SHIP LIFE
"It is not the ship so much as skillful sailing that assures a prosperous voyage."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and various machines line the walls on either side, though they are not accessible from where you stand. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and sign a contract that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and into the main hall with specific instructions not to leave.

MAIN HALL ( 09.01 to 09.03 )
After everyone is gathered together, you learn that these are your accommodations for the night. The captains explain that the Moira is not readily suited for such a large influx of people, and that this is only temporary. Placed around the room are a variety of blankets, sheets, and mats in lieu of beds, and crates of MREs have been provided along with H2O hydration kits. Some time in the “morning hours”, all MIDs will receive a message designating rooming assignments and areas of the ship that are open to exploration.

GALLEYMESS HALLREC AREA

All remaining areas accessible to crew members are open later in the “evening hours”. Crew are also informed that the Moira is approximately two days from their current destination.

DESCENSION
"A force of nature unto itself."

From a distance, the planet’s reddish atmosphere slowly becomes more transparent the closer the Moira ventures, and mountain ranges, volcanic fields, valleys, ice caps, canyons, deserts, and impact craters are visible in stark detail. The remnants of a lone moon hangs in its outer orbit and impedes the ship’s ability to dock close to the planet’s surface. As the crew prepares to disembark, there are noticeable changes in gravity as well as some disturbances in energy output.

EXPLORATORY EXCURSION I ( 09.04 to 09.11 )
Due to unstable atmospheric conditions, crew members must utilize the transporters located in the Cargo Bay to descend to the surface. Each craft holds upwards of six passengers and is piloted remotely via Navigation. Once it lands, orders will be sent to MIDs detailing mission directives. These include: scouting surrounding areas for potential threats, determining if the mile-long road from the transporter to the nearest inhabited area is free of hazards, and assessing local friendliness.
Planetary Environment Details
● The air is breathable. However, there is a pleasant sweetness to it that generates an overall invigoration.
● Vegetation is sparse due to dry and windy weather patterns. It’s dusty, and the ground itself is rather gritty in texture.
● The initial temperature feels hot and causes the skin to prickle with sweat. Yet, the longer one is exposed to the elements, the less you are inclined to notice.
● There is an overall lack of civilization, and what populace there is remains centralized in one area. Crew members may stumble across the occasional explorer returning to their own ship; they are friendly and welcoming but also eager to leave.
● The sun does not seem to set. Even in the “later” hours of the day, it is still as bright as it had been at “noon”.

EXPLORATORY EXCURSION II ( 09.12 to 09.17 )
A thriving marketplace that was found during the initial search has been deemed an appropriate place for trade and much needed supplies. Crew members are encouraged to engage in local customs while continuing to maintain their current duties aboard the Moira, and they must assist in the delivery of goods to the transporter. They are more than welcome to explore this new area.
The Marketplace
● There is no monetary system in place; if there is an item you want, trade for it. (Locals will accept anything as payment.)
● Booths, shops, and tents line both sides of the pathways weaving throughout the area. Signs with written language are not recognizable; however, MIDs will translate any spoken languages so they are understood. Vendors are an eclectic mix of species, and not all of them are humanoid in form as they are from varying parts of the universe.
● The smells of foreign foods are everywhere. Yet, that familiar sweetness seems to occasionally overpower it. It is also loud as others bustle about their business.
● Natives are not unkind, but they are not as overly welcoming as strangers in the market are. They are quiet, reserved, and helpful to some extent. They are easily recognizable by the plain masks and hoods worn over their faces.
Seedy areas are found in the depths of the market. Drug and sex trades are not uncommon but not openly displayed.

The first thing Loki does is familiarise himself with as much of the ship as he can, and for the day he can be found in pretty much any corner of the ship accessible to the new crew.

Of particular interest to him, and the places he returns to the most, are that locked morgue door, the bar in the mess hall, and the galley.

Catch him by the morgue and he'll be frowning at the lock, green light playing around his fingers. Approaching him will get a surprised look, very quickly followed by a look of complete innocence. Him, pry? Of course not.

Catch him by the bar and he'll be looking a little longingly t the shelves behind the counter. Approaching will get you a friendly wave and a comment.

"Do you suppose they have anything strong enough to get very thoroughly drunk on, behind there?"

