THE INFLUX
"It is not so much about beginnings and endings; it is about muddling through the middle."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar.

Welcome to Caducus Primary

Shortly after your arrival, you are met by one of the captains and any of the crew of the Moira who might have accompanied him. You are given a brief physical scan and are asked to sign a contract that states you are now part of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. Much like the Moira's own Ingress, C-Primary's Ingress seems to be malfunctioning, and nothing can return through it. If you choose to disregard this offer, you will be detained indefinitely by the natives of Caducus Primary. (Joining the Moira is really the only choice you have.)

DESCENSION
"I am the keeper of fragile things."

From a distance, Caducus Primary doesn't look like much. The weather on the planet is extremely stable, and the vegetation is neat, almost pristine. What stands out about C-Primary, however, is the fact that there are hundreds of VERY TALL buildings packed together in many of the cities. They are elevated about the ground on what appear to be stilts and sway almost gracefully in the gentle breeze that is always present. Their stability never wavers; they don't fall down. The streets are lined with beautiful sculptures that are placed wherever light is needed. Many other designs can be found outside as well as in. This planet is rather wealthy, and the abundance of their natural resources reflect in everything. The world glitters just as glass would in the sunlight.
Native Details
● They have darker skin tones, but their hair styles and colors are all as unique as they can make them. This can be seen as influence from other travelers.
● Friendly, welcoming, and encouraging to the crew to trade with them for what they need.
● There are no visible "poor" areas.
● Calm and organized. If lost or in need of directions, they will offer to take you where you are going.
● Vey strict when it comes to rules. (Trade what you say you're going to trade.)

CITY PROPER
There are many things to do once on planet. In the city proper, stepping into one of the multiple shops reveals workers crafting glass figurines, jewelry, cups, and other items to your specifications. Trading is the same as on all other planets—there is no one accepted monetary unit. Yet, any unsavory cargo (such as weapons, explosives, alcohol, and drugs) will not be found anywhere in the vicinity of these areas. Other travelers have set up places outside the cities near transporter zones for these particular necessities. Trade at your discretion. At night, if you catch your reflection in a surface that isn't quite as transparent (on a sculpture, the side of a building, anything made of glass), there will be a momentary glimpse of your past or future self. A blink, and then, it will be gone.

Staying on the Moira isn't required during time spent on Caducus Primary. Visit one of its many fine hotels with its beautiful accomodations. The price is remarkably inexpensive: it's free.

[That dismayed look quickly becomes a scowl.] I haven’t had anything to drink. [Never in her life, actually.] And I know what I saw.

[She turns back towards the remains of the shattered statue.] We should report this to the captains of the ship. If this was some manner of trap, then others could be in danger.

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-11-17 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You haven't? Well fuck, must be something in the air. Just like that exuo shit on the last planet, yeah? [He never realized how difficult it was to make someone sound completely insane.]

[His eyes narrow quickly though when she mentions going to the captains, his stance becomes instantly tense, a little more aggressive.] How 'bout we don't do that, eh? How 'bout we just keep going on with our merry little lives without worrying the captains about some bloody broken glass.
pallantias: (TOO CLOSE)

sorry for the delay! college happened ;_;

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-11-27 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Athena narrows her eyes.] It wasn’t just some glass breaking. It was an explosion. We have a duty to report this so our crewmates can stay vigilant.

[She crosses her arms.] If you don’t agree, you don’t have to report it. I can tell the captains myself.
forcefulgift: (lxv.)

its cool life happened here too!

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-11-28 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[His eyes narrow even as he flicks the cigarette.] You don't ahve to report nothing mate. Honest. Musta just been some bloody freak accident. [Even as he speaks though, his tone turns harsher. He really couldn't afford to get her reporting to the captains. Not with the potential repercussions it could have for him.]
pallantias: finding icons for her is so difficult help (freaking prison bars in the way)

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-11-28 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Athena isn’t the best at picking up on social cues, but even she can recognize the aggression in the man’s voice. She glares back at him, her suspicion only growing the more adamant he is about the issue.] Why does it matter to you? What will the captains do?
forcefulgift: (lii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-11-28 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's about five seconds away from growling, folding his arms over his chest.] They ain't gonna do fuck all, mate. 'Cause no-ones gonna tell him about this. 'Cause its clearly got nowt to do with us.
pallantias: finding icons for her is so difficult help (freaking prison bars in the way)

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-11-29 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Athena isn’t cowed. Garbed in her Lance armor, she isn’t at all intimidated by the unarmed man before her.] If it’s so inconsequential, why do you care who I tell? What are you trying to hide?
forcefulgift: (ii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-12-01 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
[God damn people and not being cowed. He couldn't even properly threaten the woman unless he wanted to reveal that he's a psychologically crafted mutant weapon.]

