything like that, but it's still unpleasant and extremely painful to look at.]
He... Didn't care for my findings.
no subject
See, you gave me the, 'Actually I got into a lot of trouble' answer which says that I should have spent some more time teaching you healthy caution. But there's no cure for assholes outside of termination, so not much you can do about that.
[She gestures across from her at some counterspace, where there's a few devices.] Bring me the round one and come over here. I'll heal you up so you don't have to keep hiding it.
And it'll give me some busy-work. I hate being stuck in bed.
no subject
If I didn't understand healthy caution, I wouldn't have lasted as long as I have. But it's been twenty years, and and a girl in my situation... anyone willing to associate with you is a calculated risk.
[She isn't the same scared kid that Doc Yewll came to care for. She knew that this guy was going to try and stab her in the back, and she intended to do the same to him. He just ended up being a bit faster than her, is all.
Regardless, she makes her way over to the counter and picks up the device that Meh had been talking about, and brings it back. Annoyed though she might be, Robin knows better than to go against a doctor in her own med bay.]
Here.
no subject
Looks like he got you good.
You manage to make any headway in your research? I remember you come from a hell of a world.
[It doesn't take long to seal the surface up. Like with Doc Yewll, whatever is deeper will have to sort itself out on its own. But at least this is slightly less work on her part.]
no subject
He did. He caught me with his hook, before I could stab him through the heart.
[Had she just been a second faster, she would have killed him and gotten away unscathed. She's sure of it.]
And... sort of. I've discovered a few poneglyphs in my life, but none of them had the information I've been looking for.
[ Which isn't to say they didn't carry any knowledge at all, of course. Robin knows a great deal more than she did as a child, including some very dangerous information. But the truth behind the Void Century still eludes her. ]
It's been... disheartening. I had pinned my hopes on this last one, and made a countless sacrifices to get to it. But in the end, it didn't carry the knowledge that I needed.
no subject
[She's had a basic idea, but not the full story from the younger version of this woman. Maybe she can better explain now. She's obviously been through a lot since then, having to make deals with assholes that like to hook people apparently.]
[That's Meh's usual sort of "employer" too. It's a shame when a mob boss is the nicest guy to her.]
no subject
[ She thinks she did, but... it's been twenty years. A lot of details are blurry. ]
I want to learn all about what happened during that time, but I have a few questions that I need answered in specific. What happened, that could make the government try to erase an entire century from history? I have reasons to believe that it has to do with the origins of the world government, but I don't yet know how. Questions like that.
[ What could be so important as to justify the destruction of her entire island?]
When i was a child, the Scholars of my island had been studying the poneglyphs and trying to learn what they could about the country that created them. I watched my professor - a man named Clover - get shot in the chest when he tried to utter that country's name. I'd like to learn that as well.
[ Although, admittedly, that's at least as much of a 'fuck you' to the government as it is a genuine academic pursuit. ]
no subject
He didn't appear to look up or over towards her but he remarked casually. ]
Whatever that is, please tell me it's not designed to explode.
no subject
[She clamps two parts in place.]
I need you and McCoy to do something for me, since I'm a little laid up at the moment.
no subject
He's ready to continue on his way when she speaks again, which has him pausing and glancing back towards her. ]
I can't make any promises. Depends upon what the something is?
no subject
Tali and the first Jane Shepard we have listed [the clone] are experiencing blackouts that make them wander in front of Ploiatos's cell. Their scars also move on occasion.
I wanted to request a thorough neural scan but looks like I'm a little held up.
It's important enough that McCoy needs to know. I keep missing him and I don't want to talk about it over the MID yet.
no subject
He could recall talking to one of the other Shephards and her mentioning that her alt had tangled with the creatures. He's caught some people in that sort of haze as well, though doesn't realize the connection to any scars.
Changing a setting on his data pad, Adrien lowered it and walked over to Yewll's bedside, eyebrows tucked together. ]
Will they submit to a thorough neural scan?
no subject
[Because she's willing to keep secrets and not judge. Well... not judge in any meaningful way.]
I had been setting up some guidelines, things to check since they're very different species, but as you can guess I got held up a little bit.
[She gives him a thumbs up. Yep. That was a hell of a party.]
no subject
He's had to deal with co-workers who were just as impossible about their injuries in the past. Let's face it, the entire medical staff was probably made up of the worst patients on the ship. ]
Alright. I will see if I can get in contact with McCoy about this. Do you have the guidelines on a data pad I can pull from or are they on the back of a napkin?
[ Adrien's gotten used to the idea of Yewll's secrets. He can do the leg work, try to reach out to the two patients already identified but rolling Yewll's bed over to the scanning device might be a bit of a stretch. ]
no subject
My insides still feel like shredded meat.
[Karma, probably. That part she won't say.]
no subject
[ Adrien asked and he wasn't entirely sarcastic. Hey, it would make the med charts a hell of a lot more interesting to read. ]
Let me see if I can locate McCoy, he has been difficult to reach.
no subject
[She folds her hands over her stomach, taking a break from the device she's been messing around with.]
You want to know something funny? This is the first time I've had visitors while I was hurt in years. [She's still completely baffled some people stopped in to see her.]
no subject
I’m going to take that as an improvement, since the stir fry would at least be a little more put together.
[ Seriously, this was going to end up being a diagnostic scale. As for her latter comment, he gives a small snort and then shoots her a wry look. ]
I’ve been lead to believe that this occurs when you have something called ‘friends’.
no subject
[Just because she managed to make friends doesn't mean she'll ever stop sassing. But at least there's no earnest dislike in her tone. Probably. Well... it's hard to tell.]
Let me know if you can reach him.
Especially since he went after the Navigator, too.
no subject
McCoy went after the Navigator? [ Wait, what? No. That didn't sound right. Try again. ]
Wait. You mean Ploiatos?
no subject
You know what, I don't know how McCoy parties. It might be his idea of a good time.
[She's still on painkillers, doing her best.]
But thanks ahead of time.
no subject
the only reason he comes over the meh's bed is because he sees her awake but not before making a detour by the "kitchen" area.
he holds out a fresh glass of water for her.]
Hey doc, you feelin' alright?
no subject
Here to play me a song Mr. Piano man? That's how the joke goes, right?
no subject
[he's spent an unexpected amount of time around the medibay recently, after all.]
