Maybe he should call Jean regardless, see if she could keep him calm. "You didn't see what I did, what he's going to cause. I let him out, that makes it my responsibility."

He wants to believe he wouldn't have done it if he'd known. Even if Jean had assured him things would work out in the future, Peter still couldn't help but feel he'd played a hand in what had happened with the Sentinels. Those fears, in turn, had played into so many of the messes he'd created here.

"Telepathic and she can, like, fly. Telekinesis, I guess you'd call it? Her powers are cool." Charles might not need Peter to hype Jean up, even he wasn't mean enough to think the older man didn't appreciate for other's mutations. It was just that her powers reminded him so much of the Wanda here. Peter couldn't help but get a little excited, especially when Jean felt the need to be so hard on herself.