Catch him in the galley and he'll be dangerously close to pouting. They gave him a job, but not the proper tools or supplies to do it with- and perhaps not even the people for the job either. It's so very unfair, really it is. At least someone's made some attempt to tackle the state of it, but it still needs a lot of work to function as a kitchen.

"You know, I'd object less to being forced to work here if they'd made any attempt to stock this place reasonably."

space bar;

Eggsy's exploring, too. It's not really for the purpose of the job given him, intelligence operative, but he figures it can count as that if anyone asks why he's snooping.

"Why don't we look?"

He grins at the stranger, pulling his hands from his pockets, placing them on the counter and easily hopping over to the other side. Eggsy crouches down, rummaging through things, standing back up with a bottle in his hand.

"Here, but I dunno what it is."

The label is written in a language he doesn't understand, but it looks like booze.

"That would be the quicker way of finding out, true. I like the way your thoughts are running."

Loki can read the word, but it's essentially meaningless to him. Not that he minds, all that much, and he joins Eggsy on the other side of the bar, although he chooses to take the long way and saunter around the bar. Well, it might be a little embarrassing if it decides to collapse under his weight.

He pulls a couple of glasses down, pulls a face at them, but... well, if the booze isn't going to kill them, it will probably take care of anything on the glass, at least.

"I have no idea either, but at least the experimentation could prove interesting." He looks the other man up and down, eyebrow a little raised, making no secret of the fact he's doing it. "I suppose if we're drinking, we should probably get to know each other a little better, yes? I'm Loki."

Eggsy's mouth quirks, things were really starting to get interesting. His brow raises, and he cocks his hip to the side, gesturing down the length of himself, bold because why the fuck not.

"Like what you see?"

His smirk turns into a grin, and he twists the cap from the bottle.

"I'm Eggsy, nice to meet you, Loki."

His head cants to the side, almost of its own accord, and then he's looking Loki up and down. The appraisal to check him out as much as it was out of curiosity.

"Parents a fan of the Gods? Namin' you Loki and all?"

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-09-03 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Loki can certainly work with that response, and he smiles back, one side of his mouth turning up higher than the other.

"It's a better sight than most, at least. Nice to meet you too, although I doubt that's your birth name.

Not that Loki can talk about pseudonyms.

He holds out one of the glasses, clearly indicating yes, fill it please. He's still smiling at the look over, both eyebrows raised, looking down at himself; he's got his headgear on, and his armour over the uniform because like Hel he's going anywhere without that, and Gram strapped to his belt just in case, so it's all a little incongruous, but better safe than sorry right now.

And yes, he is quite pretty these days, if he does say so himself.

"I wouldn't say fans, no." He grins, amused, because he's used to not being believed, but it's always nice to meet someone who at least knows who he is. "Would you believe me if I told you I'm the god of mischief?"

"Thanks, bruv. And, nah, it ain't. Name's Gary. Prefer Eggsy though."

He drops the cap on the counter, pouring some of the liquid into both glasses. Eggsy sets the bottle down, taking one for himself.

"Like the literal god Loki?" His lips purse, humming softly in the back of his throat. "Alright, yeah."

Eggsy clinks their glasses together, scooting closer, an elbow resting on the bar.

"I could believe it, but I'm a see it for myself kinda guy. Can you show me that you's really Loki?"
realitywarped: (Neutral - Obvious Answer)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-09-04 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Understandably, I suppose. You don't strike me as much of a Gary."

He shrugs, the hand not holding his drink palm up in front of him. There are things he can do, but proving who he is to someone who knows nothing of him but legend- that might be tricky.

"I can prove I can do magic and I can shift my shape, but that doesn't really prove anything, does it? What exactly would count?"

He takes a sip, pulling a face. Well, it's certainly strong, at least. He can't place the flavour at all, though.

"...Although, to be fair, you could ask the large amount of Avengers available. Most of them have had runs in with one Loki or another before."
commontype: (2)

[personal profile] commontype 2015-09-05 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Eggsy mimics Loki, taking a drink of his own, grimacing, and he almost, almost, coughs, but he manages to get it down without choking.

"Ya know, that kinda makes sense. Like you could do anythin' but that don't mean anythin' really. Could just have magic. Or shift your shape. Wouldn't prove nothin'."

