Who: Casablanca & Luke Skywanker
When: Mid June
Where: sexy underwater hotel
What: just two kids having some fun
Warnings: maybe a little too much fun for someone from a PG rated movie
[Despite being somewhere she can relax as much as she wants, Cassandra has spent the past couple of weeks in a tense, paranoia filled state. It's not that she minds other people having unlimited credits and going crazy, it's that her mind is running away with the possibilities of what this is really going to cost everyone in the end. So she only ventures out of the ship a few times, generally to meet up with Luke on the beach. The rest of the time she busies herself with work, cutting herself off from most everyone.
It's only when they've been stationed in their location a couple of weeks that she caves in and decides to use a little of her credits, after talking to someone who pointed out how crazy her paranoia sounds. It's with wanting Luke to enjoy himself here that she gets an underwater room at one of the hotels, and figures that if she's not up to shopping and all the other things this place has to offer, she could at least spend time with him someplace she thinks he'll get a kick out of. Fish swimming around where you can watch them laying in bed sounds right up his alley.
Making sure the room looks decent, she goes to meet him at the beach. Another swimming lesson later, they're walking the beach hand in hand and trying to decide what else she feels up to doing. Wondering if he's even ready to be alone with her in a hotel room, she glances up at him curiously. When she speaks, it's entirely casual, as if it's something they talk about all the time.]
I got us a room at one of the hotels here. I thought we could stay there together. [There's a pause, and she thoughtfully adds on,] The entire night.

I got us a room at one of the hotels here. I thought we could stay there together. [There's a pause, and she thoughtfully adds on,] The entire night.

Someone told me about it. I thought you might like seeing it.
[She turns her hand in his, guiding him off the boardwalk to cut across a street that leads them closer to their destination.]
I heard there were sharks, too.
[She's not even going to try to hide the fact she's excited about that, and it's what gets her to grin and walk a little faster instead of stumbling along as he rushes them toward the hotel.]
no subject
[Maybe he'll get her a shark toy.]
no subject
Someone compared me to one, back home. I guess the fierceness fits.
[Looking pleased with herself at being shark-like, she realizes they're basically jogging toward the hotel. She finds herself feeling genuinely happy, and excited. So she laughs, picking up her own pace, dropping her hold on his hand so they can actually race one another to the next intersection. They're only a block more away, a straight shot ahead. ]
no subject
[He realizes after a point that she has the natural advantage; she knows where they're going. It's lucky, then, that she's faster than him, so he doesn't have to worry about losing her in the crowd. Needless to say, she wins. It takes a few seconds for Luke to catch up, panting and laughing.] I- I guess you win. What do you want for a prize?
[It's about as close to actually flirting as he gets.]
no subject
You.
[It's a simple answer, flirting right back at him as she quickly kisses him. She doesn't linger for long, and takes hold of his hand to guide him through the lobby and down toward their room.]
no subject
[Suffice to say he's suddenly a bit out of his depth, and he's starting to feel it. A little red in the face, he's lead along by the hand through the lobby, suddenly blindingly aware that he's wearing bright red short shorts and nothing else. His hair is still wet. Was she serious? Was she joking? How does he respond?]
[So Luke overthinks it and falls into wide-eyed silence, until,] Okay. [Who knew his voice could get so high!]
no subject
Are you okay?
[She wonders, finally taking in the wide eyed look on his face.]
You look scared.
[Or maybe that's just wonder on his face, since they're basically standing in an aquarium right now.]
no subject
[Still laughing, he tries to pull Cassandra into a hug. If she lets him, he'll twirl her around, kissing her on the cheek.] Oh, thank you! I've never seen so many fish. Look at that one! Is that a shark?
no subject
No. [She answers his question, smirking a little.] That's an eel. Sharks are bigger.
[She guides him over to sit on the edge of the bed, her eyes focused in on the water around them.]
I'll let you know when I spot -
Oh! Back there, look! [Pointing up and off to the right, there's a shark off in the distance. Charging at a school of fish with rows of sharp teeth clearly visible. It's dinner time.] That's a shark.
no subject
[And then he sees the shark and gasps.] It's like a krayt! Look at those teeth. [He laughs, then.] People think you're like those?
no subject
I had to be fast and aggressive to stay alive. It's not a bad thing.
