"It's a pleasure to be reacquainted." She returned the handshake without hesitation, sizing him up a bit more as she did so. While Peggy files it in her mind that he's so keen to act as if the time barrier is not between them, she doubts she'll call him anything but 'Mr. Pierce.' It wouldn't be with the intention of being rude, but merely her feeling like their relationship was too informal for her to be calling him by his first name, no matter what his side of things were. She had no true knowledge of him or his actions over the years. For all she knew, half of what he told her could be lies. Not that she had any reason to think that, it was just something she always considered when speaking to those so far ahead of her in time.
He definitely knew her, she had no doubt about that. While she may not know how her future played out, everything he shared sounded very much like her.
"I suppose even I can't endeavor forever." She liked to think one day, when she was sure SHIELD would function without her, she would step down, but it would be a damn hard choice. And she doubted she would really leave completely. The field would always call to her. The only way she would ever truly stop was if she physically couldn't anymore.
"I'm curious-- what year do you hail from?" Many she had met from their world were from the 21st century. She merely wonders if that pattern is continuing with him, as well.
"As always," he replied, taking her measure as well based on the handshake, but it was exactly as he remembered it to be. As far as he could tell, the Moira did not suffer under the same sexist patriarchs that so much of his own world suffered from, though it was hard to get a grasp on what the Captain's were actually doing. It was mostly the crew working together on their assigned duties it seemed.
"Your legacy still stands in your wake, and you always tried to keep a hand in where you could," he replied, though of course he knew that her mind had began to go. It seemed inappropriate to discuss such matters, but perhaps in future if they could continue to speak and work cordially together. He would very much enjoy that.
"The year of my death was 2014," he replied, making it clear that he had come here post-humorous. It was very strange to consider that he had died and then ended up here to work; there was never any retirement on the horizon.
