SHIP LIFE

"In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments; there are consequences."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and various machines line the walls on either side, though they are not accessible from where you stand. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and sign a contract that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

☄ Due to the circumstances of Caducus Primary, the captains appear abnormally absent. Unlike before, they will not be seen or heard from after processing the newest members of the crew. They can still be contacted via their MID devices for emergencies only, but otherwise, they have retreated to their rooms and clearly do not want disturbed. They are displeased with the events and will be less accommodating in regards to resources and rank privileges. In fact, they may feel less like a privilege and more like a punishment.





☄DRUM THRUM THUD

Reverberations of what has happened to Caducus Primary are still being felt despite having left the chaos behind. After the initial influx of new crew, there seems to be the occasional flicker of the power all throughout the Moira—like a pulse, a breath. Do the shadows move, or is it just a trick of the light? Several hours pass, and a message flashes across all MIDs. It is labeled urgent and comes directly from Thán; however, any responses will be automatically rejected.

Our ship has sustained minor outer damage, and the systems are fluctuating as they reboot themselves individually. Take care of darker areas, and travel with other crew if you need to leave your room.

Crew safety is severely stressed this month, especially after what's occurred, and anyone in need of medical attention is to report to the Medbay posthaste. Yet, the crew may soon realize it's not only the power that appears to be having issues as the days progress in their travels.

☄IN THE FRIDGE

From the 3rd on, things start to grow a bit chilly. With current power issues, a problem that even those in areas responsible for its function cannot seem to solve, there has been a steady decline of less vital life support systems. It soon grows cold enough that sections of the ship that house any sort of water systems may find them slowly freezing over, and even showers don't seem as warm as they should be. ( Those in Mero Deck may find their communal bathroom a rink. ) In the mess hall, late in the evening after all shifts are finished, several pipes rupture and create particles of ice (snow) and a solid slippery sheet across the entirety of the floor. Melting it may be a temporary solution, but as there is no way to keep the water in its liquid form, it might be inadvisable to try more than once.

Other areas of the ship are also open to exploration, though they may be affected by the power and temperature changes as well. Please advise the captains' warning.

[He's just going to stare at the other guy, thinking how he'd spin a lie in this case. Eventually he rubs his hands up his arms and fakes a shiver.] You what? Its bloody freezing mate. Just forgot my jacket, I was in the gym like... didn't realize it was cold.

[There are two things Tyler notices immediately. One, he apparently ran into the angry British dude from his post where he revealed he's a werewolf. What are the odds, right? Two, apparently this guy wants to keep whatever makes him immune to the cold to himself.

... Well, it isn't really any of Tyler's business, so he's not going to pry. Just play along for now.] My bad. Might wanna hurry to go put something warmer on though, looks like it will only get worse.

[... Sadly, that doesn't translate into him sounding much like he believes it.]

[He just looks around them even while the guy speaks. It wasn't until he broke eye contact and listened to the guy that he realized who this was. His head swings around instantly and his eyes go wide.] Oi you're the bloody wolfman! You here to tear my head from my shoulders or what? [There's even a shit-eating grin on his face because he was just that much of a dick.]

And I'd say things might be about to heat up again, cardio does that for a bloke if he's running away from mythical monsters, innit?

[Well that was just the quickest change in attitude he's ever seen. Pretty impressive really. And amusing enough to warrant a chuckle, even if Ade's shit eating grin really is pretty dickish.] Well, I wouldn't know, but either way, you're out of luck. Not moony enough to even put me at my wolfiest, let alone chase guys around to rip their heads of.

[He doesn't like the fact that this guy chuckles at him. It wasn't meant to be funny for him.] But there's loads of bloody moons out there? Shouldn't you be changing more than a bird getting ready for a date? [Because that was exactly what he thought.] Not that I'm complaining. I like my head where it is, innit.

[Sorry Ade, takes a bit more to piss Tyler off.

Either way, he shrugs at the question.] Too far away from them, not close enough a full moon to get me going... I don't get the mechanics of being werewolf in space any more than you do, honestly.

[He's surprised, really.] Yeah well I still think you're proper weird. No harm, mate, but it don't exactly sound like my cup of tea.

