Who: the teen population of the Moira
When: at some point after arriving at the Luminous Sea, late afternoon/evening
Where: recreation area
What: a very 80's party thrown by Peter takeitslow! Is your character currently a teenager? If yes, then assume they have somehow magically gotten an invitation and come party with us!
Warnings: none for the moment, will change if necessary




So maybe there's a lot of young people suddenly around the Moira. The best way to deal with it is obviously by throwing a party. Because adults are boring people who can't have fun and how can you not go wild at a party with a disco ball?

The rec area has been decorated just a bit for the occasion: there's a few tables with quick snacks, sweets and drinks, and 80's music playing from some strategically placed speakers. A good portion of the area is unimpeded so people can dance, and there are balloons of different colors a little bit all over.

The pool's decorated with tiny glitter confetti too, so it gives off a very glow-y vibe. Probably not a good idea to jump in but hey, you do you.

People are free to start up their own activities during the party, be it games like Spin the Bottle or Never Have I Ever, or something like attempting synchronized dancing. Seriously, go wild! (Not too wild, though. Just because there are no parents around doesn't mean you all should do whatever the hell you want. Yes it does.)


(Everyone feel free to put up specific starters for your characters, or for 'group' activities, go ahead and put up a top level so that everyone who wants to can jump in!)

[ She reaches out to carefully brush some of those curls aside a little though. ]

You shouldn't let them hide your eyes though. You have nice eyes.

[ There's probably some sort of alarm going off in his head, because girl, touching him. He probably turns five different shades of red just then, lips pressed as his (nice) eyes drop to the ground. ]

Thank you. [ Words, okay. He can do those. Probably. ] You too.

[ She laughs a little, but looks apologetic as she drops her hand. ]

Sorry, shouldn't have started messing with your hair without asking first.

[ Gosh he's blushing really hard. Poor guy. Note to self, don't touch Bruce? ]

[dyskinesia]

No, it's okay. It was nice, I was just... a little surprised.

[ But he likes it when she touches him. She just looks like a complete idiot turned to a flustering puddle whenever she does. ]

[stillpatsy]

Well yeah it's kind of weird to just randomly start fussing with people's hair.

[ Seriously what was she even thinking? Apart from Bruce has nice eyes, that is. ]

[dyskinesia]

It's fine. Next time you can ask first, and it won't be weird.

[ It'll definitely be weird, but Bruce won't mind it at all. ]

[stillpatsy]

[ Undoubtedly it will be very weird but hey, it seems to work for them. ]

Okay, deal.

[ She clears her throat a little and looks around at the other party guests, trying to think of something more to say to get away from the slightly odd moment. ]

So. You having fun tonight?

[dyskinesia]

[ Things almost always tend to get a little awkward with Bruce, but usually that's because he's the awkward one.

Having her actually stick around rather than just move along is kind of a novelty, though. ]

It's nice. Just... a little crowded. I'm not used to parties like this. But I am having fun. [ He tips his head at her. ] And you?

[stillpatsy]

You seem to be pretty popular.

[ Referring to the kissing and such. ]

Yeah, I'm having fun. No one but Jess seems to know who I am here, it's pretty awesome.

[dyskinesia]

Who, me? No, not even a little. This is all... kind of new. And a little weird.

[ He just got roped into that game, alright? Either way, there's something funky about the future because apparently nerds are popular and considered cute? That's not how he remembers pretty much his whole life. ]

I know who you are. Now, anyway. [ He's joking, obviously. ] But I know what you mean. I'm glad for you, too.

[stillpatsy]

You're at a party in space so yeah. A little weird.

[ She can't help herself, he's just so damn teasable. At least she does it with affection? ]

[dyskinesia]

Yeah, well. Me being popular is even weirder than that. Somehow.

[ He knits his eyebrows briefly, then chuckles. Not a complete lie, either. ]

[stillpatsy]

It's really sad that I get what you mean. You're a sweet, good-looking guy but like... to be popular you have to play this twisted social game a lot of the time.

[ And she can't imagine Bruce navigating any of that very well. ]

[dyskinesia]

Yeah. [ He smiles a little, trying very much to not focus on the fact she just said he's good-looking. What. ] Social games aren't the kind of games I'm good at, so.

[ He shrugs. He's had some pretty rough moments in his life but he genuinely believes that to be behind him now. ]

[stillpatsy]

[ What? He totally is! Sure he's mega awkward and a complete dork, but he's still handsome. ]

I'm kind of not even in the same ball park.

[ Fame kind of changes the rules a lot. ]

[dyskinesia]

[ Yeah well she's probably the first pretty girl to say that. Well, to think that, anyway. ]

I figured as much.

[ He offers her a small smile, shrugging. ]

It doesn't matter anyway, does it? At least not here. [ It wouldn't matter back home either, not to him anyway. But he suspects it might've to her. ] We can still get along. Maybe, uh... maybe we can be friends. I-if you want to.

[stillpatsy]

I thought we were already.

[ Not super close or anything but yeah, definitely in the friendship area. ]

[dyskinesia]

Oh.

[ Well that was... really very easy and fairly painless. Minus the space abduction. He kind of wonders if all friendships go like this. ]

Well, good then. Good. We're friends.

[ Is he grinning like an idiot. Yeah, he can feel that on his face. Stop that, Banner. ]

[stillpatsy]

Are you sure you don't know who I am?

[ Because that huge grin is one she has seen on the faces of many fans. It's hard to believe that Bruce would get that excited about just... her. ]

[dyskinesia]

Yeah, I'm sure. [ He nods, tilting his head curiously at her. ] Why do you ask?

[stillpatsy]

[ Well. Now she's feeling a little embarrassed. ]

People usually look that excited to be around me because they're fans.

[dyskinesia]

[ He huffs a little, grinning and shaking his head. ]

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I happen to just like you for who you are.

[stillpatsy]

[ Oh god, her cheeks are feeling all hot. Is she blushing?

Shit, she is, isn't she? ]

Nerd.

[ She mutters, looking down at her feet instead of at him, but smiling. ]

[dyskinesia]

That's mean.

[ But he's smiling too, looking away after spotting that blush on her face. And yes, now he's blushing too. God what a pair of losers. ]

[stillpatsy]

Guess you have bad taste in friends.

[ Gah, how do you even get rid of a blush?

She grabs a bottle of some kind of drink and holds it against one flaming cheek, as if colling it down would help. ]