But, now that he knows that's on the table, he really couldn't be arsed whether he was actually Loki or not. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. All Eggsy knew was that he was good looking, drinking with him, and that he could do magic.

"The Avengers?" Eggsy squints. "Like the superheros from the movies?" He tips his head away, mulling it over, but considering where he is and what he's seen so far, he can't really count anything out. An open mind would serve him best.

"Anyways, I figured out how you could prove it to me." He steps closer, a brow raised. "Give us a kiss, then I'll know."
realitywarped: (Unhappy - Rueful)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-09-08 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
He takes another large swallow. It gets a little better, but not by much. He even avoids laughing at his new drinking companion's face at his own sip.

"Superheroes, yes. From movies? They're very much a real thing in the world I come from, but I suppose they could be purely fiction in yours. It happens surprisingly often."

He tilts his head, considering it. It's not that there isn't an appeal to the thought, because something simple and uncomplicated would be rather pleasant. And Eggsy is by no means unpleasant to look at, but. Complication, alas, is rather inherent.

"Sadly I don't think my Avenger would like it all that much. And as silly as I find Midgard standards, he's- stayed with me, for a while. And I owe him. Perhaps some other day, when I've had chance to talk to him first?"

Billy really wouldn't like it, with his very human and teenage romance standards. And in a strange new place, he'd rather not risk making Billy miserable enough to try something stupid just yet.

Flirting, though, Billy will just have to live with.

[personal profile] commontype 2015-09-09 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
He sighs softly, dramatically lifting and dropping his shoulders. Eggsy is disappointed that there won't be any kissing between him and Loki, but he understands and commends the God for his decision.

"Shame then, that you's not free for kissin'."

Eggsy takes another drink, expression a bit more serious, brows raised.

"You've got a fella? An avenger no less? I ain't the type to be gettin' in between anybody, not unless it's wanted."

He's not a cheater and he doesn't want to be a part of hurting someone like that; he does smile though at the last part, shoulders relaxing again.

"Well, it ain't a hard no, so now I can't whine that you've gone and broke my heart."

His cheeks are a bit flushed, probably the weird space booze, and he has to take a second to clear his eyes. "Fuck."

"I wouldn't say I have him. More, perhaps, that he has me. But- yes, there's someone I'd rather not upset."

He smiles, a little ruefully, because turning down people actually offering to kiss him goes entirely against the grain. It hasn't happened all that often over Loki's lives, any of them.

But he's spent too long trying to keep Billy alive and not sunk into his own misery to change that now, as much as it still bemuses him that not only does he want Billy alive and well, Billy- seems to appreciate it, at least these days.

"You'll know him when you see him, most likely. Dark hair, ridiculous fringe, wears all his emotions on his face, very easy on the eyes. He's rather... bewitching, in fact."

He can't resist the joke, even if it won't make much sense to Eggsy.

"But- very much not a no because of you, no. I realise it's a very poor second, but give me a moment and I'll show you a little magic, yes?"

He tilts his head, not sure where the last piece of invective came from.

"Something wrong?"

[personal profile] commontype 2015-09-17 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Eggsy stores that bit of information away for later. It was interesting. Here he was standing in front of Loki, a God and they're talking about an avenger that said God may or may not have. It was sweet, and it made Eggsy like him more.

"Guess I will know him when I see him. Especially if he's cute as you say."

He doesn't get the bewitching part, but that doesn't matter.

"Yeah, not quite as good, but I'll take it."

Magic wasn't something he's got experience in, certainly never seen it before. So he's more than a little excited to witness it first hand. Still not as good as a kiss, but nothing to scoff at.

"Nah, just gotta watch how much I drink or I'll be needin' ya to carry me back to my room."

He has to be careful with magic, these days, careful not to make the story too unlikely in case the universe pushes back. He's had enough of burning, thank you.

But illusions- illusions are what he does, what he in the end is, tricks and smoke and mirrors.

"From Yggdrasil hang the ten realms, from Muspelheim to Jotunheim, from Asgard of the gods to Midgard the mortal realm."

He sketches a rough tree shape in the air in green magic, pushes it a little to become a remarkably solid-seeming image; the world-tree and the realms, as seen from the end of one of the most distant branches, writ no more than two foot high. It's little more than a very detailed magical hologram, hanging in midair.

"There. Only a little magic, mind."

