"Let them in, and take them out."

[Jack knows him intimately, after all. He doesn’t say it with any kind of hostility in his voice—just a plain statement of fact. He knows Gabriel Reyes, and though Reaper is a far cry from that man, they’re similar enough that Jack likes to think he can predict how he works.
And of course, Angela’s worried about him. It twists that thing in his chest and it takes him a moment to answer, like he’s deciding how to approach this.]
I’ll be careful, Doc. You can trust me.

Angela doesn't know what Reaper's life had been like, and she certainly couldn't get a lick out of 76. His statement is met with a soft acknowledgment under her breath, a mere hum as she settles another sheet over another corpse, still not even halfway through those remaining.
To discuss such things in the midst of such carnage is the closest she's been to queasy in some time. Worry had a way of knotting her up that the most grisly scenes couldn't manage. "You can trust me," and there's that twinge again. That familiarity that plies at the fine webbing of cracks in her.
She can't help but wonder why she feels as though she can trust him. ]
I do hope you're right. [ Then, a little offhandedly in an attempt at casual nonchalance: ] How is your leg doing?

[Or this whole operation will end in disaster for everyone. He'll just have to trust in his own abilities and hope that luck is on their side. He takes a moment to watch Angela, trying to piece together what might be going through her mind. If she's having suspicions and trying to talk herself out of them.
But he supposes it doesn't matter, not when they're settling on this common goal. Easier said than done, when he isn't functioning at full capacity. His knee doesn't get by her--of course it doesn't.]
Better. Still healing.

She's trying so hard not to project wants and wishes on this man; it's clear he's had a rough enough life without her adding to it.
Angela had iced his knee early on, after all. She doesn't forget wounds. Isn't that all the more reason he's been wary around her? And all the trekking has done him zero favors in healing, no matter how she may have urged him to rest and elevate his leg once they set up camp and hunkered down each night. ]
It's been made no easier with the constant activity and stress put upon it. I hope you've been remembering to ice it and keep your leg up when you can?
[ The look she gives him is almost apologetic— that she can't do more, that she's fussing, that she's burdening him with her thoughts at all. Yet she picks up her staff and triggers it when it's nearing his direction, hopefully providing a bit of a boost and some temporary pain relief. Just a quick zap, really, because any more wouldn't do him any good— then she's climbing to her feet. ]
I should let them know that there's more people to remove, now. Try to clear a wider path to allow more people through and begin the burials before it's dark.

Trying, Doc.
[But he probably isn't icing it, relying far too heavily on his own accelerated healing to do the job. He doesn't object to her use of the staff, and stays quiet about it when she alleviates the pain in his knee, but he's silently appreciative.
It's that feeling that signals he's probably overstayed his welcome. No sense in continuing to get comfortable with each other, and it seems that Angela is having the same idea.]
I'll catch up with you later.

It's all I can do too. I'm sorry, 76. You take care of yourself, and I'll see you later.
[ It's only brief, but she passes by him and lays a hand at his arm, something easy and friendly before she's stepping over a covered body and sets off without another word. There's always something else, isn't there? ]
