Heh, maybe that's it. Must be fun, having a double. All's I got is a brother. [Sans swirled his drink, taking a beat to think on that point before making a speedy conclusion.] Not that I'm complaining, having a brother's pretty great.

N', well, I don't not come here often. [A toast! To alcoholism.] Let's just say the bartenders have a mop on hand in case I come around.

[On cue, Sans took another drink. It doesn't take long for some of it to run off through his body, dripping onto the floor.]

[Venom watched the drink run down the guy's body and drip onto the floor. Being a skeleton must be pretty tough.]

I come here once in a while. Last time I came here I got drunk with Ocelot. [It was a good time though. The time before that it was Kaz who was drunk. Snake helped talk to his friend and bring him out of his miserable stupor.]

Always like to meet new people in here though. What's your name? [Snake held out his good hand to shake.]

Mustache lookin' dude, right? [Sans grins broader, holding up a finger under his "nose" for emphasis. Of course, that's hardly very descriptive.] Don't know him myself, but I know some people who do. N' now I know one more!

[He juts out a hand, inviting the stranger to shake.]

Put 'er there, pal. Name's Sans.

[Venom shook the guy's hand and offered him a polite nod. It was good meeting new people, right? Even if they did look like a skeleton dude.]

Yeah, that's him. Dresses like a cowboy. [Because Snake knew how much Ocelot loved to dress as an old west cowboy.] How long have you been aboard?

That's the one. What about you, lose your harpoon? [Sans' grin widens behind his glass, snickering to himself.] I've been around since, yeesh... more than a few months now, I think. Were you here for Emiri?

Huh? [Yeah, he's not getting the joke, Sans. Sorry.]

I don't know what you're talking about. [Emiri? Uh nope.] I got here just under a few weeks ago now. Still trying to find my way around the ship.

[That's fair. Classic literature is a pretty shallow pool. In the case of his home, quite literally.]

Oh, man, so you're super new. Well, uh. Word to the wise, I guess, most of the planets you're gonna hear mentioned around here are ones we left in ruin after leaving. Just to lay some expectations.

You could say that. [Even though he's new he's heard more things here than he's heard in his life time. The truth about himself, the fact that there's another Big Boss; the real one. Ocelot and Kaz are aboard with him. A lot to take in.]

Why do the planets end up getting destroyed?

Well, they're not always destroyed. Not in the literal sense. [Implying that there are, in fact, a few planets that were destroyed in the literal sense. Welp.] But they always seem worse off, somehow. Maybe a few of the changes are for the better, but we never stick around long enough to see how all the unrest shakes out.

[To his actual question:] So I guess, I dunno? Our captains like to meddle, I guess?

Are you saying that the captains are responsible for the destruction of these planets? [Because he doesn't like the sound of that.]

Sounds like they don't care.

At least one, yeah. That was before I got here, though. [Sans rubs at the back of his skull, brow bone furrowed.] It had a funny name, like a toothpaste. Cat Guts Primary, only... y'know, more like a toothpaste.

[Yeesh. This ketchup was working through his system fast.]

It was made of crystal or glass or something, though, so maybe it was an accident. The people there for it really don't like talking about it.
