OTA and Closed
Who: Chara and misc!
When: Any time, will probably span as far back as Feb 24th
Where: Training Simulation Room, Library, maybe Medbay, and misc
What: Chara learns things about and in the simulation room, and avoids counseling where they can.
Warnings: General dark theme warnings for Chara! Also Undertale Spoilers.
Training Simulation Room - OTA
The Simulation Room's Default Environment #4 settings reminded them of a magazine cover. Not the interesting kind, but the boring one, with green golf courses and perfect people with perfect teeth. They were in a similar green field right now. The sky was completely blue.
Chara lifted their wrist, poking experimentally. Hadn't there been a note taped to the wall somewhere talking about controlling the room from the inside? It hadn't been very clear, and Chara is distracted for several minutes.
Without much outward warning the field shifts, and suddenly green is mixed with a carpet of yellow flowers. The effect on Chara couldn't be more different: their wrist falls to their side, and they don't seem bored anymore.
It's a sight that could hold them for a long time. They'll probably still be standing that way when someone else arrives.
Library - Closed
Their eyes hurt, and every few minutes Chara catches themself staring vacantly at some shelves beyond the book's top. They're not used to this much reading, and it's taxing them like exercisng a rarely used muscle. Can they really keep this up forever? Probably not. They have't thought that far.
There's nothing long-term-thinking at all about the way they've taken to hiding in the library. Their MID weighs on their wrist like a leaden weight, and they know there's things they should be doing. Screw those things! No one's the boss of them. They turn another page very defiantly, sinking further down in their chair.

"Is that what you've been fishing for this whole time?!" They should be an artist: outrage, frustration, and disgust all blend perfectly, like colors for a painting.

"Fishing for? I thought I was being rather blatant." He did say he wanted to get acquainted with them after all.

There's a thousand things that someone could find wrong about Chara, and he'd probably be interested in any of them. They don't want to give him that reach. Why does he have to be someone they hate? Why does any of this have to happen, couldn't the jury have found some punishment that left them otherwise alone?
Of course not. Chara needs fixing. They make a face, considering several ideas, and discarding each one. They're all wrong. Isn't there some side of themself they could show that isn't vulnerable?
Oh.
"I barely feel anything when I kill, now."

When he hears the words though his eyes move, focusing once more on Chara's eyes, making sure the statement had been truth, making sure it was an actual true admission- something that he knew wouldn't just be to placate them... something most people wouldn't readily admit.
He moves quickly, nodding firmly even as his hand drops into his pocket and the illusion around them drops, returning them to the library. Chara's book was even still on the desk where it'd been when the doctor first arrived. He smiles openly. "Good. That will be where we start... tomorrow I'd like you to tell me if you always felt that way or if your relationship with killing changed somewhere along the line. It gives us both something to think about over night."
He moves to the chair and picks up his jacket, putting his arms through the sleeves, buttoning it.

"Is that it?" Their voice rises in what threatens to be a yell. They jerk, swinging an arm to encompass the void that no longer surrounds them. "All that--and now you're just going to go?"
no subject
He smirks and its not a pretty expression. "I'm ready to leave and suddenly you're ready to talk, is that it? I'll happily stay if you think it would serve us both well? If not, I'd simply like for you to think about what we've discussed thus far."
no subject
"I'll think about all of it."
Their tone and face say nothing, and even without his empathy it all screams about how much should have been there. Emotional playing-dead at its finest? They look down at the table, affecting calm through their barely-constrained tension.

When they reach 'three' they seize the book on the table by its top cover, flinging it violently to their right. It tears from its binding and hits bookshelves when it lands, and Chara's already grabbing another book before that one hits the ground, throwing this one too.
The third book is only chopped downward, spine hitting first and pages springing apart. They want to tear the room apart, they want to tear Eric apart. Getting away from this place will have to be enough for now, and Chara storms from the room.
They can't kill him. Not yet. Maybe someday, but they can't right now, and...
Someday. Someday they will.