I ain't trying to hide nothing, alright? I just don't think the bloody captains need to know 'bout this shit. [What a beautiful double negative there, Ade.]

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-12-02 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it doesn’t affect the captains themselves, but they need to let the other crewmembers know if there are explosive traps on the field.[She turns away, intending to leave the man there.] If you don’t want to report it, fine. I can do it myself.
forcefulgift: (lxvii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-12-04 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
[This... this was not going to plan at all. And Adrian wasn't exactly good with things that weren't going according to plan. He turns to follow her and steps a little heavy, a snarl coming to his features. He even reaches out to stop her, which, potentially was the worst of decisions. Because his mind makes one of those split second decisions, the part of his mind that is more of a weapon than a human. His fingers curl into a fist and the wall of glass beside the two of them explodes outwards.] No.
pallantias: (5)

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-12-06 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Athena instinctively brings up her arms to shield her face from the second explosion, too surprised to properly get out of the way. The shards of glass draw bleeding lines across her face where they make contact, but fortunately, the rest of her is protected by her armor.

Unfortunately, Ade isn’t the only one trained to react to the unexpected with violence. The second the glass is no longer a danger, Athena draws her swords, and in an instant one is raised at pointed at Ade’s throat.]

You… you did that. [It takes a concerted effort on her part not to run him through immediately for the affront.] If you try that again, I will kill you.
forcefulgift: (lxxi.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-12-08 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[He almost feels bad when the glass explodes across her face, but he needs to push that aside. Because really, he shouldn't give a fuck. Instead his eyes narrow even further.

Especially now that there are swords, one by his throat. He just chuckles, because sharp objects didn't really scare him.
]

Maybe I did, mate. Which is exactly why you shouldn't try and fuck with me. [He doesn't have swords but he still has his hands, and he curls his fingers into a proper fist, slamming down with gravity in the area. Unless she had a mammoth level of super strength, she'd have a hard time keeping that sword pointed anywhere near him.]
pallantias: (5)

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-12-17 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[The sudden, massive shift in gravity is enough to knock Athena down, sword slammed into the ground as she catches herself on one knee, a grunt of pain and surprise escaping her as the shockwave runs up her leg. She glares up at her foe, eyes burning with anger.] How are you doing that? [She hisses.]
forcefulgift: (lxxii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-12-18 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[He just grins at her, it isn't the kind of glance that's shared between friends. Adrian takes a little step back in his head and Force comes out to play, in certain situations that he's needed like these Ade is almost thankful for his training.]

How I'm doing it, mate? Power. That's how. The kind of power you really don't wanna bloody well fuck with by going off running your mouth to the captains. [He pushes down again with his power, making her know that he was only testing the extent of it before lifting off completely. His voice seemed too cold and there was something not quite there in his eyes.]
pallantias: finding icons for her is so difficult help (freaking prison bars in the way)

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-12-21 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Athena seethes at being threatened, but she only gets a few seconds to glare up at the man before the gravity in the area slams down once again, forcing her gaze to snap downwards and her hands to press into the glass-strewn pavement beneath them. For a moment, she wonders if he’s capable of simply increasing the gravity until she’s crushed like an insect under an invisible hand; the thought fills her with equal parts fear and indignation.

The second he releases her, she grabs her swords and stumbles back from him. She stands, tensed in a combat stance, but makes no attempt at a retaliatory attack. Instead she stays stock still, her expression that of someone who would really, really like to make another attempt to put a sword through the man’s throat, but is holding herself back. After a moment, she finds her voice.]

Even if I don’t tell them, the captains will find out. [She tilts her head towards what remains of the statue he had shattered.] How long before you do that to something on the ship? Or someone?
forcefulgift: (lxxii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2015-12-21 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's still that sick smile on his features even as they stand in their impasse. He rocks back on one foot, taking his own fighting stance. His hands come up but this time he doesn't do anything with the gravity around him, instead it just makes it very clear that he's also a fighter, just one with some impressive talents to boot. He'd left his own swords on the ship or he might've challenged her to a fair fight.]

