X-Mansion mingle
Who: Charles Xavier |anyone visiting/moving into the X-Mansion
When: All February
Where: X-Mansion (residence 15 of region 5 on Kauto)
What: Month-long mingle, let everyone settle and get comfortable, claim rooms, train, whatever
Warnings: None?
With the mansion built and paid for, all there was really left to do was find students, some of whom were already students at the school on Earth, and furnish what they could. It would likely have to come from their own pockets, furnishings for their rooms, food. At least for a little while. Settling on Kauto, there were surely rules and organizations to him to familiarize himself with yet. Some that might provide funding, especially once he started accepting Savrii students.
They'll manage for now at least. And he was sure he could find some use for his own abilities to earn money while here.Legally.

The juxtaposition from something she knew in a place so completely foreign was a bit jarring. Yet, it did seem to be a theme here, as she was already starting to find out. There was no denying that it looked just like Rogue remembered it, at least on the outside, and there was a roll within her stomach, knowing that she had been going to take the cure, and possibly give it all up.
Yet here she was.
A gloved hand pushed a stray strand of hair behind an ear, and with an in drawn breath, she moved forward. A part of her felt like it was that first day all over again, where there were strangers that were going to judge her and fear what she did, yet there was a part of her that acknowledged she wasn't that girl on the run anymore. She might still have a ways to go, but for now, she was going to look around and see whether there were any changes from the school that she knew.
[Room]
When she had first arrived at the school back in their own world, Rogue had been assigned a room. It hadn't bothered her in the least though, considering she had been on the run, sleeping where she could, hitching rides with strangers. It was how she had ended up meeting Logan, and in turn, how she had ended up at the institute in the first place. There had been more to the story, of course, but some of that was ancient history.
In the end, she had gone to that room that she had had before, and finding it empty, she entered. Leaving the door open, her fingers trailed across the familiar knob, cocking her head in thought. In the end, she left the only item that she had, being her X-Men suit, on the bed. For a few moments she remained there, looking out the window, for as much as the room was familiar, the view was certainly new. Only after did Rogue leave the room, and moving down the halls, she looked about to see who else was there.
outside of the room
He trailed down the hallway of the dorms, head turning this way and that before stopping to focus on something outside one of the windows. Had it not been for his ultra-keen hearing, the blue boy might have run right into Rogue had he kept walking without looking, but the faint sound of footsteps caught his attention, making him turn to look at her with curiously wide eyes. There aren't a lot of people with white in their hair and not only that, he could recognize her from their chat on the network. "Rogue!" he called out, lifting one hand from his side in greeting.

Yet she smiled, turning, because even if he was younger, he still seemed much like what he had been- or will be. That was strange to think about. Even then there were some things that she picked up on. He had seemed so... Oh, she didn't know- not as scared, maybe? "Hey! Take it you've been lookin' the place over too?"

This 'version' of Nightcrawler was far more accepting of his blue skin and even though he'd been awkward at times with the approach, he had been able to come out of his shell a bit more and start making friends. It's done wonders for his self-confidence, of course and perhaps it was part of the reason why he'd been able to talk so easily to her. "I sure have. Everything looks almost identical, aside from missing furniture and the empty bedrooms."

"This place was crawling with students back home." Or it had been. There had been times when things had happened, and the population had fluctuated, whether by choice or not. Still, it was nice to have something familiar, even if it was just the shell. "You go and claim the room you used to have as well? One I shared didn't look like anyone was going to take it."
no subject
"There were a lot when I arrived and I met even more once I actually enrolled in the school." He nodded enthusiastically toward the question about the room, though his features softened afterward, lips pressing into a thin line. "It's weird, isn't it? Being able to come into this replica and everything looks the same, but it still feels different."
no subject
"Makes you wonder if the court opens up for the jet..." Although she paused, wondering whether or not they had a jet yet. Rogue didn't know the history of it, only that it had been there. Or would be there, maybe. Her nose wrinkled, as it was still strange to think about. "Although the jet might actually be helpful here."

For some reason, Kurt felt guilty about trying to avoid the topic of the past, but Rogue had only arrived a short amount of time ago and he saw no reason to cause her senseless stress about something that had been (mostly) okay in the end.

