Her face starts to pucker. She's never been the crybaby type, but she feels like it right now. "No," she protests, voice wavering and chin trembling. "No, 'm not. You can't act like you're the only on who's got somethin' important to lose. Can't pretend you ain't important."
"I don't want you to. I don't wanna see-" She swallows and tightens her grip on him, shuffling a few steps toward him until she rests her forehead on his shoulder. Even as she argues with him, she's running to him for comfort. She shakes her head against him, taking shallow breaths. "Not again. You can't do anythin' like that again."
She shudders, and she's sure she's getting his shirt wet. But she doesn't pull back just yet. "You're all I got, Kobra."