[whynotgoonmyown]

[And a shrug goes here.] Fine by me. Wasn't planning on turning anyone here, probably won't change my mind there, so... You're good.

[forcefulgift]

[He tilts his head to the side.] Wait... you can turn other people... into a werewolf? [He hadn't seen that in the one movie he'd watched and he's totally clenching a fist just in case he needs to crush this guy's spine.]

[... He's just... Blinking in slight confusion for a moment, because uh...] Yes? I mentioned it in the video I made. If I bite someone while I'm turned, they become a werewolf. As I am, it's just a regular bite.

[forcefulgift]

[He's not happy with that at all, not really.] And they're still bloody well letting you run around the place? Should proper keep you in a cage, mate. [Which is harsh, coming from the boy who hates the very concept of imprisonment.]

I'm presuming innocent until proven guilty, or dangerous, I guess, is how the captains roll. So... No cage for me if there's no need.

That's all well and good 'til you actually do tear someone into bloody shreds, mate.

If I tear someone to shreds. Which hasn't happened in the 17 years I've been a werewolf, nor has it happened to anyone I know; and thrust me, I know a lot of werewolves. [He realizes Ade can very well just not believe him, but really, how can he not even mention something like that.] Besides, from what I've seen since I got here, if the captains locked up anyone that could possibly be dangerous, a decent chunk of the crew would be there. Not very practical to just do it from the get go.

[He's just going to continue to look at Tyler as if he was waiting for the other man to grow fur and claws while taking a heavy gulp of his drink. Despite the fact that it was breakfast there was quite clearly something alcoholic about it.] Point mate, point. Guess I forgot that space-kidnapping means we've got every psycho and horror movie villain under the sun. Makes a normal bloke sweat.

[Booze for breakfast, huh? Well, he can't blame Ade, not really.] I wouldn't go that far, but I'll take your word that my point's made.

[He didn't even expect Tyler to notice the alcohol, he just keeps drinking.] Yeah yeah, whatever, you've made your point. An' I'll run with it too 'til we've got ourselves a bloody full moon and you try to eat someone.

[A shrug at that.] Meh, I don't think I'd ever want to eat a human. Pretty sure humans aren't kosher, for one.

I don't even know what the fuck that means mate but I'm glad you don't wanna eat any humans.

No? [Well, he's not the first.] Well, long story short, even if I wanted to look past the whole murder thing, eating humans would still be against my religion. That's what I mean.

[He just lets out the biggest sigh known to man.] Oh great... so our personal safety is relying on you being a bloody religious man. I'd have preferred things if you just 'fessed up and told me you were a serial killer.

[And at that... He really can't help but let out a laugh, because wow! Calling him religious was a bit of an exaggeration.] Oh man, I wish my grandma could hear you, just so I could see her face. I'm really not that religious, dude.

[after a moment he collects himself.] And that's not what I meant. Your safety's relying me not wanting to kill anyone for any reason. I was just saying, even if I did want to hurt anyone, none of you would be on the menu for different reasons.

Oh right then... So what is your idea of a good meal? Is it just that were all too old or something and you prefer your food to come in smaller packages? [He was absolutely convinced of the fact that Tyler was into eating people despite what the other man might say.]

[Yes, he's really starting to see that. He's fairly sure Ade won't believe what he's about to say, but hey, Ade did ask.]

Personally, I'm always a sucker for fried chicken. Great thing about living in Texas, it's really easy to find great places that serve it. Also, machchli amritsari. That's fried fish wrapped in a spicy batter; tastes awesome if you drizzle it with lemon juice. But if I'm looking for something lighter, Israeli salad more than does the trick. [A beat before he adds...] And while they're technically a condiment, pickled lemons are the shit. I can eat them on their own like they're candy.

[Adrian blinks a few times staring at Tyler, he didn't want his confusion to be that obvious but listening to someone describe food in depth or even talk about their favourite things was always going to freak him out. He didn't understand and confusion was one of the emotions he couldn't help but wear openly.]

Yeah mate, I get you... [Except he runs a hand through his hair and takes another drink of his breakfast liquor.]
