[closed] let's be buddies!
Who: Wash and Victor
When: March 4th
Where: Mess Hall
What: Just buddy system buddies meeting up and talking.
Warnings: none right now, will update if need be.
[ So, Wash is a little late at getting into contact with his buddy system buddy, but in his defence, he was frozen in cryo for almost a month, and he needed a few days to get resettled. Once he finally felt more normal though, he was quick to look up what he'd missed over the few weeks, and who he'd been assigned as a buddy, apparently. Not that he has any objection to it! Actually, he likes the idea of the system. He wouldn't have minded having a buddy to show him the ropes of the place when he first showed up.
Once he felt sufficiently caught up, he was quick to dial up his buddy, Victor, over the MID system without much thought about it. He wants to be as helpful as possible, especially considering he's late at getting to it. Over the call, he suggested they meet in person to really talk, and told Victor he'd meet him in the Mess Hall--somewhere they can sit as long as they want, chat, and even eat or grab a drink if they want. Seems like the perfect place to him.
Thus, Wash is there, sitting at a table off to the side, waiting patiently for Victor to show. All he's got with him is a cup of coffee, black, and he's dressed in his default ship uniform. It's always tempting to wear his armour wherever he goes--it's what he's used to--but it seems more inviting and less intimidating to not look like some kind of space robot. So, regulation clothes it is. Now he's just left hoping that Victor doesn't take too long getting down here. ]

He's not late, arriving at the time they had discussed, a public place preferable to him since he didn't know this person.
His suit is straightened out before he comes into the mess hall, eyes flicking from person to person until he recognizes the man from the directory on his MID device. Walking over, he nods curtly, sitting across from him.]
Victor Budarin.
[He keeps his hands on his side of the table, a brow raised.]

He sits up straighter in his seat as Vitor approaches and watches as he takes a seat. Returning the nod, Wash offers a smile and it occurs to him to maybe offer a handshake, but the way Victor positions himself on his side of the table tells him that this might not be welcome. For now, he'll just stick to introductions. ]
Nice to meet you. I'm Wash. --Technically Agent Washington, but Wash is generally less of a mouthful.
[ Insert a nervous chuckle here. Quick to clear his throat though, Wash shifts in his seat and looks across the table, his own eyebrows raising curiously. ]
How've you been finding the Moira so far? Sorry you've been on your own for so long, I wanted to contact you sooner, but... Well, there were some circumstances that made it seem better to wait a little while.

Agent? What branch do you work for?
[He doesn't say what branch of Division, because Wash might work for the FBI or CIA. Victor is an agent himself, of a part of the United States government, but he doesn't share that because it always attracts trouble.]
It's fine. Not the nicest place I've lived, not the worst. What circumstances made you wait?
[Victor doesn't expect to always get answers, but he asks questions anyways.]

[ Most of the people who ask specifically "what branch" you worked for tended to also be an agent of some kind. Which is cool, that means that they have something in common, sort of! Should make it easier to get along, right? ]
That's a better review than I've heard from some people, so that's good. [ An amused smile crosses his face, but settles to something more neutral as he moves to answer the question. ] I was in cryosleep for three weeks, and I only got out a few days ago. It took some time to...re-adjust to being awake, and everything.