Ah but here's the thing mate, the captains know fine well what a bloke like me can do. It'll all be in my file. There's always a bloody file when it comes to these things. And when I might do something like that? [His grin stretches wider.] Well mate, my first day 'ere I threatened to do something like it with one of the captains. Told her I got a smoke or I'd tear the ship apart... what did she do? She went ahead and gave me a bottle of vodka.

[Even though that time it'd only been a threat, this time he'd done something, something he knew would get him put in the hold.] I just can't have a bloody bystander running 'bout the place running her mouth, neither.

[personal profile] pallantias 2015-12-29 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Athena’s eyes narrow.] And the captains allowed that? [For Athena, authority has always been all-encompassing, absolute. The fact that the captains apparently acquiesce to the whims of an unstable miscreant, especially one who should be under their command, is so pathetic it’s almost unthinkable. It also precludes her previous plan of reporting the man to the captains; if he had already directly threatened one of them and they had in fact rewarded him for his insubordination, she doubts her own report would bring about any meaningful results.]

They’re weak. [She shakes her head, disgusted.] I won’t go to them, only because there wouldn’t be a point. [Slowly, her swords lower from their raised position, though she keeps a wary eye on the man for any sudden movements.]

What are you anyway? [Her gaze flicks towards his left arm for a fraction of a second.] You’re clearly not a siren.
forcefulgift: (lxxii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2016-01-03 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[He just chuckles.] Yeah they did. Then again they know exactly what's in my file mate... ain't no hiding anything from them. Figure they knew better than to try play any games. Still never got me my fags mind, had to buy them myself. [He actually grins when she calls them weak though.] They sure as fuck are... never seen such a sorry excuse for authority. [Which was probably good, considering how Ade reacted to authority figures. But he'd been in much harsher environments than the Moira, with much harsher authorities.

He lets his own hand fall, reaching again for the packet of cigarettes he was keeping in his back pocket, he wasn't going to strike the woman unless given another good reason. But he didn't need to look like a font of power either, not when he was fairly convinced that her own worry over his own powers would scare her enough to keep her from trying again, he lights the cigarette and blows a gust of smoke upwards.
] What am I? I'm nothing, mate. Just a bloke. [Even if he didn't quite know what a siren was.]

[personal profile] pallantias 2016-01-04 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[At least regarding the relative competence of the captains, they are in agreement. His next words get a scowl out of her though.]

Normal human beings can’t do the things you can. Not without some kind of alteration. [Her eyes scan over his attire, looking for some kind of mod or energy source.] Is it tech? A mutation? [Every once and awhile, Athena would encounter mutant bandits with strange abilities on Pandora, though none of their powers were powerful enough to change gravity itself and always seemed to come at the price of extensive physical disfigurement. Seeing as the man before her is not hideously deformed, it seems more likely that he draws his power from some kind of device or weapon.]
forcefulgift: (ii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2016-01-05 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[He just smirks, shrugging, he barely blinked when she said mutant.] I can strip down and show you if you want. Totally normal bloke, fuck you can go and ask the medbay if everything insides all normal too if you really want. [Except they would maybe reveal the fact that there was something inherently wrong in his mutated DNA.]
pallantias: (TOO CLOSE)

[personal profile] pallantias 2016-01-10 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I’ll pass, [she deadpans, though Ade might catch the slightest scrunch of her nose at his offer.] You clearly know there’s something… abnormal about your abilities. Otherwise, you wouldn’t bother to hide them.
forcefulgift: (Default)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2016-01-13 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[He files that nose scrunch away for later.] Ain't nothing abnormal about them, either. [He delivers it with just a little bit of malice. Especially considering how he felt about his mutation; about how it put him above others.] Ain't you ever heard 'bout keeping your cards close to your chest, mate?
pallantias: (Default)

[personal profile] pallantias 2016-01-16 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Say what you will. You wouldn’t threaten me if you had nothing to hide.

[She shakes her head.] But if the captains already know, then you’re their problem. Not mine. [In other words, she won’t risk her life to confront him. He isn’t Atlas, after all.

She still doesn’t trust him enough to turn her back on him just yet though.]
Are we done here?
forcefulgift: (lxxxii.)

[personal profile] forcefulgift 2016-01-16 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe threatening folk is just what I do mate. Ain't like I've got anything better to be doing with my time.

[Because wow fuck, he clearly had so much to hide but he would continue hiding it while he could.] I ain't anyone's problem, either. Not like they own me.

[He nods tersely.] Yeah, we're done. So long as you know that running your mouth ain't the next move you wanna be making.
