[His interest is peaked. But he files it away for later -and he will find time to ask later- because there's a bigger explanation to get to.

Peter looks a little ashamed. The great thing about the constant arrival of new people is that it meant there were so many who didn't know about some of the stupider things he's done since he was brought her. He doesn't want to taint anyone's good impression of him with what he's done.

But he won't lie about this.]

Yes. Me, Alan and someone who's not here anymore. It was more than one attempt, actually. [He hesitates and then barrels forward, looking anywhere but at her.] I tried to kill him. And then all of us, we tried to reprogram him.

[ There's not so much as a flicker on Medusa's face, or even a stir in the depths of her hair. She's ordered millions to their death. She's ripped out the heart of her husband's kidnappers, skewered people on her hair, and never lost a night's sleep. There is no judgment here. ]

Those are solutions. [ One long strands of hair uncurls over her shoulder and laces across his own, a brief reassuring touch to draw his attention back to her. ] I can see that it did not work, but you attempted to address the problem. Who was the other party involved? And if you cannot kill him, and cannot reprogram him, can he be reasoned with?

[The touch, as strange as it is, does it's job. He looks back up to her, searching her face for any hint she's disgusted with him, that she's as angry as everyone else had been when his plans had first come to light. He finds nothing judgmental and it relaxes him.]

It was Alice. [Because she's no longer here for anyone to harm over what happened and because he thinks Medusa won't think ill of her for it.] We've tried that, I guess. Pretty sure the reprogramming attempt kind of freaked him out. We talked after that, sort of, recently actually. [They fought, actually, but Peter's not so much as told Wanda about that yet.] He keeps saying I was wrong and everyone seems to think everything will be okay if I just stay away.

[Peter doesn't sound like he believes that.]

Alice.

[ The hair around them jerks inwards slightly, a sudden jolt of thought. ]

I remember Alice.

[ And then it moves into ripples once more, as Medusa pushes the sudden negative emotion down. The disappointment that the one person she'd remotely liked had disappeared by the time she came back. ]

It is unsurprising that he believes you are wrong. To his perspective, he is a person. You attempted to fundamentally alter his being. [ Again, no judgment. Medusa is comfortable with moral ambiguity. Or outright immorality, when necessary. ] Still, a wrong does not excuse another wrong. What you did does not erase what he has done. And now you think...he is following you again?

[He eyes the movement of red.]

Hopefully well. She was great.

[And one of the people he missed the most around the Moira. He doesn't know whether he's glad she missed the fallout of their misadventures or still wishes she'd been there to deal with them with him.]

He came back after me, a while after it. Enough time that I guess he'd been planning it. He acts like it's over now, after he got the last word in. [After he'd gotten the last hit in, more like it.] But I don't know how much I trust that. Look, I don't want another fight with him. I don't want to be sitting in the cells again over him. But I don't want to be stupid and think that it's not a possibility either.
