The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and various machines line the walls on either side, though they are not accessible from where you stand. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.
Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and sign a contract that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.
MERO DECK ● NOMO DECK ● MORO DECK
☄ Due to the circumstances of Caducus Primary, the captains appear abnormally absent. Unlike before, they will not be seen or heard from after processing the newest members of the crew. They can still be contacted via their MID devices for emergencies only, but otherwise, they have retreated to their rooms and clearly do not want disturbed. They are displeased with the events and will be less accommodating in regards to resources and rank privileges. In fact, they may feel less like a privilege and more like a punishment.

☄DRUM THRUM THUD
Reverberations of what has happened to Caducus Primary are still being felt despite having left the chaos behind. After the initial influx of new crew, there seems to be the occasional flicker of the power all throughout the Moira—like a pulse, a breath. Do the shadows move, or is it just a trick of the light? Several hours pass, and a message flashes across all MIDs. It is labeled urgent and comes directly from Thán; however, any responses will be automatically rejected.
Our ship has sustained minor outer damage, and the systems are fluctuating as they reboot themselves individually. Take care of darker areas, and travel with other crew if you need to leave your room.
Crew safety is severely stressed this month, especially after what's occurred, and anyone in need of medical attention is to report to the Medbay posthaste. Yet, the crew may soon realize it's not only the power that appears to be having issues as the days progress in their travels.

☄IN THE FRIDGE
From the 3rd on, things start to grow a bit chilly. With current power issues, a problem that even those in areas responsible for its function cannot seem to solve, there has been a steady decline of less vital life support systems. It soon grows cold enough that sections of the ship that house any sort of water systems may find them slowly freezing over, and even showers don't seem as warm as they should be. ( Those in Mero Deck may find their communal bathroom a rink. ) In the mess hall, late in the evening after all shifts are finished, several pipes rupture and create particles of ice (snow) and a solid slippery sheet across the entirety of the floor. Melting it may be a temporary solution, but as there is no way to keep the water in its liquid form, it might be inadvisable to try more than once.
Other areas of the ship are also open to exploration, though they may be affected by the power and temperature changes as well. Please advise the captains' warning.

Mero Deck (FORREAL THIS TIME)
She stops when she catches sight of someone else in the main area as well. She’s already gotten used to seeing a recurring cast of faces on this deck and this man’s is not among them. Her words are blunt, with no attempt at preamble or small talk.]
Who are you?
no subject
The armor this person is wearing isn't exactly like Gray Fox's, but it's close enough that the sight of it makes Snake's mouth go dry. He doesn't need the reminder, sees his old friend's face often enough in his dreams.
The woman's direct question is enough to pull Snake away from those thoughts. He stops in place, figuring that he shouldn't make any sudden moves. ]
One of the poor saps who just got dragged here. [ Snake tilts his head to one side. ] Who are you?
no subject
I figured that much. Nobody comes aboard by choice. [She stops a few feet short of him, expression hidden behind the baleful gaze of her helmet.] I’m Athena. You still haven’t told me who you are.
no subject
Athena, like the Greek goddess? Or maybe it has nothing to do with that. Names really aren't as important as people make them out to be, but it seems like she won't rest until she gets one. ] Snake. From Earth. [ Because apparently that needs to be part of his introduction now. ] Do you normally wander around in full armor? [ It's possible she can't live without it, but if she's expecting danger, he'd like to know why. ]
no subject
Not on the ship. Combat is not part of my assigned duties here. [There’s a note of disappointment in her voice when she says this.] However, the captains apparently believe we have reason to fear some sort of danger outside our quarters. [She turns her head marginally towards one of the swords at her side.] I wanted to see what it was. [And, judging by her garb and weapons, kill it.]
I didn’t find anything. And the captains seem no closer to telling us what exactly the danger is. [The disdain is easily detectable in her tone. In her experience, a commander is supposed to give clear, direct information and orders to their troops. Athena’s pretty sure the captains of the Moira have provided her with neither since she arrived here.] If you’ve just arrived here, you should know not to expect any leadership from them.

Snake isn't surprised that Athena's searches came up with nothing. He lets out a derisive noise and shakes his head. ] I think it's more likely they're saying that so that we keep our noses out of places they don't think we belong. [ Snake hasn't been here for long at all, but he's already of the opinion that the captains are good for nothing. ]
Don't worry, I wasn't planning to rely on them for anything. [ Not when they essentially kidnapped all of them, only to refuse to even give them the time of day. ] But that still doesn't answer the question of what's happening on this ship. [ Snake's gaze creeps over Athena's shoulder, looking past her as if something might be lurking down the hall. But there's nothing. ]
no subject
She glances over her shoulder, following Snake’s gaze, but just as before, there’s nothing. She looks back at the man quickly.] As far as I can tell, it’s a routine power outage. [At least, it would be routine if they were grounded on a planet. When they’re flying through the cold void of space, it’s… rather more worrying.] The captains claim the ship’s systems are rebooting themselves. [She frowns.] Though if it is such a routine process, they are being unnecessarily theatrical about it.
no subject
Snake has to agree that a power outage happening when they're out in space is more than a little disconcerting. He's got no delusions about the fact that he's bound to die young, but that doesn't mean he wants it to happen out in the middle of nowhere, on a spaceship that means nothing to him, surrounded by strangers. ]
Unnecessarily theatrical is right. [ He bows his head and shakes it, unimpressed. ] So where are you going now? [ Athena still looks like she's on some kind of mission, although maybe it's the armor that suggests that. ]
no subject
I don’t have anywhere to go.
no subject
In that case, you're probably better off heading back to your room. [ He gestures over his shoulder with his thumb. ] At least until we have a better idea of what's causing all this.
[ Which doesn't explain why he's out and about on his own, but Snake doesn't feel that he needs to answer for that. ]
