Oh god this is happening.

"Books are an archaic and inefficient method of storing information," she growls, lifting an eyebrow. "Though I suppose that the contents, are often acceptable."

"You mean like...e-books?" Steven asks, a little puzzled for a moment. He brushes it off. "Haha, sorry! The place I was before here didn't have those - it was just paper of nothing!"

Ah. He did mention... At this, she actually looks interested, though her expression is still shrewd, eyes narrowed. "Yes... exactly what was this, 'place' that you keep mentioning, anyway?"

His face immediately falls a little, but it's not enough to stop him from explaining.

"Oh...it was called Ryslig. It was sort of like this, where you just get...kinda sucked in? You just show up there one day. Except instead of a spaceship, it was caused by this thing called the Fog God...who turned everyone they brought there into different kinds of monsters."

'Because she wanted us to eat the humans' is the part he leaves out.

"I turned into a nymph! Like, a plant person. Which is why I'm like this now."