Although it had been more like not crashing... And Storm had had to all but pry the controls out of her hands. "Guess we'll just have to go the old fashioned way on your feet. Or at least most of us will."
Offering the hint of a smile.
no subject
Okay, that's way cooler than anything he'd ever done; Kurt had rode in a warplane, but he'd never thought about another student piloting it. A slight grin and he sheepishly dipped his head, lifting his shoulders in a shrug.
"I would have no problem using my powers to help someone get where they need to go."
no subject
Rogue would have considered it more scary than cool. Very scary, actually, and it wasn't something that she had done again since then. But Rogue nodded her head. "You've got a useful mutation. One I've certainly been thankful for."
no subject
'Scared' would be a proper reaction for someone that has never flown a plane before and they're suddenly in one with only one other person to help. Another slight smile, his tail flicking with lingering excitement. "Thank you. Again, I'm glad to have been able to help you."
Since the topic had been brought up, Kurt figured this was his chance to ask: "What's your mutation, if it's okay to ask?"
no subject
She did blink though. That was right. With all of them, Rogue knew more information than they did about her. She'd seen them in action, using their mutations. Still, there is that moment of hesitation, but some of her fears have gone as time has passed, although the cure had given her a flash of hope.
"I guess it's probably better that I share what it is anyway. Keeps anything bad from happening." Even if Logan might be able to help, yet there was always the possibility that he wouldn't be around. Last thing that she needed was to be hurt and have someone trying to help her. They'd likely end up being hurt worse than she was. "Absorption. Any type of physical contact, an' it kicks in. Powers, abilities, personality, memories... I absorb them all. Not permanently, or at least I never have."
no subject
His brow creased with concern at that comment. What exactly could go bad with a power like that? It sounded like a phenomenal ability and the hand at his face lowered to reveal a wide grin beneath.
"Ausgezeichnet! What a marvelous sort of power." Of course, he had no clue about how it worked - he'd simply figured that Rogue touched or was touched and things transferred like some sort of 'link' between the two of them. Hopefully, she won't think him foolish for assuming.
no subject
His reaction though was completely unexpected, so much so that Rogue stood there, mouth slightly opened, before her brain kicked back in. It wasn't as if she had said and I can likely suck the life right out of you and leave you dead. At least she assumed that was what would happen if she held on for too long. Magneteo was the only one that Rogue had had drawn out contact with, and that hadn't been by choice.
"That-" That was what? Wrangling her thoughts, she shook her head. "There's no on or off switch. It's always going. You can consider my touch deadly. Ah put my first boyfriend in a coma."
no subject
Brow creasing with confusion at her reaction, the cobalt-tinted mutant leaned his head to the side, trying to figure out if he'd said something wrong or had assumed too much, which was usually the case. She hadn't mentioned anything about it being deadly at first, so his mind wouldn't automatically jump toward that conclusion.
Still, he scrunched his nose then shook his head and took a step forward, reaching one hand out to rest lightly at Rogue's shoulder. "I'm not worried about it. You told me before that I'd rescued you with my ability, so that means I was either touching you or vice-versa."
no subject
There was a slight moment where Rogue did tense when he reached out, yet he didn't make skin contact, which likely was good. She didn't like having people in her head, and she somehow doubted that they liked her knowing all their little secrets. "You were, and are, touching my clothing, not my skin. But I prefer not to send you in to a coma."
Although some of that tension had slipped away from her shoulders.
no subject
He'd only wanted to show Rogue that he wasn't afraid of touching her, regardless of what her mutation could do to him. What was it that Scott had said before their final battle? 'Not all of us can control our powers,' and Raven had told them--
"Don't worry about it. I'll be careful and besides, you aren't the only one that has trouble with their abilities."
no subject
"I know. I shouldn't really complain." Even if it did suck big time. Nothing like having a boyfriend that you couldn't even get intimate with. "And- thanks. For not running away screaming, or lookin' at me like I had the plague."
no subject
"It doesn't sound like complaining to me. We need to accept everything about our abilities and weighing out the pros and cons is not a negative thing." He grins, gingerly squeezes Rogue's shoulder then withdraws his hand. "Of course. Your mutation makes you different, but it certainly doesn't have to 'define' you."
no subject
"You're starting to sound like the Professor, you know." It was hummed lightly as a smile touched her lips. But, no matter what, there would be a part of her that would always be wary and on edge because of her mutation.
no subject
"I ... I am?" he asked incredulously, blinking rapidly at the thought and reaching the hand he'd been holding Rogue's shoulder with back to cup the nape of his neck. "He's far wiser and smarter than I, though." Even that didn't keep him from blushing because wow, what a compliment! "I'm actually really flattered by that."

Kurt shook his head, bringing the hand back around to rake through his two-toned bangs with a grin. "That's definitely gut to hear. I'd have to start wearing hats or something!"
no subject
She does give a little laugh though, regarding him with a mischievous look in her eyes. "Or a wig. Blond and curly? Maybe pig tails."
