[Don't worry. It has been shitty in Thedas lately. And "shitty" is the general state of Kirkwall. Hawke just gives a shrug.]

Kirkwall is a bit of a shithole to put it lightly. Sadly, it's become my shithole to protect from people who want to make it even shittier.
