Where: The Ingress Room and Section U but also where ever your mingle takes you.
What: Trying to unwrap the puzzle of the Ingress and Ploitoas

NOTES: This is a multi-part log for This Ingress Journal Plot. Since most folks were up for threading interactions! You DO NOT need to have signed up to participate in the first part of the log. Anything from noodling on the journals to blowing spitballs at the nerds.

For reference here is the IC announcement about this plot. Again you DO NOT have to have responded to them to come around and investigate what's going on.



OOC: This log is going to be split into three sections with a fourth spot for results to be posted as the characters work things through.

Some details:

1) ICly this log will cover just the beginning of November.
2) The mods have a plot kicking off on the 15th of November. Elements of this player plot lead into that plot.
3) These are the key IC events that lead up to this.

• This event introduced the Ingress Journals
  
• This IC call for help set off searches for one of the missing journal, leading to the discovery of the second.
  
• This is what one journal looks like and This is the other.

Because I'm basically magic illiterate.

I don't have any elemental affinity, so I couldn't attend any of the schools or guilds specializing in magic back on my world.

I mean, if this thing can translate the runes, that's great, but I don't know how much use I'll be as an engineer if it comes down to magic.

[Ronan lifts an eyebrow. He's having trouble with the general philosophy of the others on this ship, that science and magic are somehow innately separate.]

Runes are just a type of language. Elements have nothing to do with it.

Maybe around here, but where I come from, runes are attributed to different elements. Each of the four key elements have runes associated specifically with them.

I always kind of wanted to know what they meant. Working them into my armor and weapon designs would boost sales among those who were magically inclined.

Besides, I'm still happy where I wound up. I wouldn't be a master blacksmith otherwise.

You're not a master blacksmith anymore. You're a prisoner on an alien spaceship. And you can't read runes.

Hey, no matter where I'm stuck, I'm still me. That means I'm still a master blacksmith, and as long as I have that? I'll get by.

If I can't read them now, I'll learn. As for being a prisoner? I've spent some nights in the drunk tank before. If this is prison, I've definitely seen worse places.

Yeah. Being kidnapped and trapped for the rest of your life in the dead void of space is definitely not worse than the drunk tank.

Like these runes, for instance. And the tool you've just given me to decipher them.

Never would have had that opportunity back home.

Sounds to me like you're working with us. Either that, or this is a trap.

[He's not even going to dignify that with an answer. Unfortunately, Ronan has a rather sinister appearance that's not very good at convincing others that he isn't a soulless demon. It makes a trap seem completely plausible.]