[It's better to be a shark than one of the little fishes, in her opinion.]
no subject
[It's fast and then slow, rippling through the water with obvious controlled strength. He thinks of her in the desert with that knife.] I can see the comparison... but I think I like you better.
no subject
[She gives him a light nudge, trying not to mock him too hard. ]
But I can leave the two of you alone, if you want.
[Shifting, she moves like she's going to hop out of bed and leave the room. She does a pretty good job of sounding and looking serious.]
no subject
[Sitting on the bed, he holds out his arms, an opening for some sort of hug. He's completely forgotten about that shower.] Watch the ocean with me?
no subject
Okay.
[She decides to surprise him by moving into the hug a little forcefully, which causes them both to fall back against the bed. They're still able to see things, and it's a little more comfortable. Probably more so for her, since she's using his shoulder as a pillow.]
I almost wish we could stay here forever. It would get boring, but it'd be safe.
no subject
[He opts not to comment on the 'safe' part. He's learned enough of Cassandra's thought processes to know that 'safe' will never not be a concern for her.]
I think I'd go crazy if I got stranded on a planet again. We'll just have to live dangerously. I'm sure you'll keep me safe.
no subject
Does that mean you plan on sticking around for a while?
[Long enough for her to keep him safe, at least.]
no subject
With you? The whole way.
no subject
[Not sure of what word to use, she lightly gestures between the two of them.]
This. Us.
[What does he mean by the whole way? Her mind starts racing, and she does an amazing job of smiling on the outside as she questions everything. ]
Even if you don't know what will end up happening in the end, or where we'll end up? You'll stay with me?
no subject
[Luke turns to face her more fully. Now, he thinks, is probably the time to tell her about the scenario he's been daydreaming about for weeks.] I was going to ask you... when all this is over, when we find a way to get home, if you wanted to come back to my galaxy with me.
[He should probably explain his reasoning, because you're dead in yours, but he wants her to make the choice of her own volition.]
no subject
Go back with you?
[She softly repeats his question, slowly nodding her head to try and show that she understands and isn't in some weird state of dumbfounded shock.]
I'll go, if they let me. To be with you.
[She's not counting on her being allowed to, but doesn't tell him that. Instead, she shifts so she can kiss him. Because if their mouths are occupied, neither of them can say things that might complicate anything further.]
no subject
no subject
What else do you have planned? [She asks once they break away, hoping that whatever his answer is will put her at ease enough that she can attempt to approach the sex subject again. This time more directly.]
no subject
I... I think you'd fit in well, in the Alliance. You'd make an excellent scout, or a tactician.
[That's what she's talking about, right.]
no subject
[Her laughter is soft, almost sounding hesitant. She's so fond of him that she ignores the fact that her paranoia is telling her to run, that she's too caught up in him and things are only going to end in pain. She can't keep letting her fear rule her life.]
Are we going to live together, too?
no subject
no subject
Or anything to say, really. Anything would be good.]
All I know is that I don't want to go back where I came from.
[She said goodbye to home the month before.]
And that it wouldn't be shitty to work for the Alliance. If you'll be there too.
no subject
You won't have to. You might be stuck in the Falcon for a while, but we can't stay on this ship forever. I won't go back without you.
[He's very sure of that in the way only someone in their first relationship can be.]
no subject
So she smiles, trying to show him that his words make her happy, because she fails at saying it.]
I hope you won't have to.
[And since they had been kissing before all the talking, she goes back to that, this time her motions more desperate.]
no subject
[So he kisses her, one hand carefully at her hip, while the metal one stays obediently at his side. Eventually, he has to come up for air.]
You really are beautiful. [That's not much for conversation. He shrugs.] It's all I can think about.
no subject
You can show me.
[It's a suggestion, one that has her completing her intended motion of putting both of his hands on her.]
Instead of telling me how you feel or what you think. Show me.
[She always works better with action than words, and she's completely failing right now at attempting to initiate something with him. Not because she doesn't want to, but because she's finally with someone she cares for and doesn't want to move too fast or mess things up with. So she's left feeling unsure and hesitant of how to go about doing this.
So she'll just push him into saying he's interested, so she can feel more comfortable continuing.]
no subject
[Around Cassandra, he's never felt as out of his depth as he does now.]
[Slowly, he moves his other hand up to Cassandra's jaw, until he's eventually cupping her face in his hands.] I- [No, that's the opposite of what she told him to do. So he leans forward to kiss her instead, slowly and carefully, as though she were made of something delicate and precious.]
