[ A slow dance is no doubt the easiest sort of thing they could do, but in some ways also the most intimate. It's a choice Snake would have picked apart in any other situation, but Angela's already got her arms draped over his shoulders, so he's more focused on where to put his hands. They end up at her waist, a light touch that allows both of them to sway in time with the music. There's still that creeping feeling that he has no business doing this, that this isn't the sort of thing a soldier like him does, but he's able to shove it aside with little mental effort.

Her promise earns a brief smile from him. ] Maybe you should have worn taller heels. [ He doesn't actually mean that; he wouldn't want her to hurt herself by stumbling or turning her ankle, although she seems to know what she's doing in this sort of situation. It's enough to make him curious, but Snake figures he'll ask her about it later, when he's not trying to follow along with her.

It's true that he's light on his feet and has impressive control over his own body. It's just that he's never used it in this context before, and so he needs some time to adjust. For that reason, it's good that they're starting off slow. ] I'll try to keep an eye out, make sure we don't crash into anyone. [ He doesn't think that's actually going to happen, but he lightly jokes about it all the same.

Since Angela seems so focused on his own enjoyment, Snake decides to set her worries at ease as best he can. While he still doesn't feel completely comfortable, she's right that it isn't terrible. He can put up with it for a dance or two, at least. ] Not terrible, no. But we're just getting started.

[ He can't help but be a little difficult, but he's still going with the flow, so Angela can probably see that as a win. ]
