[She hears a familiar sound even as the lights flicker off and on. It sounds like someone's riding a bike. She moves closer to the wall, squinting to try and see who it is. No one she recognizes, even if for a moment she'd hoped for Lucas or Dustin or Will. Hell. Even Mike. But no. It is, however, another boy, probably around her age. He goes right past the hallway, and she exhales, but then he backs up to look at her.
For a moment he looks wary, and she imagines there's a similar expression on her own face. She thinks he's going to leave again, but instead he speaks.
