"Let them in, and take them out."
|
floor one
He... might also have been shifting gradually closer to Frisk in the time he's been here, albeit a little more hesitantly than he might if it weren't for the, from what he's seen, rather less friendly child near them.
Speaking of which. Seeing Chara's eyes lock onto him makes him freeze in place, and it takes a moment for him to tear his gaze away from theirs - and even then he doesn't manage to make himself actually move away. He'll just. Poke at some random objects on the floor.]
increase kids
[The problem with giving Frisk an unlimited inventory--they will hoard up ANYTHING.]
[When Chara's attention snaps around again Frisk pauses, and looks up at them when they don't immediately relax. They turn, following their partner's gaze, and startle with guilt to see just who it is that's come up upon them both.]
Ginko!
incrase determin
They have a tendency, after all, to love and forgive and ingratiate themself with those that will and continue to hurt them.
Chara straightens up, their spine rigid and ramrod, as they watch.]
I believe we've yet to be formally introduced.
and now: Fear
...Hey.
[Speaking of people not wanting him around. He manages to make eye contact again, just for a moment, before looking off a little to their left and shoving his hands in his pockets.]
Um. Yeah, I'm... my name's Ginko.
gently fold together one part each anxiety, depression, and trust issues
He's a friend. We met when we both first got here.
[Turning back to Ginko, they bite their lip before tucking the PacDisk away and standing up.]
Ginko, this is Chara. You...um. You didn't talk t' them much before, right?
add salt and stir thoroughly. no more salt. more. that's not enough salt.
Frisk's smiles are hardly a reassurance. Frisk smiles at the things that kill them. Frisk smiles at the notion that they will be living side-by-side with a murderous child with a fondness for knives.
Frisk smiles at potted ficuses.
Among other things.
And they name the Fallen Child, of course. No dignity for the dead any longer, and no respect for secrets. Chara smiles, and it is of a significantly less friendly brand than Frisk's. Their cheeks practically glow with the wide arc of it.]
I cannot imagine why one such as he would have nothing to say.
no subject
[It doesn't really help matters that Ginko isn't the hardest person to intimidate to begin with. It doesn't really matter that this kid is probably younger than him, or that they're a friend of Frisk's.
They don't want him here.
On the other hand, he's kind of used to hanging around when he knows he's not wanted. So he stays put, giving a small shrug.]
...'M not very interesting, I guess.
no subject
That's not true! You told me a lot about th' mushi from your home, an' we talked all th' time about all sorts of stuff.
[Of course, it's that past tense that makes guilt lay so heavily in their chest. With how they'd been trying to distance themself from everyone else, the people they'd cared about had already started to drift away. They had other people to worry about, and that was good...but Ginko had always been fairly isolated. He didn't have many other friends than them.]
no subject
Chara turns to quirk an eyebrow in Frisk's direction, remarking flatly as though Ginko were not even there:]
He even mumbles like you do. No wonder you two get along.
no subject
[His voice is getting quieter by the second, and when he says that it's barely audible.
What Chara says, though, does get his attention enough for him to speak up... sort of. He's still a ways below what most would consider a regular speaking volume.]
Frisk doesn't mumble that much.
no subject
[This time Frisk straight up pouts, crossing their arms and casting Chara an annoyed look and speaking up at the exact same time Ginko does.]
He doesn't mumble!
no subject
They speak in unison. How positively saccharine.]
Then perhaps I should ask the pair of you to buy a vowel? What have you against the concept of full words?
no subject
Th-there's nothing wrong with how Frisk talks. It's not like people can't understand them.
no subject
[So what if Ginko speaks a little oddly? It's not bad! They still understand him just fine!]
'S just how we talk, 's not a big deal.
no subject
[Chara continues to smirk, idly, their contempt little more than a thin drape over their continued suspicions regarding this person, Ginko (only five letters! How grand).]
I was simply stating that it comes to no surprise.
no subject
[Whatever tiny bit of annoyance had made its way into his posture slips away. He's not actually sure he quite believes them, but okay.]
What about you, then? With... how you talk and everything.
no subject
[Frisk's reply is truly mumbled this time, soft enough to only just be heard and really not meant to be. Frisk looks between Ginko and Chara when he speaks up, biting back on the first joking response that comes to mind. They really want Chara to at least not regard Ginko with hostility, and poking fun at them won't help that any.]
no subject
So I can only presume that you spend your spare time braiding each others' hair and making daisy chains?
no subject
Now the shift in his posture is less a loss of tension and more kind of...wilting. Just a little. He makes another attempt, speaking up just a little louder, like they might just not have heard him.]
How'd you end up being friends with Frisk?
goes again real quick FORGIV
[Given their sunny smile and the alacrity with which they replied, can you honestly call it a lie? It hardly even counts as an elaborate twisting of the truth, really! Not that they've any reason to be pleasant. What point would there be in living a lie?]
I possessed their shambling corpse for a time and used it to murder their friends. Frisk just has such a love for parasitic influences, you see. But you would know that, would you not?
[#justdemonthings]
TEN THOUSAND YEARS DUNGEON
[Okay there is just WAY TOO MUCH TO ADDRESS HERE. Nevermind that Chara was...uncomfortably on-the-nose with how Ginko and Frisk usually spent their time, treating Ginko like that isn't acceptable! And just what the heck are they trying to say about themself???]
You are not a parasite! An' neither is Ginko, you both help me!
no subject
There was kind of a lot to process in that sentence alone, but that was the first thing to hit him - not that he can stay focused on that for long. He winces, only able to stare down at the ground in guilty silence as Frisk argues against what they said.]
no subject
Forgive me. What would you call it when one exerts all their time and effort upon a single person who does not bother to give back?
no subject
[Frisk's gaze flickers to Ginko for a moment, and they plow on.]
An' b'sides, you never stole my body! It was--it's both of us every time, it always was! You never forced me int' anythin'!
no subject
[That smile of Chara's widens, brightly. If there is a pattern to this behavior, Frisk, they would really like to know!]
