[He manages, somehow, to pull himself to his feet. He doesn't see Chara fall, or be swarmed, all he knows is their attention is drawn from him for long enough for him to stand, as laborious as it is. He notices dully that his hand is already coated in blood from where he's holding it to the wound.
A few guards approach him, stun batons in hand. He doesn't know what's happening, but he knows he's in no shape to fight them. He knows what their intentions are. He knows where they want to take him.
One of them rears back, to strike him with it, knock him out, take him back to--and something in him snaps. He just thinks,
No.
He doesn't make a choice to run. He doesn't really make any decision at all. He just thinks no, and a blind panic fills him, and then he's somewhere else, several meters away, past where he and Chara had been hiding in the first place. The sounds of the commotion still ring in his ears, but he's not thinking, just moving. It's all instinct. All fear.
He runs.
It's a blur. He doesn't remember where he goes, just that he's going, and they're not following him, and then after a while he registers he's near one of the sewer entrances, but all the energy is flooding out of him and he can't possibly lift it, to go back underground.
But he needs to--he needs to tell someone--
In the end, all he can do is stumble back and collapse against a nearby building as his legs buckle.]