[...At least, that's what he hopes to communicate. Moving slowly, chastely touching his lips to hers, he has no idea if he'll be successful.]
no subject
You won't break me.
[It's a reminder to him that he doesn't have to think she's made of glass. Smiling, she slowly warms them both up to deepening the kiss. When she feels they're both relaxed enough, she moves to his lap. Her legs shift so she can straddle him with a practiced ease that she hopes he doesn't pick up on right away. As tempting as it is to keep kissing him, she stops. Mostly to see if he's going to have a heart attack with her on him like this.]
no subject
[He just doesn't know what to do, and that more than anything else is the source of his hesitation. She's beautiful, confident, experienced and intelligent, and he's... just himself.]
[So Luke stares up at her with a warm smile, trying to be confident, if only for her sake. It's what she asked of him, after all. He wants to say something, tell her how much she means to him, but it's starting to sound like that means less if he doesn't display it in some other way. That's what she meant, right? For once in his life, he holds his tongue.]
[It's easier when she's in charge, but he'll try. She's mostly the one in control right now, anyway. If he does anything she doesn't like, she can stop him immediately, and that's an immensely comforting thought, enough so that he can reach up and cup her cheek again.]
I don't- I don't think anything could break you. [He gently tries to draw her down again for a kiss from this angle. He can't think of anything else he can-- or would rather-- do.]
no subject
Except for the fact that she distinctly remembers hearing him say that he loves her in the middle of things, and she hadn't responded beyond some kind of ridiculous sex noise. Which, to be fair, is expected with what they were doing but the fact that someone actually loves her and is willing to tell her is completely foreign and mind boggling to her.
She has no idea what to do or say about it. So she doesn't, not until it's quite some time later and they're silently curled up together. She's never been much of a cuddler, but since it's him she enjoys the closeness. It's comforting in a way that makes her feel safe and happy, even if she's struggling with the vulnerability that she's also feeling. ]
What you said earlier.
[She finally brings it up, without saying it explicitly. And she really, really hopes he remembers what he said because otherwise this is about to get really awkward.]
I'm better at showing how I feel than saying it. [She really hopes that's okay for him, because right now she's feeling raw and on edge thinking that it may not be enough.]
no subject
[He'd forgotten what he'd said, or that he'd said it and not just thought it, in the middle of everything. He's glad Cassandra heard it, even if he's not sure how he feels about Cassandra's response.]
[He holds her a little closer.] You- you don't have to show me anything. I mean- prove anything to me. [Would he like to hear his sentiment returned in kind? Of course. But the fact that she's still here is enough for Luke, even if she doesn't feel the same way in return.]
I'm... I'm just glad you know.
[And he does kiss her then, on the cheek, right over the scar.]
no subject
It's not proving anything to you, Luke.
[She wants to try and explain it to him, so she shifts so she can raise her head, looking down at him with the smile still on her face.]
I'm trying to say that I wouldn't be here with you right now if I didn't care about you. A lot.
[Feel something intense that scares her too much to put words to or a label on.]
This is the first time I've ever been with someone I can see myself having a future with. Anyone I admit out loud that I love, something horrible always happens. I want to say it when I'm not afraid of something bad happening anymore.
no subject
[And anyway, could it really be that bad if she's smiling?]
Okay. I think I understand. [The way Cassandra thinks seems so different to Luke, he's not sure he'll ever instinctively pick it up. But that's fine, if Cassandra is there to explain it to him.] As long as you don't mind me saying it.
[He grins up at her, smirking at his own attempt at humor. He just wants to see her happy, catch her smiling, anything.]
no subject
[She feels frustrated at herself for not being able to easily say it back to him, because she wants to be able to say it. But she's too afraid to now, and is grateful that he understands she has to work up to it. She knows that she's likely trying to be with, and appreciates the fact that he's willing to understand her thought process at all.
Even through her frustration with herself, she manages a smile, because she's so grateful to get a chance to be here with him like this. Life on the ship isn't exactly conducive to being together quietly, which is something that she's finding she really enjoys.]
You can say whatever you feel, Luke. I'm not going to mind.
no subject
That's what I love about you.
[It's painfully saccharine, and on some level, he's aware of it, but being Luke Skywalker, he doesn't care. Too mushy is never enough.]
