( open ) let's dance
Who: the teen population of the Moira
When: at some point after arriving at the Luminous Sea, late afternoon/evening
Where: recreation area
What: a very 80's party thrown by Peter
takeitslow! Is your character currently a teenager? If yes, then assume they have somehow magically gotten an invitation and come party with us!
Warnings: none for the moment, will change if necessary

So maybe there's a lot of young people suddenly around the Moira. The best way to deal with it is obviously by throwing a party. Because adults are boring people who can't have fun and how can you not go wild at a party with a disco ball?
The rec area has been decorated just a bit for the occasion: there's a few tables with quick snacks, sweets and drinks, and 80's music playing from some strategically placed speakers. A good portion of the area is unimpeded so people can dance, and there are balloons of different colors a little bit all over.
The pool's decorated with tiny glitter confetti too, so it gives off a very glow-y vibe. Probably not a good idea to jump in but hey, you do you.
People are free to start up their own activities during the party, be it games like Spin the Bottle or Never Have I Ever, or something like attempting synchronized dancing. Seriously, go wild! (Not too wild, though. Just because there are no parents around doesn't mean you all should do whatever the hell you want.Yes it does.)
(Everyone feel free to put up specific starters for your characters, or for 'group' activities, go ahead and put up a top level so that everyone who wants to can jump in!)

[ He presses his lips a little, getting a plate so he can serve himself a few snacks. In amounts a lot more moderated than Trish. ]
For the record, you can just keep using the room. I've found somewhere else to sleep in.
no subject
[ She feels a little bad but mostly she's relieved, having her own room seems pretty awesome when having to deal with all this new stuff.
Okay, she'll probably ask Jess to come share it with her but anyway. ]
no subject
[ This is a nice room and all, but it's huge, and Bruce doesn't mind staying elsewhere. For now the department's pretty perfect, though— if only he could get a bed in there, he actually wouldn't mind turning the small office into an actual room for him. ]
no subject
Thanks, that's really sweet of you. Where are you going to sleep?
[ Is that weird to ask? ]
no subject
[ Although the couch is pretty comfortable, and it's not like Bruce requires anything fancy. In fact, the simpler the better. ]
no subject
[ Look, awkward as it all was Bruce is the first person she got to know on this ship (apart from Jess) and they explored this weird-ass place together.
He's the closest thing she has to a friend here. Not that she is entirely sure how to actually have friends but maybe this could be a chance to learn. ]
no subject
[ Just give him a moment to piece together what she's asking, and why she's asking. Eventually it all clicks in his head, and he looks up, as embarrassed as he is surprised. Jesus, that was a damn dismissive way to answer that question. ]
I mean— yes. Yes, I would, uh... I'd really like that. If you come visit me.
no subject
I don't have to or anything.
no subject
[ Oh great Bruce, no wonder you're such a complete failure with girls. He sighs, frustrated at himself. ]
I'm sorry. I didn't really get that you were asking to visit me specifically. I wasn't blowing you off or anything. I just... it flew right over my head. I'm clueless. Sorry.
no subject
Exactly what part of maybe I could visit you there was it that you didn't get?
[ Sorry Bruce, it's not you, it's her non-existent self-esteem. ]
no subject
He doesn't really know how to handle this. ]
I d-don't know. I'm, uh, I'm sorry. I just didn't r-really underst-understand, I'm, uh. I'm s-sorry. Sorry.
[ Apparently slipping back into his stutter is the way he handles this. Which is to say he handles it very poorly. ]
Girls never, uh. Never just w-want to be with me.
no subject
[ Well now she's feeling like a jerk.
Wow this is a disaster, he seems terrified. ]
Hey, it's... it's okay. I kind of get it. People don't really want to be with me either.
no subject
In the end he just dares a glance up at her, though fleeting, his eyes gluing themselves to the floor the next moment. ]
I h-have a hard time believing that.
no subject
[ She shrugs. She knows he's probably talking about bullying, but she can still relate at least a little bit. ]
People are a lot more interested in the character I play than me.
[ Mostly because her mother has made damn sure that people pretty much think they are one and the same. ]
no subject
You're not wearing the wig now, right?
[ He's pretty sure he'd be able to tell. ]
I don't know Patsy, but I like Trish. I like that you're... you. [ Eventually he loosens his arms, letting them fall to his sides, one of them playing with the cloth of a table nearby. ] I'd much rather spend time with you.
no subject
No. Patsy's a redhead. And has bangs.
[ She reaches out to poke one of his shoulders with a finger. ]
And you're not so bad either.
no subject
[ When she smiles, he smiles too, feeling a little more relieved now that she doesn't seem to be angry at him anymore. ]
Thanks. My bangs kind of work in my favor, don't they? [ And by 'bangs' he means the curls falling down his forehead and nearly poking into his eyes, if not for the glasses he's wearing. Jesus Christ, he really is a dorkasaurus. ]
no subject
[ She reaches out to carefully brush some of those curls aside a little though. ]
You shouldn't let them hide your eyes though. You have nice eyes.
no subject
Thank you. [ Words, okay. He can do those. Probably. ] You too.
no subject
Sorry, shouldn't have started messing with your hair without asking first.
[ Gosh he's blushing really hard. Poor guy. Note to self, don't touch Bruce? ]
no subject
[ But he likes it when she touches him. She just looks like a complete idiot turned to a flustering puddle whenever she does. ]
no subject
[ Seriously what was she even thinking? Apart from Bruce has nice eyes, that is. ]
no subject
[ It'll definitely be weird, but Bruce won't mind it at all. ]
no subject
Okay, deal.
[ She clears her throat a little and looks around at the other party guests, trying to think of something more to say to get away from the slightly odd moment. ]
So. You having fun tonight?
no subject
Having her actually stick around rather than just move along is kind of a novelty, though. ]
It's nice. Just... a little crowded. I'm not used to parties like this. But I am having fun. [ He tips his head at her. ] And you?
