Who: Asriel and YOU
When: August 6th
Where: A lot of places! Your room, the janitor's closet, in a cargo box, etc.
What: A tired goat keeps falling asleep in places he's not supposed to be
Warnings: Random snail facts?

Asriel's lack of proper sleep had been a problem for a few days now. It was harder to concentrate, frequent yawning, and more recently... he kept finding himself dozing off at random.

And soon enough, Asriel's sleeping problems start to become a problem for everyone else on the ship. He'll end up wandering into other people's rooms by mistake, before flopping onto their beds and drifting right to sleep. Sometimes he can be found passed out in a janitor's closet, sprawled out in the garden, or curled up and snoozing behind the bar (it's a mystery how he got there).

Wherever a person is going, or whatever they're doing, they're bound to find a sleeping, snoring goat in their way. And if someone tries to shake Asriel awake, he mumbles something before trying to turn over and going back to sleep.

"Snails have a long tongue called a radula. The radula has 14,175 teeth... zzzzz..."

"I'm...?" A glance around the room as Asriel wakes up more - what in the world he doesn't even remember walking in here. The embarrassment is clearly written on his face, his cheeks burning as it dawns him that he must have wandered into Mettaton's room and flopped down on his bed thinking that he was in Toriel's room the whole time.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize, I thought..."

Asriel's voice trails off a little when Mettaton's quietness registers with him. Was he mad at him?

"Mettaton... are you okay? I, um, I can go back to my own room now. I'm a little more awake..."

To his credit, as soon as he's called out, Mettaton immediately switches to a more positive expression and responds enthusiastically, "No! No you don't have to go, I don't use the bed anyway, dear!! You can use it! You must still be tired!!!"

...Pity that he's unbearably transparent right now. Some days are just better than others.

"I never took you for a sleepwalker though, I must say."

...A sleepwalker. The idea makes Asriel smile a little bit. Maybe if he was he'd feel a little more restful then he does. Mettaton's reaction doesn't go completely over his head, but Asriel's not sure what he did or said wrong.

"I'm not, I just haven't slept much these past few days. Come to think of it, I don't even remember walking in here... or where I was before I walked in here."

Mettaton's enthusiasm dials back a little once he's not questioned anymore. It's practically reaction at this point; instead of bristling, he tended to explode with unnecessary enthusiasm.

"i wish I could be more sympathetic, but sleep is not something I fully understand," he admitted. If he was sleeping, it was induced by low power, or he'd been killed. He was weird like that.

"But regardless, feel free to use my bed. That was an honest offer! And I assure you that I will not poke you for snail facts."

Did Asriel know about that? Probably not, but he certainly did now.

Oh, right. Robot. Asriel rubs his face a little, but he's not sure if he'll be going back to sleep right away. But something that Mettaton says causes him to pause.

"...Snail facts?"

He sure doesn't know that he does that.

Oh.

"Yes, snail facts. And apparently jokes. You take after your mother quite splendidly in that regard."

Mettaton thought it was cute. Almost as cute as the face Asriel's making now, but honestly he's charmed by the kid's confusion. Awww~ He didn't know he was a joke and trivia dispenser when sleepy!!

"I... really tell jokes and snail facts in my sleep?"

Oh boy it's hard to see the red under that white fur, but the embarrassment is clearly written all over his face. He looks like he might sink into that bed a little. Did he always do this when sleeping? Or was it because he was really that tired?

"I didn't say anything um..." He glances around, like anyone else can hear them, "...embarrassing, did I?"

Mettaton laughs his metallic, resonating laugh, and pats Asriel on the head.

"Nothing that I find embarrassing, sweetheart! Though you did combine both into a snail-based joke as well. It was a bit of a miss, but then I'm not one to judge humor. You would need to ask Sans about that!

It was cute, by the way!"

Super cute. You will never live it down.
