"Let them in, and take them out."

"Incredible," Kenobi says, somewhat at a loss for words. It's only recently that he's even given in to the possibility of something — anything — beyond the Jedi Order, so to hear so much of reform and devotion and flexibility still takes some getting used to.
He folds his hands together in front of him, smiling at Luke. It may feel a bit like a new start each time he meets Anakin's son, but there's still something in the Force that comforts him about this company nonetheless. "It sounds as if you've had quite a life, Luke. After all you've experienced, did you ever expect to find yourself in a situation like this?"

Coming to a stop, Kenobi places a hand over a scorch mark on the wall. Try as he might, he can't tell if it's from a scuffle or just a persistent accident from when this hall was more commonly used. He decides against investigating further and stops near a doorway leading into a room strewn with papers and parts.
"Admittedly, when I realized Anakin and Padmé had children, it was wholly unexpected. I found your sister in the Force and there was no denying the truth of it." It's hard not to look back on their first meeting with fondness, even if they hadn't seen eye-to-eye on everything.
"And when I met you the first time— Luke, I hope you'll understand how proud I am to see how well you've done for yourself. You had told me I had some part in guiding you in the very beginning, but it's clear to me you passed well beyond my teachings very early on.
"It shows a wisdom well worth admiring."

"It's been a rough road." He said." And even I have been unable to escape temptation. The Dark Side came closer to capturing me than I wish it had. And there are things I still cannot totally escape the shame of having done. I suppose what matters, though, is that I came through. Still, if I hadn't had Leia to help..." he sighed.

"You are human before Jedi," the Jedi Master suggests, then nods slowly. "As it should be, I think." Although that hadn't quite been the practice in his time. "You've learned a lot from just experiencing that alone, I'd wager."

"And yes, I did learn a lot. I do think it certainly made me stronger in the end. I think perhaps it also gave me some experience when I needed it later....helped me to better help my niece and nephew. They both were tempted...their brother's death, the war...and the older boy was a captive for a time."
Luke chose not to go into too much detail on Jacen. If he ever should come here, it would be his place to tell what he wanted, not Luke's. A little general information was enough.
"I had to do what I could to keep both of them from being lost. So far, it seems to have been enough. Jacen's still troubled, changed...as I suppose we all are...but hopefully, it will be enough."
