"Arguments on their nature are refuted by those who return to shore, wide-eyed with tales of their savagery."

She wants to know where she is? He kind of wants to know, too, to be honest.
"I'm definitely not the guy to ask," he answers wryly.

But upon looking at his face, her frustration quells. No, it seems he's as lost as she is. In that case, there's no use getting angry at him - probably just the opposite. And now she feels embarrassed, shifting her weight to one foot uncomfortably.
So she tries again. "...Sorry. I'm a little, you know, fed up with this. Are you saying you don't know either?"
no subject
"Yeah. I'm kinda new here."
no subject
She leans forward a little, eager for whatever answer the man can give, holding her hands in loose fists at her side. Despite all her "armor," it's fairly typical teenage girl mannerisms.
"All they told me is that this weird machine or something had brought me here. But that doesn't make any sense! And I don't... I don't know what any of this is about." She gestures to their bizarre surroundings. She knows he said he isn't the person to ask, but if he can explain any of this to her, she's all ears. And having jumped the gun, it's like she's got to make this conversation worthwhile somehow.

Han shrugs, waving vaguely at the unfamiliar landscape. Unfamiliar to him, too, even if he's been on a hundred planets in his day.
"They want us to work for them, I guess. That's what they say."

Despite Fiora's animated frustration, she's wilting the longer this conversation goes on, as it becomes apparent this man can't help her. She wants to cry, or scream maybe, or wake herself up from this, but... well. It's like he said, they're kind of here now.
"This is... of all the ridiculous..." Hanging her head, she frowns and doesn't bother with the rest of that thought. "I don't get how you're being so calm about all this, sir."
no subject
"Playing along seems like the fastest way home."
Which is his priority, same as anyone else. Their weird, busted portal is a better bet than trying to fly to another galaxy, especially without any clue of which way home is.
no subject
She's completely deflated now. What Han just said... it's probably true. She's pretty powerless to do anything about this, as motivated as she might be to do something. And in the meantime, who knows what Shulk and the others are going through.
Falling silent, she finally sighs.
"I guess you're probably right."
no subject
He gets it. Really. Maybe if it was just him he could resign himself to this, life in some strange place, away from everything... But there are people back home he can't leave hanging.
"But it seems like we're all a long way from home."
no subject
"Well... thanks anyway, sir." Her shoulders shrug slightly, a half-hearted gesture. "My name is Fiora. Sorry I came at you like that."

Even an experienced spacer isn't prepared for something like this. The routine of it-- looking for work on some random planet, busying himself with tending to his ship-- is just familiar enough to distract him from the overwhelming reality of being so far from home.
"Han Solo. Sorry I don't have better news."
no subject
"I suppose... that's it, then. Perhaps I'll see you around the ship."
no subject
Possibly that's not the greatest joke he's ever made, but it doesn't hurt to keep your spirits up, right? There are way worse places you could be stuck. Trust him on that.
"Stay out of trouble."
