[open] moth drawn to a flame
Who: Yata (
skatebird) and you!
When: May 26th
Where: Galley
What: Yata cooks to take his mind off things.
Warnings: None so far.
[ It's been... interesting, for lack of a better word, since they left Del Pascia. Yata has been a little paranoid since then and stubbornly refused to set foot on Amissis-Re as a result. This place doesn't seem any less shady than the prison had an like hell he's going to risk getting eaten by more zombies or ripped apart by bizarre space-time screw ups. As the month wears on and he hears more and more reports of what's been going on planet-side, he's increasingly glad that he's stayed on the Moria this whole time.
The downside being that most of the month in he starts to get really bored. It's impossible to not feel a little stir crazy and his available outlets have gotten increasingly sparse. Eventually, he turns to cooking. It's not a talent he likes to admit he has, but judging by the smells that waft from the galley before long he's quite talented. Those familiar with such dishes can probably recognize what he's making as curry, though others will simply smell something a little savory, a little sweet, and a lot of spicy.
Anyone who enters the galley will be greeted in one of two ways. Those that are familiar to Yata and strangers that are simply curious will be met with a friendly wave and a cheerful: ]
Hey!
[ ... But anyone who's being a pain - either by crowding Yata as he cooks or otherwise causing a fuss will get a flat, more annoyed sounding: ]
Oi. Knock it off.

I only did that cause you're so picky! If you'd just eat like a normal person I wouldn't have to sneak weird stuff in.

[ And Yata will prove it. He picks up a little tasting saucer and ladles some curry into it before offering it up to Fushimi, a challenging and expectant expression on his face. ]

He's trying to mend bridges. He's really, really trying. As hard as he can! So, in the interest of not completely pushing Yata away -- for, like, the ninth time -- he takes a small taste of the curry. ]
... it's not awful.

[ Yata's insistence is immediate and heated... but after a moment he relaxes and grins, looking a little proud of himself. ]
It has to be, if you actually ate it.

It could be better.

Just not today, it seems. ]
I can't believe you're still so picky. Don't they only let you eat certain things in the military?

Everyone else has parties and makes hot pot. [ Of course, Fushimi avoids the gatherings at absolutely all cost, but it's not necessarily because of the hot pot.
It's a little because of the hot pot. ]
