Continued from Kaidan's intro thread.

[She nods, dropping her gaze to her food.]

You died. Ashley lived - they recently made her the second human Spectre.

So it's... weird, seeing you.

[It's totally not that she's never seen him before.]

[That got a look of surprise from Kaidan. How many more parallels were there?] Not in my world... they offered that to, well, me. Next you'll tell me that you and she fell out at Horizon.

[She blinks. Where the hell's Horizon and what happened between Shepard and Williams there?]

That's right. [GOOD GUESSES ALL ROUND, TEAM.] What, that happened to you too?

[So it was total parallels. Fascinating.]

Collector attack? Argument? Me refusing to believe you were alive, and walking away from you. You know, usual day at the office.

Weird.

[It's murmured, though truthfully more at either of them doing that to Shepard than because it was (maybe?? hopefully, because if Williams shows up and it wasn't, she's in trouble) the same for both Williams and Kaidan whatshisname. Guess that's what Shepard gets for trusting them.]

It gets weirder: There's a few of us Shepards around. Though at least one's in cryo at the moment so you don't get all of us on day one.

[With a totally straight face.]

[What? Just... what?]

I beg your pardon? More than one Shepard? [How can that happen? Doesn't that mean that the universe would explode, or something? Actually if there were more than one Shepard about, that's a very real possibility. No one causes chaos and destruction like Shepard.]

Shepards from diferent universes. Like how where you're from, I saved you, but I remember saving Ashley. I'm a Sentinel from Mindoir, the one in cryo's a Vanguard Spacer, the new one's an Infiltrator but also from Mindoir.

And brunette. [For some reason, this is what gets to her. An Infiltrator from Mindoir who still looked like her and the Vanguard, she could have handled.]

[That got a frown from Kaidan. Really it did seem like a recipe for disaster. Though it made him feel better that in some universe, Ash was saved. He hoped she made a good life for herself.]

They're all brunette? [That amused him for some reason, especially her reaction.]

[At least someone's getting some amusement out of this. She shakes her head.]

No, just the Infiltrator. She's the biggest physical variation - the Vanguard looks like me.

[He was amused without a doubt. The situation was ridiculous if you looked at it.]

That must get confusing. [He'd probably get confused by it all as well.]

[She shrugs.] People seem to be able to tell us apart once they've talked to us. And we don't have a lot of overlap on friends from this place, anyway.

[Now, wasn't that interesting? Something to file away and think about later.]

I suppose experiences must be different, as well. [After all, who can have exactly the same experiences? That's hard to imagine, but it was amazing what you started to accept here.]

The Spacer's had more than me. [Which... isn't a lie.] She's from further on in the war.

[She lifts her fork.] She'd be able to say more, but I'd actually really like to eat this.

[Biotic appetite, amirite?]

[He could take a hint when it was thrown in his face.]

Eat, Shep, before you waste away. [Oh, he understood biotic appetites only too well.]

[She gives him a small but genuine smile.]

Thanks.

[And with that, she tucks in, grateful to not have to answer any more Shepardly questions for a while.]