He tilts his head, smiling, looking Eggsy over. Standard human weight, not terribly much at all.

"Carrying you will hardly be a problem, I assure you. Godly strength and all that."

"I.."

Eggsy's dumbfounded, actually. Most certainly in awe. Loki says only a little bit of magic, but it's pretty fucking cool to him.

"That's amazin'. I've never seen anythin' like that before."

He's about to ask him to do something else, when he catches the other comment.

"How much can you lift? I know I ain't super light, but not heavy either. How much can a God carry?"

Eggsy steps forward, too fast, too sharp, and his head swims. He sets the glass on the bar, both hands reaching out to hold himself up.

"Ain't no way I"m pissed, barely had anythin'."

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-09-24 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
He has to smile. It's not often he gets nice comments on his magic; Asgard doesn't appreciate it all that much, and by the time he'd come to Earth he'd already been the villain, and Verity couldn't even see illusions. And there'd been little time for the pleasanter forms of magic in the underworld, so he's a little rusty, honestly.

But he shrugs it off, because praise isn't exactly something he takes well, and raises an eyebrow at Eggsy.

"Things much heavier than one human, trust me. I've never officially measured it, but I know my wiki page estimates it at about fifty tons."

He might also have altered his wiki page back home, but then again he needed to. He wonders if anyone changed it back, afterwards.

"This is a completely unknown alcoholic drink, of unknown provenance and mystery ingredients. It's strong enough I can feel the kick. Who knows what effect it will have on you?"

[personal profile] commontype 2015-09-25 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
His wiki page? Eggsy would have grinned and laughed at that, because he never thought he'd hear any god talking about fixing their wiki pages, but he can barely get his vision to clear. Groaning, he reaches out towards Loki.

"Alright, bruv. I hate to be a light-weight, but I need to go."

A hand to his forehead, his face scrunched up, he groans again.

"I don't think I can make it."

Yeah, he'll be totally embarrassed later but right now he knows he needs help. Or he's going to end up passed out in the middle of the bar.

"Give us a hand?"

He eyes Eggsy for a moment, weighing up the choices, and then ducks his shoulders under Eggsy's arm, catching his weight. Scooping him up seems a little sudden, and possibly prone to causing misunderstandings, although it was tempting for a moment.

"You do realise I'm the god of mischief, yes? I could decide it would be mildly amusing to lead you to, oh, the wrong room."

Not that he would; Eggsy has been good company, and also can be rather cute. Loki's just interested in what he makes of the job title. He smiles, only slightly mischievous, and looks at Eggsy from the corner of his eyes.

"Which room am I taking you back to?"
commontype: (15)

[personal profile] commontype 2015-10-01 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Eggsy wouldn't complain if he'd carried him princess style. He wasn't really in the position to fuss, even if he did want to do that, but he didn't and Loki was strong and comforting right then.

"Ah, no. Didn't think 'bout that but everyone could stand a bit more mischief in their lives, yeah? An' if you're gonna take me to the wrong room, least make it yours."

He's trying to flirt, half attempting it anyways, and he turns his face towards Loki, grinning widely, unevenly, at the God.

"I don't remember, but it's in Nomo. The Nomo deck."
realitywarped: (Amused - Wry)

[personal profile] realitywarped 2015-10-09 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
He smiles back, crookedly. Billy would kill him if he tried anything- or, more worryingly, cause harm to himself, but he has to admit there's something fun about flirting.

"Alas, Billy is uninclined to share, and having rather ruined his trust in me once, I'm not about to do so again. Besides, it's tempting, but you're inebriated. If I were to do something, I'd rather you knew who and why and could properly appreciate it."

He's also pretty sure he'd regret taking advantage when he doesn't need to. Not that that always stops him, but he does try to be better these days.

"...still, I think you're better in my room this once, where at least I can keep an eye on you. I suppose I'll just have to test the weight capacity of the top bunk."

"Well, then.. if ya do wanna kiss me, you know where I'll be."

Sort of, because right now he didn't even know where his room was, but the ship couldn't be so big that Loki could never find him again. He sticks his lower lip out, pouting.

"Alright, yeah. Let's go before I pass out and m-make a worse fool.. of myself."

His eyes are wide, and he reaches out, placing a hand on Loki's shoulder to steady himself.
