"I'm not as good as my friend Brucie but ah... if you want some help fixing up the car, making her better for when you go home, I think I could lend a hand." He'd ask Tali, but she might laugh at him for having her tend to something so lo tech. Nah, this he could handle himself.

"If you're in a place where you have room to make improvements? Might as well while you have the chance."

"Yeah!" His face brightens up instantly. "That would be awesome. We're always tryin' to patch her on the fly. She could do with some love from someone who knows what they're doin'."

He really doesn't know if he'll ever get home or what things will be like when he gets there, but this car is all he has left of his brother for now and it's a good way to honor that until he can punch and hug the real thing.

"Be a good idea if you can take it back better than it came... Sometimes these places let you do that, you know? Send you back home with your stuff and your memories."

Not often, but he knows for certain it does happen.

"How long have you had it?"

"Don't even remember." He shakes his head, like he can't quite remember a time without it. "Hard to keep track of stuff without all the tech we got up here on the ship."

If he's honest, he's only semi-aware of his age. It's more a guestimate than a confident truth.

He grins and looks up. "Maybe I should pack you and take you back when I go."

It wasn't as if Niko remembered his own birthday. He recalled his age only in that he was a year younger than his cousin.

"You'd have to talk my girlfriend into going too. I couldn't leave her behind. But to be honest, I don't even fucking know what we're going to do." He grunted as he shifted down in the seat. "Neither one of us mind the idea of roaming."

"She got skills like yours? You'd be a hot commodity." A lot of them can figure things out, but really knowing how to fix a car is something else entirely. It can mean the difference between guesswork and stretching parts that are already almost impossible to replace.
